You can listen to the Official Version of Barricades that was used in Episode. kzhead.info/sun/dbysmq-um3eXmGw/bejne.html No point in me recreating an already perfect song. My version is a more of a tribute arrangement. I basically remastered my Barricades cover which was a mix of BARRIchestra and Barricades (Movie.Ver) Also included "Rittaikidou" to honor commander Pixis... Hearing Barricades again in today's AOT episode brought back so much memories of the simpler times in Season 1...
It feels so nostalgic 😌🤍
Conclusive full circle indeed

Marco was right
Armin is useless this season.
He takes charge when Armin can’t make decisions
Truly Erwin's successor, he may not be the smartest but if it comes to us spending every last bullet, he'll be worthy to inspire us to put bayonets and charge the enemy!
I really loved this episode. No politics, no backstabbing just the squad vs titans like in the old times. The timing was perfect for an episode like this too.
It was refreshing to be honestly
Connie abondoned them
Yep
Totally agreed!!
@@udith True but I dont think thats really considered backstabbing since he is still on their side. While you could call that selfish, he just wants to save his mother.
Let’s not forget Instructor Shadis for being absolute badass.
No longer a bystander.
@@victorsultan6758 he wasn’t
@@789syrus789 He literally has an episode only about him called 'Bystander'
@@victorsultan6758 yeah you’re right
@@789syrus789 tbh he may have viewed himself as a bystander, but look at all the shit he contributed to throughout the series, dude needs to give himself some more credit. -Brought Grisha into the walls and introduced him to life there -Brought Eren back home safely after he ate Grisha and revealed Eren’s past to him, making it a big factor in all of his future decisions -Literally trained EVERY main character in the series and taught them the skills needed to kill titans -Took one for the team and let himself get beaten up so the Yeagerists wouldn’t hurt/kill all of the recruits -Saved those same recruits and led them in a fight against the titans
Barricades turned a "hey that's a cool callback to S1" scene from the manga into one of the most emotional and nostalgic scenes of the entire Anime. The adaption of MAPPA has elevated every single scene in Part 2 so far. I feel like crying.
I totally get what you mean, but why do we as fans need to bring MAPPA into literally everything we say. I know that it used to be like a reaction to all the people crying about the CGI, but its time to stop thanking Mappa for literally everything. We don't thank any other studio ever do we? And if we do its only ufotable and bones, but way less often than we do with mappa.
@@gijskerkhof1294 then its better that we appreciate every studio like this
@@gijskerkhof1294 Why are you acting like you're speaking for ANYONE but yourself? Everyone admires animation and talks about animators. Literally everyone. Because they stress themselves a LOT and have terrible deadlines. THAT'S why we compliment them. And that's not even to mention the amount of threats they have(and still are), receiving.
Mappa really made going a year avoiding the manga completely worth it
@@gijskerkhof1294 Mappa is the ones currently adopting it and they’re doing an amazing job. Of course we should acknowledge, appreciate, and thank them. If people don’t this for other studios then they should. Animators are constantly being overworked. The LEAST we can do is thank them for all their hard work.
When they played this in today's Episode the nostalgia dropped harder than uchiha's population

When you realize the last time this ost was present was back in season 2 when eren was still a part of the team.. Time flies for real in this show
Now eren has the team
They used it for historia in season 3 part 1
I remember exactly how it felt watching that scene where Jean leads the cadets when they use guns against titans in underground Trost and this felt the same when they jumped off the tower. Also hard to imagine Eren’s house is just a few hundred metres away. So much has changed, I do not recognise Shiganshina.
The one to lead the cadets when they use guns was Marco, not Jean
@@lucasmadera569 I remember Armin making the plan for the sneak attack but Jean actually giving the signal but maybe you’re right. Either way, Marco certainly said in the scene after that Jean would be a great leader.

This version really fits well for the rollercoaster of emotions we felt during this episode, a mixture of sadness for Pixis and being flooded with nostalgia at the same time.
Yup.
Full Nostalgia in this scene, the song fits perfectly!
It has been a while since I saw u my guy. Or is it bcz u changed ur pfp.

The Moment they were standing there watching over the titans was a really "like old times" Moment. That, Armin's respect and goodbye to Commander Pixis, Barricade in the background, Jean being the leader that Marco saw in him, and Mikasa being the badass She Always has been in defeating titans. I read the manga twice, still teared up on this episode.
Gabi attacking Titan Nile (r.i.p) the same way Sasha did in S2 aswell
The fact that those 3 were the only ones still there from the original group was what made it sadder to me
And Shadis being an absolute chad
@@jordandwiggins1026 Yea, Shadis saving those cadets' asses even though they beat him up before was great!
I think the reason they don't use most of the OST's from previous seasons is because those OST's give us a feeling of hope but this final season is all about despair.
The real reason is change of main music composer. Sawano is now co composer that is why we can't hear s1-3 great OST's frequently
@@nausheensiddiqui8745 both of them work together in the same team so it doesn't make any difference
I remembered that Pixis looked down at the Titans when he was watching from above the wall in Season 1 now in Season 4 Part 2 (Final Season) now it’s Armin, Mikasa, and Jean looked down at Pixis as a Titan and that hits hard.
Cyclone....yes I remember that...you made me tear up ...❤ Rip commander Pyxis 🙌🏼🌹🌹 he is with Erwin now walking together above the wall..
The last time Barricades was played in AoT was season 2. The nostalgia during this scene was incredible. No dilemmas and no treachery. Just the clarity of needing to save your comrades. Except this time Jean has grown into the position of leadership and Armin is as good a fighter as the rest of them.

This barricade scene makes me cry so much in this episode knowing that this is the last scene in the entire series where we will see them killing all the mindless pure titans. I still remember the days when they we're just struggling and afraid to kill them back in the first half of season 1. Look how far they made in this journey. Seeing Jean lead everyone made me so proud of him. His character arc was really well done. Armin saying they couldn't have gone this far without Pyxis and giving him thanks in a final send off made my heart ache. Times were so much simpler back then.
Was never expecting barricades but it was surely welcome to my ears
This episode hitted different. The OST 🤌❤️ The animation ❤️ The emotions 😭
This song gave me the perfect nostalgia combined with the odm gear animation in this ep🕊
Shadis being a Chad, Jean being the leader he was meant to be, Armin putting one of his mentors to rest, Mikasa saving that girl who admires her for the third time, everyone just being an absolute badass! This scene was so incredible, and this episode was honestly my favorite this part of the season. And that includes the craziness that were the episodes set in the Paths!
So proud of my boy Jean, for stepping up as a leader. He's always had that charisma about him, and he's finally settling into it! The whole titan-slaying sequence was a reminder of how far the remnants of the 104th Cadet Corps has come, and how much bullshit they've been through. :') They were in a similar situation in Season 1 and were ultimately saved by the Scouts, and now they're the ones pulling people out of the shit.
Grateful to MAPPA. This episode wasn't supposed to be this good. But they executed a 10/10 episode better than anyone imagined
Jean really is a amazing leader reminded me of Erwin
Yeah but Erwin would sacrifice his whole squad to achieve is own selfish purpose unlike Jean
@@treybanks1068 OOP. LOVE THIS COMMENT.
Jean is a mid fight leader, were as armin comes up with plans and tactics before the fight. Different types of leaders both have merit. Erwin was able to do both.
@@rinzzler366 Jean was never a mid fighter, even as a trainee he got more skills than armin, eren, reiner by the author. And currently he is a commanding officer at the age of just 19 which is higher rank than any other scouts and In Levi’s character interview he mentioned if anything happens to him Jean should be in command.
@@anakin4515 I think they meant that Jean is good at coming up with short term plans amidst a chaotic battle, he’s good at making calls on the field while Armin isn’t, but Armin is good at creating a big plan to win if you give him enough time to come up with it. They both have their own strengths
When they played Barricades it was so nostalgic and epic at the same time!
I started crying this episode, just all the callbacks and the ost, just made me realize we are nearing the end of the greatest story, glad to be apart of this journey 🙌🔥💯
Oh man... I'm sorry in advance.
@@kyaryi1 I already know what happens kid lmao, I read the manga 😂😂
• Jean leading the squad • Commander Pixie died • Mikasa badassly killing pure titans • Squad vs titans + the background music
The nostalgia hit really hard in this episode!! Jean what a leader you are man. He became Erwin Smith Jr basically and without a doubt Jean and Keith were the MVP of this episode
This shows us that Jean became the leader Erwin was and Armin got the brain that Erwin had
i wasn't excited for this episode cz i knew that it would only have titan killing and shit and gabi's redemption.. but dude MAPPA just killed it this time its just the 10/10 execution i could think of.. PERFECT music, WIT studio level animation.. it turned a rather not that good episode into possibly the best episode we've had so far in the season. and doing all this within the small time period they had is just amazing.
Brother believe in Mappa they will make 139 great too.
There's character development and then there's attack on Titan character development.
Too much nostalgia in yesterday's episode
The hype for this scene was unreal, couldn’t have used a better ost
Shadis is such a relatable character he's not special like levi, erwin, grisha, eren, armin, mikasa, etc. but yet he still has a place in this world no longer is he a bystander saving and leading the same recruits who disrespected him beat him up just because he was never special.
YES!! if there is anyone i could relate to in the whole of AOT, that would be Keith Shadis. Much respect for that man.
Imagine someone just beginning season 1, when the scouts suffered 33% attrition on every mission, and Levi squad aside, everyone felt terror at the sight of a single pure titan. Then they accidentally click this vid and watch them just take care of business like it's nothing. Hange really turned the tide with the invention of thunder spears.
All this time we thought Levi, Erwin, Pixis, Zackly, Mikasa and Eren were the alphas; but it was Jean who was the real alpha among them all this time.
mmmm he surely is an alpha but can’t beat any of those
Jean is good But he can’t top them
Credits to Jean and Keith, they were outstanding in this episode ✊🏻
The scouts are and will ever be the greatest Isayama's creation.
I already know how the story ends, but the anime and the music really elevate this story into eternal masterpiece levels. 😭❤️🔥
Remember when we though AOT was about a hotheaded kid who just wanted to kill every titan that existed, good days. Rest In peace all 3 Branch Commanders.
I feel like this show is a good representation of growing up You start off ignorant of the world outside of your walls, and as you learn more and more and get older you realize how bad the world can be and how politics, hate and beliefs can cause chaos from nothing
Literally getting Season 2 vibes with this song, HOLY my nostalgia

Everything went a full circle and is now coming to an end... These kids have grown up so much.
Watching this episode was way more emotional than reading it when it first came out. I legit starting tearing up after Nile died and then they showed Pixis. All these characters we knew. Gabi, Kaya, and Niccolo's conversation. "We have to get out of the forest".
The way armin said his goodbyes to pixis saying we only survived this far because of you it just reminded me off Erwin rip to the commanders of both corps
I love that they brought this song back. Back in season 2 (or maybe season one) when it first aired it was a motivational war anthem. Now it’s like a desperate battle af the end of the world. This episode was a great return to the good old days I suppose. One last “normal” fight.
I'm glad we're back on "Barricades" it's a good OST
Erwin didn't die. He was divided into two- Jean's balls and Armin's brains.
Mikasa jean armin make a wonderful team
this moment showed how jean does a great role as the squad leader after erwin smith, jean sure was inspired by commander erwin and levi
This is so beautiful, i started crying. The nostalgia hit me, and i just cried when it started playing, and im crying again at this masterpiece
My God, ... scenes from previous seasons came to my mind when this started to play. 😑 This episode was everything as always!
This moment right here was a big moment for Aot’s main characters. It shows us how far they’ve come & how much they’ve grown up.

This was the release I was hoping for from you! This scene was less than 2 minutes but was by far my favorite sequence from season 4. Barricades mixed with the sound of ODM gear and Mikasa + Shadis getting blade kills was awesome! Finish strong and thanks for your work Sam!
That episode was insane. The manga scene was badass, but the anime scene with that song even more insane.
Even though I've already finished the manga, these episodes make everything feel new. So much love for this series ❤🔥
This episode made us remember the times when we thought they were just kids fighting titans.. no schemes, no betrayals...
It's so nice episode... So nostalgic... And there is so many characters we want to see in this scene. Like Sasha, Imir, Historia, Marco and other many

Tatakae!
God. This gives you so much perspective on how far the characters have come. In season one, they would have struggled so greatly to fight all of these titans. And now, they are inspiring the cadets, much like how many of the veterans did for them back in the day. Also, BASED SHADIS? "I don't remember teaching you guys to whimper and cry when you see a titan!"

I love that little hint of "Body motion" (my favourite theme from the OST) around 3:17. I remember how epic and hopeful sounded and it's crazy to see how everything's changed in the show, even the music is darker.
Im so happy and at the same so nostalgic how they use their maneuver gears between houses, the animation was really nostalgic of the AOT we knew and the song chosen was really good. MAPPA really bring back the memories.
As soon as I saw the title I was anticipating it being a remake of barricades. I love it.

I’ve loved Jean from the start so this episode is now one of my favorites. It shows how far Jean has come. From only caring about himself with the goal of becoming an MP to joining the scouts where he shows that Marco was right about him. He makes a great leader.
The hype i felt when i heard barricades come up in the newest episode was immense, almost reverted back to season 1 and 2, killing titans
