Kirk, I saw the headline and thought the Accord was going RWD. 🤣
There's a small chance that Kirk knew we'd think this when we read the title...
@Brian_Eugene_Lee😂Hybrids are indeed popular, but I think most automakers will continue to offer both options for their models.
I love that retro logo. The Chinese concepts look so much nicer than the American ones.
I love the GT concept. That looks 1000x better than this generation of the Accord.
none of the car in this video were better looking, i dunnp which gt concept ur talking about. current accord is close to looking good with just few changes
Kirk if you recall Honda e was also rear wheel drive
The GT concept is giving me Jaguar vibes. Love it!
Watched because I thought Honda would make a RWD car for us; you got me on that one. Glad I didn't waste more than a min.
😂
The GT looks like it took styling cues from the Prelude!
I agree its gorgeous. Maybe just rework the front end and itll be perfect for an EV. Aside from Dodge and the new Charger, no mainstream automaker has really challenged Tesla's models S, 3 dominancy in the attainable semi luxury RWD sedan market. I know Hyundai makes the Ion 6 but I feel like it gets overshadowed by is numerous crossovers that I think they want you to forget it exists and I wouldn't be surprised if they quietly discontinued it
Pronounced like ‘yes’ without the ‘s’
Honda is on a mission
I love the retro Honda logo
Yeah. I also noticed that too. Love it.
Honda featuring anything RWD would be a major development and a MAJOR UPGRADE! I highly doubt they'll do it but Mazda is right on their heels so I wouldn't be surprised if they actually do in the coming years.
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video I grew up with rwd as most vehicles I drove had this feature honestly it might put most customers off because of it being not good on gasoline
The orange (S7) and blue (P7) cars look production-ready. Nicely-styled, practical-looking successors to the Accord Crosstour. It's about time Honda had wagons in its line-up again.
We want more V6 Odysseys
This would be interesting since they don’t offer a AWD from the accord or civic
If I want to take my own family, Honda EV might be a good choice.
I'm excited for the innovation, feel like Honda takes the safe route sometimes.
I'm a fan of Hondas front wheel drive cars I own a few civics myself, but we need a few rear wheel drive cars from Honda. There were some concepts that you showed in earlier videos are any of those coming out( was a white coupe with square tail lights look like Toyota SFR)? Do you have any news on the new prelude?
Wow! Looks exciting. Liking the concepts, even though the S7 & P7 are looking production ready as Honda says, those 2 coming to market in China lat this year. Also the Honda Zero Concept looks like a Batmobile kinda car, if the production model transfers as much of this design as possible.
I can see the gt being a next gen accord nice lines just give us , the buyers , consumers the options of ice or ev engines
Looks 100x better than the current USA Accord
A non-serviceable battery pack is a non-starter for me as a potential buyer. Makes insurance too expensive.
yup, doa for me :(
Damn a title like that really did catch my eye
With EVs losing favour these days those new battery plants might have a problem building batteries for cars that aren’t selling? I think solid state batteries will be the game changer if they are everything they tell us, ultra fast charging and very fast as well, plus lighter weight? These are the future so building current batteries are not going to go over to quickly?? Yes, lots of questions so it’s anyone’s guess?
If you take Tesla out of the equation, are EV’s really losing favor? Also factor in the rest of the world. The North American market is just different.
EVs aren't losing favor, they're just not exploding in growth as fast, but they're absolutely still growing.
So in Germany BEV sales in general are up. But hybrid and normal gas diesel vehicle sale also increased in the same period. So the overall marketshare of electric vehicle sold in german auto market is the same and no penetration was detected. Both in 2022 and 2023, EV sales was 18% of the market. That is, despite more EV models being introduced And specifically with regards to Tesla, their Model Y sales increases could not quite make up for significant decline in Model 3 sales. I assume even with the new Highland model this trend of declining Model 3 sale will continue (just look at Norway February sales figures) Same story with UK sales too. In the UK, registration of new electric cars increased by 18%, but they did not gain mkt share as non EVs increased more. EV remains only 17% of new car sales.
The L or up-side-down L or Z LED lights are very much like Hyundai and Kia which starting with the K5 looked a bit strange originally but seem very nice now (C4 for example uses that theme). The light bar is like a Hyundai theme - and the Prelude's front lights are very much like the pre-refresh Elantra's.
idk.. Honda's concepts and realities are never on the same page 😂 ..i get excited about Nissan and Mazda concepts
I lost faith in Nissan when they failed to bring the IDx into production.
Kirk, When will you be driving the 2025 Acura MDX?
I much prefer driving RWD over FWD cars so this is good news. These new models appear to be large vehicles and I still equate Honda with small Civic hatchbacks which were great cars. I know that Chinese car companies are marketing a lot of affordable small electric cars in their home market and am looking forward to similar cars being sold here in the USA.
They remind me more of the Kia Sportage with the lighting, don't get me wrong they are great looking vehicles. Hopefully we see them here. Now, why hasn't the US updated the our rules for side mirrors, we're left in the stone age.
Awesome
It’s yeah
Honda Dropped the ball
He mentioned the Kia Stinger, chest-clutch moment, RIP Stinger. I really like the GT Concept and S7, in that order. The Zero series looks like a Tesla Cybertruck and a Lamborghini Countach made a baby together. I'm sure it was an emergency C-section to get something to market quickly. Wake me up if the GT Concept arrives stateside in an ICE format :/
The GT concept could be the base for a new Acura Legend
Look like Kia’s
Kias just look like future Hondas
KIA makes good looking cars
They copied Kia!!
@@markallen2984and bad engines
Hopefully the new ones are good.@@Dilophosarusfan
Yah, yah, yah… I’ll believe it when I see it stateside!
Honestly I don’t like any of those designs, of the three you asked about but one of them has potential. The GT concept doesn’t look like a Honda at all, it looks like it could be anything and looks too robotic, not enough emotion in the design and the lights are too thin and angular… I think Honda should stay away from anything that looks more like a Kia 😂 just a bad brand identity move I think The only one I find interesting is the more futuristic black concept car… by the time it goes to production it could look like a “Countach for the masses” kind of vibe.
Rwd is also better for range, automakers and buyers don't really care about driving dynamics as much as they care about range and apparently, rwd has been better for regen breaking even though front brakes put in more work as weight shifts onto them while breaking
Ur pulling that out of your ass, front wheel drive have less horsepower/torque but it got nothing to do with range. And front wheel drive cars have better regen braking that is why most Toyota hybrid and electric are front wheel drive. Toyota didn't really embrace rear wheel drive hybrid until relatively recently
@miraphycs7377 Toyota's RWD hybrids are all "performance hybrids", IMO. Like Honda did with their first Accord Hybrid in 2006, performance seems to be a priority with those over efficiency. 25 MPG is about the best you're going to get with those.
@@miraphycs7377 hybrids have to be fwd because the engine is in the front, the hybrid motor acts as a transmission to keep the engine in its efficient fuel band, planetary gearbox only has 3 gear ratios and toyota awd hybrids do have keep a motor in the rear
I was hoping for an Accord AWD when I read Honda RWD. Everyone does an AWD sedan to keep them relevant. As a Honda fan we may be buying the next Camry hybrid AWD.
Kirk, the Headlights look sorta like a KIA Sportage models 😮??
Did you see @ 2:02 when he talked about the 2 different concepts..and goes into detail
The GT concept looks like they copied the EV6 formula. Looks better than their current lineup though.
Gotta love how everyone is still going “100%” bev still 😋
4:32 The bottom one.
So Honda finally gives the 'masses' RWD in exchange for losing manuals..Hmm
Come on Kirk!! Did you make up these images from the Kia website
😂
Nice lines.
China always gets the best looking models.
Those kind of make me nauseous… other than RWD that’s the only thing that makes me have a mini baby sized Jimney cricket sized hope.
The sedan side view just looks like a Hyundai Elantra.
I like the red sport car
I want that black one but not EV.
Imagine the cost to repair if you damage that battery tray.
i really hope they don’t use the letter-number naming scheme
First Immpression Kia K5 Headlights ..
FWD and EV don’t belong together Honda. About time they go RWD, although total NPC appliance designs.
Because you need to have a car with a soul like a g37 or three series
That was one clickbaity headline!!!! 😅 Should have known better that any company going RWD nowadays means it is them trying to be relevant with EV models
NOT THE KANYE CAR !!!
Not feelin the afeela. So generic and boring. But that GT concept... I could definitely get down with that!
They look okay, but knowing Honda, they will be priced way more than they're worth. Hope Toyota has something better planned!
If Kirk wasn’t Kirk, just hearing “Honda introducing 3 vehicles China” was about to get this an instinctive 👎🏼.
It’s pronounced “Yay” 🙌🏽
no it's not
All these new EV'S look the same...unfortunatly. but glad Honda comes up with an Ev.
where did the 0 concepts go
💪🔋⚡️
$20k vehicle from Honda, sign me up
There are no more new $20k vehicles...that era is over.
@@thejake8099You can get a new Nissan Versa under 17k my dude.
I think it’s closer to “yuh”, but your pronunciation is pretty close. Such a strange sounding name.
I guess everyone has different views on what is interesting. I don’t find anything interesting about these designs. I kinda feel like Honda could go back to one of their popular designs (original Civic, Prelude) and use that as inspiration for something modern. These just look bland and like Kia. Which is fine for Kia but Honda needs more. I don’t think adding creases and edges innately makes things interesting. I also think current EVs have ruined some excitement for something new. They gave is things like no buttons or pop out door handles which just end up being expensive and impractical. Takes away my belief that manufacturers can give us something exciting with out making it useful. I also think Honda had a hard time with design. While different the 10th gen Civic was not nice to look at it. That was allegedly daring design. The 11th gen imo is much better looking but conservative
They look like Kia’s
Toyota will kick Hondas ass if Honda dont wake up and make all their cars + Acura with hybrid. Charging infrastructure/convenience is still a long ways off.
The vowel in "ye" is pronounced like "yes". Just remove the "s". Yes. Yet. Ye.
Accord should look like this GT. Current Accord design is pathetic.
Very excited about Honda EV’s as long as they are affordable just like cheap ICE cars.
Why the hell is China getting more interesting cars?? Is the West starting to be looked at as Third World?
yes
It pronounces like Yeah
WHY does these vehicles remind me of Toyota smh!!!!
ev rwd is not exciting at all.
As long as they make ev batteries unable to be hot swappable the answer is no to all ev. Since I cannot work on them
Evs are already too expensive no one will buy them
Come on Honda you can do better
Current EV technology not ready for prime time. Need solid state that charges in 4 minutes for 400 miles range min. and no weight penalty to ICE version.
I guess they didn’t get the memo nobody wants EV’s
These EVs make me want to never get a new vehicle. What a turn off.
ya
All these car companies are king themselves with this EV garbage, can't they see by now people don't want them.
烨 actually sound “yeah”。
燁 (烨) 14 strokes Definition blaze of fire / glorious
Get concept looks like a Kia
