  • Hi from Australia Thank you so very much into the blue simulations. In this world, day and age we need a KZhead channel like yours. Once again thank you so very much. Kind and respectful regards T C from Australia.

    • Hi Wait, My sincere thanks, very kind of you to say! My pleasure on the reviews - I’m glad you’ve been finding them useful and in alignment with your own personal tastes (I certainly wouldn’t recommend any product that I didn’t enjoy myself)! The ATC is real-world recordings, which I’ve then edited into the video. There is actually an ATC chatter app available for MSFS though, if that’s the sort of thing you’re after : ) I hope that helps. I’m really glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks very much again and all the best!

  • There are many middle sized GA aircraft coming, turbopros, jet and aspirated engines. After the TB850 , this Piper, then the PC12 and next week even a wonderful Tecnam P2012 Traveler. Not to mention the Piaggio Avanti later on! Incredible.

I don't understand why I haven't been subscribed to your channel before. I certainly am now. I really like this aircraft. It is detailed, but still, I as a casual simmer can get it in the air and have fun without having to study much.

  • Nice review, and a nice aircraft. To me though as a VR-only player, I think I will get the Black Square TBM as a SL turboprop single. Main reason, I find steam-gauge panels *so* much nicer to use in VR than full glass cockpits.

    @michaelpowell775@michaelpowell7756 ай бұрын
    • Just to warn you, I find all the black square aircraft to be be strangely proportioned in VR. They look phenomenal in 2D, but the gauges have an inauthentically large amount of depth in VR; a lot of the actual dial hands on the gauges are positioned far closer to you than the rest of the gauge housing.

      @wokkus5610@wokkus56106 ай бұрын
    • @@wokkus5610 I know what you mean, not sure what it is but in most of MSFS VR I feel like I am a miniature person in a toy cockpit! Contrast with DCS which is amazingly immersive in VR in comparison

      @michaelpowell775@michaelpowell7756 ай бұрын
    • @@michaelpowell775 Yeah, nothing beats DCS in the VR department. There is a world scale parameter you can mess around with in MSFS to adjust the apparent size of everything in the VR space. Most of the DCS modules are made with laser scanning or photogrammetry, so the cockpits are truly authentic. The A2A Comanche in MSFS looks great in VR, and is appropriately scaled (probably because they laser scanned their actual PA-24)

      @wokkus5610@wokkus56106 ай бұрын
    • Thanks for offering up the info Wokkus, that wasn’t an issue that I was aware of (I don’t tend to test products in VR)! Cheers, all the best : )

    • Thanks very much Michael, I’m glad you enjoyed the review / addon! I think I would go the same route if I were a VR flyer; mechanical gauges are easier to read and there’s also more interesting details to see around the cockpit (steam gauges are also just “better” in general haha). I can’t attest to the quality of the TBM in VR (it sounds like it has one or two issues) but, I agree, a number of MSFS aircraft are not to the correct scale (I gave the AN-2 a go recently), though this can usually be tweaked a bit with the Word Scale slider (as you mention). Happy flying and all the best! : )

  • Thanks for picking a trip in French Alps. Enjoyed every minute. Passion is too weak word - I would say closer to insane. Raul working on this project at night, after ordinary work. I dare to say level of system simulation is on par with A2A. A couple of days ago I did not follow checklist and burned the starter/generator. Next attempt it started to crank a few seconds before the load was to high and a couple of c/b s popped. The G1000 cockpit is not my favorite. But it is fascinating to monitor the full automated flight. With Reborn and BlackSquare "amateur'" guys, the more established pro developer/publishers should be ashamed asking for higher price for their average products than those. Just check the 144 page manual for FSR500. The highest standard in documentation. None is even close.

    • My pleasure Øystein! It’s a route I’ve flown a couple of times at this point but, it never disappoints haha. Passion, obsession, insanity; whatever one want to call it haha, it was very clear from the aforementioned interview, that Raul “gets it” and genuinely cares about pushing the boundaries / bringing us the very best product that he can. That sort of attitude is rare to see and should absolutely be rewarded (I hope that the FSR500 has sold like hotcakes!). It’s actually one of the things that I have really loved about MSFS; many of the “old guard” have really been shown up. Gone are the days where we have to accept mediocre products for large sums of money. Now we can get some absolutely top notch addons, at very reasonable prices and support the “little guy”, rather bolstering the coffers of a dev who’s only there to turn a quick profit (something that happened all too often in FSX / P3D). I hope you had a great weekend. Cheers again! : )

If you haven’t come across that one: kzhead.info/sun/aJugktWFcJqCiY0/bejne.htmlsi=RFs9XVVXnTM9zabH The Saab was part of my AIG traffic setup (which I don’t generally use anymore but, FSTL wasn’t populating any traffic at Chambery). The departure airport (Chambery) is Orbx payware (relatively cheap actually) and the arrival airport is indeed the default MSFS Courchevel. I hope that helps. All the best! : )

  • Very disappointed that Sir 'Into the Blue' didn't arrive by Rolls Royce & red carpet & the Macaroons didn't get a look in lol 😉 Apparently, you can simulate a bird strike with a caved-in 3D windscreen! Interesting to get your take on FSR500 (M500) and TBM850 flight models as both seem good but both have a few things maybe in need of updates/tweaks, some twitchyness and the like. I noted on the dev videos that the G1000 was modified slightly to allow the duel engine columns as in real plane which is a nice touch. Sadly still both my pc system & bank account struggling in 2023 for all the good planes coming out let alone what we get in MSFS 2024! Boundaries & standards of add-ons are being pushed ever higher. It's great to see Simbrief & Navigraph included & with draggable charts on the tablet. Also using the Navigraph plug-In for G1000 allows them on G1000 screens & importing Simbrief plans to G1000 now for even more realism. For £30 does seem great and a nice plane manaul availible - seems to me FSReborn are great & worthy of support. I recommend to anyone the 5 or so videos on this plane done by 'The Flight Level' on tutorials on this plane they are very good for general consumption with awseome highlighted overlays used. FSReborn are doing the Venom 300E Biz jet after this - cannot wait for that also as will use leanring from the two prior. If only your real-life flights had chauffeurs, red carpets & Macaroons - safe flying ITB 👍

  • At the risk of stating the obvious, another great review! This is a definite buy for me. Small enough to be GA, decent performance and it has glass (yes I prefer glass). Plus it's FSR so it should be great. I like the instrument setup and the fact it's not bonkers fast. Should keep the workload reasonable on the days I want to fly (semi) competently.

    • Haha. Little did I know, that there was a cat amongst the pigeons in my subscriber base, Roland - we have a glass cockpit lover amongst us?! It’s okay, nobody is perfect : P If glass is your thing, then the FSR500 is indeed an absolute gem! FSR are also throughly deserving of the support - a true simmer, with a passion for hobby it seems (which is always great to see, of course). I’ve no doubt your virtual passengers will be in awe of your flying abilities! Many thanks once again. I’m very pleased to hear that you found the review useful! Happy flying and all the best, sir : )

  • What's your yoke/joystick sensitivity settings if you don't mind me asking?

    @raymond_jamm@raymond_jamm6 ай бұрын
    • Hello Raymond, My joystick sensitivity settings are just left at “default” values (from memory, even by default, MSFS still introduces some sort of sensitivity curve). I do have a -50 curve on my rudder sensitivity, as I still find the rudder response to be way overly sensitive in MSFS. I hope that helps a little. All the best : )

    @Vaporisers@Vaporisers5 ай бұрын
    • Hello Zachariah, I’m afraid I have no idea what the issue may be, or how to fix it but, I would imagine if you can get in touch with the dev directly, he would probably be happy to help. What you’re describing, sounds like a genuine bug so, I would imagine FSR is busy plugging away to fix things, as we speak. Sorry I can’t be of more help on that one. All the best : )

Perhaps, based on such comments, FSR will have a change of heart but, I think they are exclusively a Marketplace developer at the moment (I don’t recall having seen the FSR500, or the Sting S4 available elsewhere). • Hi Steve, I actually didn’t even realise FSReborn had done that previously (I just looked it up). Well indeed, it’s night and day (terrible pun intended haha) between their previous efforts (which looked decent but, I’ve no idea what they were charging - they’ve since pulled the product) and what the dev has been doing in MSFS. The 500 is pretty fantastic, as was the FSReborn Sting S4. Both aircraft have pushed boundaries in MSFS, which is all the more impressive given that it’s a one man effort! Cheers and all the best : )

    @baardk2@baardk26 ай бұрын
    • Hello Bård, According to the checklist, takeoff flap is optional on the FSR500 (M500). There was plenty of runway available at Chambery and I wanted to keep the climb performance (to help clear the terrain), so opted to takeoff with the flaps up : ) I hope that clarifies things. • Hi N1tro, Was there something specific you were after? I have my MSFS tutorial series, which pretty much covers the basics and then another A320 tutorial series in P3D, which covers more advanced topics (albeit, the series is pretty old and rather janky as a result haha). I also have a number of A320 flights in MSFS, which tend to cover different topics / scenarios in a roundabout way (I recently recorded another scenario in the Fenix A320 but, I’m not sure as to when I’ll be publishing that video). Do let me know if there’s something you’d like to see and, if it fits, I’ll potentially try and get around to recording it (at some point - I do have a backlog of content to record currently). Cheers, all the best! : )

    • Hello Mark, I’m afraid I can’t gift you a new PC but, have you considered looking into the cloud gaming version of MSFS? So far as I understand it, Microsoft takes care of crunching all the data and you then essentially stream the sim to your PC. As a result, you can run MSFS on waaay more modest hardware (almost anything by the sounds of it), which might at least be a decent stop-gap solution? It’s not something I know a whole lot about but, it might be researching a little more. I hope you and the family have a great Christmas! All the best : )

After Bat is on, turn off Emergency. just about the only thing I fly anymore. Do wish they made the better M600 though, as useful load on the M500 is atrocious... two dudes, a cooler, and 60 lbs of gear with full fuel, you already over weight. Not a hauler for the family and friends.

I work my way through so many aircraft / addons, I tend to have to rely pretty heavily on the checklists. I’m very glad to hear you’re enjoying the 500. Happy flying and all the best!
