Welcome to Animal Digest - Facts About Dogs - Pros and Cons of Miniature Pinscher.
The Miniature Pinscher is referred to by their fans as the "King of the Toys" or "Min Pin". This bold, courageous, fun-loving breed with a shiny coat and a small, wedge-shaped build is a true-personality toy dog with a height of no more than 12.5 inches. The Min Pin Dog originated in Germany and was bred to hunt rats, and the term "pinscher" describes a dog's propensity to jump on and aggressively bite its prey. The breed was developed by crossbreeding Dachshunds, Italian Greyhounds, and German Pinschers. But there are pros and cons to owning most pets and the Min Pin is no exception. Therefore, before getting a Miniature Pincher watch this video - Miniature Pinscher Pros and Cons - to learn about the good and the bad of owning this breed. Thanks for watching and we hope you enjoy the video.

    • @@AlwaysBKind7270 I have a 9 year old min pin. If you can wear them out with meaningful walks & some playtime, they will cuddle with you, no problem. Regardless of what breed you get, diet is what's most important to focus on. A lot of people are oblivious to what they're feeding their pets. Just some ingrdients to look out for in their food or snacks. The first 6-7 are most prominent NO: Chicken/beef by product meal Wheat, corn, soy, gluten of any sort BHA/BHT Carageenan Powder cellulose Propylene glycol Pea flour Pea protein High fructose Brewers rice Salt & sugar Nitrates Glycerin/ vegetable glycerin Most of these are usually in snacks but some are common in a lot of dried foods. Purina, along with other popular brands are the McDonalds of cat & dog food, believe me. Sorry for the essay. Take care!

  • I love my min pin. I’ve had her for 5 years now. She definitely has a lot of energy but she can also be the laziest thing ever. She doesn’t like early mornings or super long walks. She is super perfect but having to watch her is so true. She doesn’t chew anything but she’ll go sneak off and pee somewhere if it’s a new place. Aside from that, she’s super smart & makes an amazing travel companion.

      @adamcoleman4419@adamcoleman4419 Жыл бұрын
    • I am sorry for that. It isn't easy to lose a friend. That's the unfortunate part of owning a dog. They don't live long enough, but they live long enough to capture your heart. That's why I immediately have to get another one. I believe in having 2 dogs at the least. I am not replacing my dog. I am passing my dog to a new generation even after he dies. I before had 3 dogs that were my wife's. They glommed onto me. I had a pug, a German Shorthaired Lab (GSP and Lab mix), and a miniature dachshund. The pug passed away in her sleep. She was a happy dog. Than my German Shorthaired Lab had to be put to sleep at 17 years old because she was suffering. She had her good days. For over a year it was the dachshund was alone. I would play with him, but it wasn't the same. That's when I got my ratapin. My dachshund was getting older, and this puppy kept messing with him especially when my dachshund was underneath the covers. We called it blanket monster. My dachshund started to have swelling in his snout. We figured out after going to the vet, it was sinus cavity cancer. After 2 siezures, I had to put him down. He was suffering so bad, and was too stubborn to let go. I wanted him to go in his sleep, but I couldn't let him keep hurting. I visited the vet for on last time. After one month I got my bullmasador. My wife was grieving, but we both agreed one year was too long. Now my ratapin acts like my dachshund, and now my bullmasador acts like an overgrown ratapin. He even sleeps underneath the covers. My point is this. You start seeing your other dog in the new one when they're introduced. It's not the same, but that line can be passed down through multiple generations. You have love to give to a pal that loves you. It's tragic, but you have to keep moving forward.

  • I have had 4 MinPins over the past 20 years. Great companions and travelers. Also great hikers. (OBTW, only 1 of them was a barker.) You're right about warm weather. hey all hated the cold (cold= >70 degrees). They would lay out in the sun when it was 100. And be careful when it is cool, don't sit down on cushions or throw something on a pile of laundry without checking...they might be burrowed down there! I've saved all my MinPin stuff (10 bowls, 10 beds, 30+ toys, etc) I'm going to take a few years for myself, and get a few more again. Great dogs, but they take ALL your time.

  • My girlfriend and I are proud owners of a handsome boy Black Jack, 👑 we had to rescue him from a abusive neighbor when he was only 8 months old, he's 4yrs old now and is a happy (spoiled), playful dog..he does have epilepsy, and little dog syndrome, that's got slot better and PTSD, and it takes time for him to get to no anyone before he will either like you or not. But he's affectionate to us , playful etc but one bad habit he has is he all of a sudden will turn very aggressive, territorial and growl , bark at times bite over certain things. Specially his food, toys only when he wants to keep them to himself, and this is new but now our pillows? He likes to sleep under the blankets down towards the end of the bed, but he waits for us to go to sleep now before he (goes under), and if he thinks we are showing each other "Love ❤️" he gets very mad and goes after me.. I have to put him in the living room with the TV on. It's to late to crate train and do to him being abused the beginning of his life he's very hard to discipline also because of his seizures, and putting him even in a different room sometimes is hard because he will bite if I try to pick him up, he talks back to me when I tell him he's very bold, it's hard to explain but if he does bite(nip) he knows rite away it was bold and true to basically say sorry by kissing the spot he nipped, still I haven't been able to completely stop this behavior. Any ideas please let me no, iam lucky to have one docter that has gone above and beyond with dealing with Black Jack when it's vet time, iam so grateful for Doctor G, Morse at the VCA animal hospital in Clifton Park NY. She had to try almost everything to get his seizures under control, bringing him in for a nail trim I'm sure is her favorite 😀, but when you have a aggressive territorial dog I found that basically Doctor Morse is the only one that didn't give up or turn him away, I just hope if I can do anything to better his bad behaviors at times that it's not to late to change..if anything you can email us at Ahernliz80@gmail.com if you have any ideas or advice? Questions solutions whatever will be greatly appreciated thanks... Jennifer and Elizabeth 💞

  • How do dachshunds mate with grayhounds or pinchers?

  • I have a ratapin. (Half Rat Terrier and half Miniature Pinscher) Both breeds are similar. The energy problem is because they get bored. If you stimulate their brain, they won't tear things up. I got my ratapin as a puppy from a family with a small child. It wasn't fair to the dog. I took my dachshund with me because I believe in seeing how they'd interact. Needless to say they got along great. As a puppy if you train them correctly, they will be great dogs. Needless to say, some shoes, and my wallet fell victim to a teething puppy. Needless to say, he also made visits to the cage. I never worried about him escaping because he stays with me and comes back when I call him. Here's how I stimulate him. I grab one of his toys. I noticed he would drop his toy down by me, and when I would grab it, he'd immediately take it back, so I would first grab it fast. He would be surprised I beat him on speed. I would distract with the right, and grab with the left. Toy was gone. Sometimes I would hide the toy in my pocket or under the bed. He'd be shocked and look for his precious toy. I started squeaking it to get his attention and he'd freak out. I would throw it, and he'd bring it back. I would have to be fast, and grab it. I would than fake throw it. At the time he'd fall for it, and run to get it, but I would hide it. Sometimes I would give it to my wife to hide it. He would come back and look for it. A lot of times I would pretend to have it, and she'd throw it. Now he knows these tricks, and is extremely skeptical of us. You have to change things up. I do this with his treats. I make him work for everything he has. He enjoys it. He's now 6 years old and helped raised a bullmasador. A Bullmastif and Labrador Retriever mix. I wanted him not to get freaked out by big dogs. Anyone with small dogs knows there are more than one way a dog shoes discomfort for the big dogs. They will be either more aggressive when they bark, or go away and hide. Well that seems to work because when my bigger dog was a puppy, he was smaller than him. Now my big dog towers over him, but the little one is in charge. Now he doesn't mind bigger dogs unless they're on his property. Oh yeah I can't spell B-O-N-E-S around them because they know. I know this is long, but I figured I would share some knowledge on how much I love my ratapin. Anyone that knows pinscher is German for terrier, and terriers are known as burrow dogs. That means they like to dig, and will likely sleep underneath the covers. This also means they will rip and tear things apart. I couldn't give my dog fabric toys because the toy would end up ripped apart with the stuffing on the floor. The squeaker would also be torn to peices. I got the Hartz bacon flavored plastic toys.
