Police uncover suspected cannabis farm following house fire

A suspected cannabis farm has been uncovered following a house fire in Stockport.
Emergency services were called to Heaton Chapel in the early hours of this morning (May 13).
Greater Manchester Police say it followed reports of suspected arson.
Flames could be seen erupting from the roof of the house as fire crews battled to bring the blaze under control.
It's understood those inside managed to escape without injury.
GMP later confirmed that a man had been arrested on suspicion of arson and the cultivation of cannabis.
A spokesman for the force said: "Emergency services responded to an arson in Stockport this morning (Monday 13 May 2024).
"A fire broke out at a property on Lawton Road in Heaton Chapel at around 1.38am.
"A man was later arrest on suspicion of arson and the cultivation of cannabis.
"A scene remains in place while enquiries are ongoing."
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
