  • Some context: prior to this fight JWP had had a long lay off not having fought for about 2 and half years. On top of that he’d been recovering from hip replacement surgery a few months earlier, that combined with the ring rust resulted him being far from 100%.

  • No disrespect to JWP, he is a legend in his own rights but at this point he was way done fighting. Almost everything JWP threw was awkward and made him off balance. Painful to watch 😢

    • ONE has some of the most bizarre mismatches and just matchups in general ever, next week there’ll be another one also involving Holzken but he’s fighting Sexyama in a mixed rules match, there’s also Maisangkum against Dionatha Santos Tobias who clearly looked like he wasn’t ready for the big leagues, an old Yodsanklai against a dominant Petmorakot (just why?), most of Rodtang’s recent fights fall under this category as well as much as I like him (I’m losing patience with him holding the division hostage though). The only supposed mismatch I can think of where the B side actually won were Jonathan Di Bella vs Zhang Peimian, and the first Lasiri-Prajanchai fight but that one means nothing now (Prajanchai’s fight with Hamidi I thought would be competitive but turned out to be a whitewash in Prajanchai’s favor despite being under kickboxing rules which would favor Hamidi)

    • @@decidingpaper6324you right, people gonna go ‘Oh he fought Superlek’ 😂 yeah, he pulled out the first time, the fans were outraged so the next matchup was unavoidable. Then of course Superlek missed weight (oops) so the belt wouldn’t be on the line. So of course Rodtang takes the fight 😂

  • Yeah... JWP is a legend, but even at 1.5 speed increase of the fight he STILL looks half-speed ☹️.

  • Jwp needs to retire he looked so slow and not in same league as Nicky. These older fighters don't themselves any favors taking these fights.
