First Wash & Drive Ford GT Full Detail and Polish

The all new Ford GT is AMAZING! I was honored to be asked by Barry Meguiar to help give his new addition to the fleet its first wash and drive. This is part 1, in a 3 part series, where I travel to So Cal to compare the first and second generation GT's and get to learn from Barry's personal detailer and my long time friend, Derek Bemiss, about his methods for detailing the fleet. Hope you enjoy! -L

  • FYI: After 2 weeks of editing I made 2 mistakes. I say "6-speed calipers" instead of 6-piston calipers (obviously. Not sure where the heck that came from in my voice over. Weird. But ok.) and the graphic says the new GT is a V8 instead of V6. Clearly thats not right. We were playing with the graphic and mirroring the other side to keep it consistent with the frame etc etc...and forgot to change it back to V6. Ugg its annoying, but hope you can look past it. -L

  • WOW LARRY!! What a treat to be asked by Barry MEGUIAR to give his new GT the first detail! Absolutely love this episode it really felt like I was watching a TV show, I cant believe that was a 14 min video the time went by so fast! Love seeing the other guys and the small stuff they have learned over the years, I'm sure most people would probably over look some of the stuff they do! I'm really looking forward to the next 2 episodes now!

  • Larry! You've made it!! For Mr Meguiar to involve you in his Ford GT car detail, to me it's like he's passing down "the baton" to the next generation of car detailers. Kudos dude, and credit for acknowledging you don't always need to obsess about having loads of specialised products when a few essentials will do.

  • The ‘sheeting’ technique is great! I learned that from a “Hot Rod” magazine when I was a little guy in the 80’s/90’s way less time wringing our the chamois (back then) or waffle weave (present). It’s a solid tip. The better maintained the vehicle the better it works. 👍👌🏁 your work is inspirational Larry.

  • Barry Meguiar has his own personal detailer for showing off clean super cars at shows. Firstly, and I mean this with a slight comedic angle, THAT IS GANGSTA! :) Also, I love the attention to saving water, this is always something that bothers me about washing my car in my driveway. Larry, you should make a few videos about saving water while doing a car wash and the various ways this is possible. I think a lot of people would find this valuable and this would also just be a straight up cool topic. Cheers and great job as usual.

  • What an amazing and memorable experience. I love the work with less mentality. If you don’t use the two-bucket wash method you’re now frowned upon and not looked at as a professional detailer. You think these fine gentlemen were using half the tools/techniques years back? No, and I can assure you the results were the same. It seems detailing has gotten overly complicated over the years. Keep it simple! Keep up the great work Larry

This has resulted in me watching some of your stuff not planned on because I'm easily distracted by shiny objects. But, I'm suggesting to you- put a link in the previous vid to the next ones. Just saying because as easily as I'm distracted, I might be to lazy to keep searching for the next installment of something I've enjoyed and look for forward to seeing the outcome. Be well! PS. No turning back now, sorry to lazy to check. If you are doing this on newer things, My bad.
