From this song, you can see how much Mongolians love horses and respect its culture. Every Mongolian child grow up riding a horse from very young age, and I, myself spent my childhood riding a horse in countryside.
Naadam is a Mongolian National Festival which is celebrated annually on July 11 for 3 days. During the Naadam, all Mongolians enjoy watching as well as participating in wrestling, archery and horse racing. And this song is particularly dedicated to all champion horses of horse racing for Naadam festival.

    • Somehow it shines through from many of the videos here that Mongols have not yet been indoctrinated to feel sorry about their existence, their culture, their diet, or their history. Also, many people there still have the essential survival skills, what it takes to live on the steppe in the yurt. Kudos to them! (See for example "Most Dangerous Ways To School | MONGOLIA | Free Documentary" here in KZhead at kzhead.info/sun/iK-BdpuqnmOKgKs/bejne.html )

It is time for the khan to take the reins again and ride alongside his people. Never lose your ancestral roots, strength and purity, love for the earth and its people in unity and love. simply thank you very much for the music and showing that path that very few dare to travel.

    • Well, since Navajo is a Na-Dené lanugage, it is worthy to add that there is a hypothesis about the connection of the Na-Dené languages and the Yeniseian languages in modern day Russia (but more the asiatic part of Russia). According to this theory, migrations of the Dené people took place after the first trans-Siberian migrations, so the connection with asiatic languages would be stronger. It is also worthy to note that the languages that most-likely influenced the development of North American languages were the Tuvan languages, strongly connected to Mongolic family.

  • Got interested in this type of music when we visited China 14 years ago for adoption purposes and were brought to a Mongolian restaurant with live musicians and singers. I often listen to it when I am doing a translation because the language has completely different roots than English or French so it does not interfere with my translation thought process. :)
