Usually you see a right sided player doing a right sided makikomi. Like when you lose the grip for an Uchi mata or osoto gari. But it’s rare to see a makikomi done on the left side from a right sided player
It appears that we are seeing fewer hip throws and way more leg hooks, hugs and frontal throws. I guess the ridiculous head diving rule means less uchi matas and harai goshis.
