I've been doing BJJ for 13 years and I've never seen someone pass out and regain full consciousness while the choke is locked the entire time. It flat out doesn't happen. Armen probably tried to limp arm or something.

This was obvious to everybody who is not biased. There is no way you go to sleep and wake up in the same choke that put you to sleep and then jump right up afterwards as if nothing happened.
The same thing happened to grant dawson and that dude didn't even get up like arman. Just like you said he stayed on the ground.
Um.... tell that to Robbie Lawler then? In his fight against Ben Askren, similar thing happened. He was caught in a Bulldog Choke against Ben, and Robbie's arm appeared to be limp. But as soon as the choke was released, Robbie sprang right back up. It certainly can be possible. We can never be sure

Arman was just defending the choke. It's a form of defending against the darce. The heavy sprawl relieves pressure prevents the arm from being pushed across and Charles fully locking up the choke. At no point was Arman out.

So many charlie olives stans debating this when theres literally a video of arman doing this exact defense. Arman is that guy. Islam will still crush him but hes not gonna lose to any of these other top 5 old guard scrubs.
Sure, he ain’t finishing any of them either. His striking is not good enough, his submission skills aren’t good enough, his best weapon is wrestling. Charles wasn’t in danger at any point in that fight, arman was flopping about for his life - not an impressive fashion to win imo, Islam is probably making plans for his win bonus as we speak.

It was obvious that Arman wasn't choked out by watching how full of life he was after the bell sounded and leapt up on the cage. Charles was just holding him down. Arman won.

Going belly down in a darce is a legit defense. Charles knew he wasn't out.
That would be wild if both Arman and Yan got choked out on the same card, but both of them still ended up making it to the scorecards.
A lot is said about this and the guillotine, but the triangle was locked in and could have easily turned into an arm bar if necessary if he had another 10-20 seconds.

Arman uses really high level IQ to successfully defend TWO submission attempts against THE top submission artist in the UFC and Olivera thinks TWO unsuccessful submission attempts should win him the fight? Makes 0 sense. Arman dominated the guy who knocked down and submitted Justin G, TKO'd Michael Chandler and defended his belt against Dustin Porier, Arman completely won the fight against Olivera no question in my mind. Now its Oliveras turn to defend his rank against an up and coming Lightweight just like Justin and Dustin did. Maybe a Dariush rematch, Fiziev or Benoit.

That position is actually a common defense for the darce choke because it relieves some of the pressure. He didn't go out, he just did the dead body flop to adjust the position and pressure

I saw a gracie breakdown on the two submissions that oliviera had on Arman. He said that laying flat on the belly is a genuine technique against Darce. This prevents the pressure from Oliveira's chest.

The second round submission was basically given up by Arman because he went for the standing ground and pound only when 5 seconds were left, knowing that it was very unlikely for him to get triangled.

Never trust a "judge". These people are not even announced before the competition begins. Why? What's the bug mystery? The "judges" and their credentials should be announced so they can be held accountable for their scoring.
Arman got that thick neck like mike chandler. Unless its a rear naked choke, i dont think its possible to choke him out. That is if he stay calm and not panic.
