4K CABVIEW: Limited Service and drone shots from Vaksdal
Limited service between Voss and Bergen, and I added drone shots from Vaksdal in this video.
The Service terminates at Vaksdal until December 13th 2020 due to major track works between Trengereid and Bergen. Mainly they are working on connecting the new Ulriken Tunnel to the main network at Arna and in Bergen.
At the same time they are also converting the train protection from D-ATC to F-ATC between Trengereid and Arna. That means we'll be surveilled on all speeds as well as having the maximum line speed presented to us in the ATC-panel. YAY!
Since we have some really good breaks at Vaksdal on some of the trains, I was able to fly the drone to get some shots of the train and area at Vaksdal station.
Enjoy!

Yes yes yes, drone footage from around all the stations would be nice. 😄
Did you see my latest drone video? :D kzhead.info/sun/aMerYpiGqpp-kq8/bejne.html
@@RailCowGirlOf course, loved it. My fav is the flam drone footage. Would be nice if you could get one up over the waterfall at Kjosfossen. 👍
You do really, really well with the drone footage👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼. love it. Glad you are enjoying your vacation.
Does anyone else feel so relaxed when watching these videos? Norway has such beautiful countryside, that light dusting of snow is just so pretty. Thanks @RailCowGirl for another fantastic journey and loving the drone footage too, you really know how to give great content.
The train video's have been a real nice escape from the Covid thing. They help to get through the isolation and boredom of the long days. We'll all feel blessed when we get through this................and we WILL ! 😊😊😊😊😊 Thanks !
Drone shots were great ! RCG you really put a lot of time, effort, and pride into your video's. Really nice and much appreciated ! Thanks !
Fantastic view from the drone
You have a talent of making such a great film, those aerial shots were so incomparable! Cinematic as of the whole video. Thanks!!! Keep them coming please. Take care
Awesome lighting on the valleys and the colours - sigh. Loved the drone shots - a real sense of scale. Thank you RCG.
Glad you enjoyed it :D
Thank you for taking us to work with you that day. We saw an incredibly beautiful countryside from the point of view few will ever experience. We are indeed very grateful.
Just when I think a RCG episode can't get any better it does...🤗
WOohoo! 🙏 ❤️❤️
Wow it’s getting better every time, great vides as usual but with drones views it gives an other dimension, love also how you went from snow ❄️ on the ground to no snow and snow on the ground again , love it 😍 thanks again RCG
Awesome video as always RCG - loved the late morning / early afternoon winter light and the mist. Great Drone shots too. I'm "Pining for the fjords"...
This was/is an absolutely luscious piece of train tripping. Now I notice here as with all of your other videos that you leave the little discussion boxes at the beginning of the video up for way too short a time. The black banner with the white lettering explaining what we will be viewing is so much appreciated but you have me scrambling trying to speed read what you are trying to tell us. Please leave it up for two to three times longer. I cannot read as fast as you want me to read and find myself replaying and replaying the video till I can get most of it … it is most troublesome and inconvenient. Thank you for all that you do here.
Outstanding aerial view, another epic video.
I'm so looking forward to watching this video......and drone shots of the train have me so excited. I just need to find a time I can sit down and watch it from beginning to end without interruption. Thx for doing all the work and sharing these wonderful views. I also found a video from a trucker doing about the same as your are for the train. After watching some of the tiny roads he was driving I can see why trains are a better way to get around in Norway. Even from the roads Norway is so neat to see but I sure don't want to rent a car and drive those tiny roads to see the sights.
It was an amazing Journey with beautiful scenes shoots through Drones. Thanks always
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
I find this so calming.
Just amazing! Love the drone shots
Saved for later view on big TV. Looks and sounds cold! Love your videos Best on KZhead!!!
From 55:06 beautiful sunlight conditions. Perfect! And the drone shots are a very good idea.
Drone what Drone!! .. She's been skydiving again!!!
OMG! Thanks for the view from the drone, - the beauty is incredible! 😍
The lighting at the departure from Vaksdal is fantastic!!
I found the time to watch this video and it was wonderful. Totally awesome and those drone views took my breath away. I thought maybe the trains had gotten real quiet. There was no rumble anymore. LOL my subwoofer had lost its connection and wasn't putting out the rumble of the trains. Sad but I managed to wiggle the connection and it's working again. Now I can watch it all over again with the train rumble. The rumble of the rails always puts me to sleep and I get motion sickness so I would never make a good train driver, more power to RailCowGirl. Thx for doing all the work and sharing these wonderful views.
And can I come to visit you, I loved these landscapes so much that I want to see them live.
Thank you :D
Another great cabview a landscape!! 👍👌
Great Drone work ! smooth and cinematic . Being of Norse extraction, its great to see the land of my ancestors.
I love your video's and streams :) keep it up!
i just love the long shadows on the fjords and in the valleys when the sun is low .. i think the lighting adds so much railway romance .. atmosphere - whatever you wanna call it stanghelle in the low sun´s light = wonderful :)
wow, one of your most beautiful videos. the light was amazing!!!
Thank you so much 😃
Great video and good ride vibes sensation of this train perfect 👀🚆👌
Love your drone shots and @ the same frame rate too as the railway journey. Great stuff!
Awesome! Thank you!
Merci 🌺
Good video, drone shots were a nice touch too :) Thanks for sharing.
Amazing drone shots above Vaksdal, I love it.
Glad you liked it!
Wow, another great video, plus now I understand how it looks like when sun is just 9°over horizon! Cheers to more snow!
I know, right? ❤️😃 Thank you ❤️
@@RailCowGirl Yeah, always welcome, you are obviously the one of the best creator of YT❤
Opäť krásne natočené video 😃😃😃😃. Perfektné super 😃😃😃. Srdečne pozdravujem zo Slovenska 😃😃😃😃.
Good match between shots and music
Wou, great great show. The picture and music are fantastic.... Thank you.....
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you so much!
Nice. Thank you.
Beautiful ride!
Thanks!
I love the colors of shades of blue with the white.
When I need relax I come here !!!
Perfect, perfect, perfect! Q: Is the RCG channel the best railroad channel on YT? A: Yes, it is! And with this drone video is on another new level. Thank you RCG for the pleasant evenings on the norwegian railways. 👍
Wow, thank you so much!
Hello. You never stop surprising! Great idea with a drone. Thank you very much. Getting to work by car is also interesting, although I would prefer a slower pace. Well, generally 5+ if I'm allowed to rate. Greetings from Poland.
1:04:11. That curve of light on the steep mountainside is otherworldly...
I know! When I saw that, I was like: "This is why I love this job, RIGHT THERE!"
@RailCowGirl really enjoyed the drone video that you took during your layover in Vaksdal. So today, 12/13, trains should be going through to Bergen again and I look forward to your first video of the new tunnel. Hope that you have a most wonderful holiday.
The shots from the air are amazing. You cannot see these stations like that from the train. Thank you for those shots. More stations later ?, I hope.
Glad you enjoyed it
@@RailCowGirl I hope you'll do one for Trengereid, although it's not your turning station.
love it! can't stop watching these videos!! I need to make a cab ride video sometime too! Thank you for this!
I love Norway and to be able to enjoy this great country in the snow from the train is really great. Greetings from Switzerland RNA 🏔
The Arial Shots Were Amazing.
More of those with other words :D
@@RailCowGirl Yes please. And tell your friends in Vy to shoot cool stuff like you do on L2, L21 and Lillestrøm line. :) We need more trains. Trains cure covid-19 and loneliness-anxiety. Trains (and metro) is the salt of life.
@@SubwayNerd I can't ask that of them. They need to have the capacity and know when it's OK to do it. You know.. It takes about 32 hours to edit these videos as well.. A lot of time and effort is put into this.
@@RailCowGirl I know. Not doing it as pro as you do. But it takes time to edit stuff. I just would love seeing local stuff. But understand it can be difficult.
@@RailCowGirl hello, how are night trains in Europe? I am considering moving to Europe from the US in the future.
Good video! It's really cold over there.
@RailCowGirl It's Interesting How It Can Go From Snow To No Snow Back To Snow In A Certain Distance. Also, That Drone Shot Was AWESOME!
it would be interesting to see the train control process. 👍😉
Another pleasurable drive alongside you. Hope you are keeping safe and well. The drone footage was lovely - how about some drone filming around Voss? xx
The landscape of Norway ist breathtaking. the part when driving through the snowy landscape ist definitly to short ;)
HERMOSO
雪地美景😃❤️❤️❤️
Para los que no conocemos esos lugares estos viajes en el tren son muy representativos de su pais Saludos desde la Republica O del Uruguay
Drone shots were awesome. I wanted to thank you for answering my snowdrift question last week. Does the amount of snow ever get so deep you get delayed and they have to send special equipment for snow removal?
Beautiful landscapes! But there is little snow.
Great as is now turning into a norm. Loved the drone overfly, repeated several times looking for you, hm think I saw from where but not sure...
Makes me really happy that you're saying that :D Always trying to improve :D
I like that house up on the right at 8:07. It has kind of a golden gingerbread look. I see the scaffolding is down, now and it looks all brand new. :) The mountains in snow, mist and filtered light - wow! At 1:21:28 - what? It looks like a giant rock face on the side of the hill to the left.
Nice Thank you
Thank you!
@@RailCowGirl Truly awesome thank you
Fab video as always. I never tire of them. I have a question though... What has been arranged regarding all the freightliner traffic from Bergen? Is it all going by road, or are they shipping into Trondheim or somewhere else?
Thanks for another excellent video. When you backup a train do you always have have to go to the back of train and drive it from there?
I was watching this on my phone and I saw it is in 4k so I switched to my main PC and it looks soooo good. this video is worth using 4k to watch it.
Glad to hear that! Thank you!
Fantastic videos and soothing voice. These night-snowing videos remind me of Polar Express..have you watched it?
Hey your movies are Fantastic Beautiful💜💥🙏💥💜
Very Nice 👌👌🎧🎶
Thanks a lot!
Do you always do a walk around train inspection before leaving, just like airplane pilots? I guess no freight trains running with the closure. How long did that last?
@RailCowGirl Beautiful video. God Jul ☃️
Thank you! God jul!
Speeding Norwegians again!! 🤣. Great video and drone shots too. ❤️
HAHAHA! Always :D ❤️❤️
New sub here, 333 sent me! Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful video.
Thanks and welcome!
3:12 Wow Voss has grown so much over the last two years.
Vakkert
Selv takk for at du ser på :)
22:55 Arrival and departure, going back in time? Tunnels must be portals into the past haha.
Don’t be so picky 🤣❤️
@@RailCowGirl Not being picky, just trying to get a rise out of you and it worked! I've always loved your videos and virtually sitting in the drivers seat is a thrill. Thank you for endless hours of beautiful scenery and memorable trips onboard. 💝 Merry Christmas to you!
snow, train, drone - what could be better? snow sounds pretty crunchy in Norway
If it crunches it means its at or below -15'c
😍😍😍
Due to the works on the line, is this a correct overview: the long distance trains turns at Voss, The local trains turns at Vaksdal and the freight trains goes to Trengereid, then gets a diesel loco and continues to Bergen. Is that somewhat correct?
Sam, I can tell you that you're COMPLETELY CORRECT! :D
Thank you RailCowGirl
Thank you for watching!
That was the end of the line (for now). So will there be a "Grand Opening" of the new tunnels?
R.C.G. appreciate the main light when in a tunnel, nothing more disconcerting than hurling at 100mph into blackness, and not being able to see anything in front, besides, tunnels are interesting. Regards to ALL , - - from Scotland. (P.S. Does that coupling device retract into the set, so that the buffers are able to act as buffers ?)
That buffer is an emergency buffer with anti-climbing rilles: it is only meant to be active in case of a crash. There are retracting couplers on high-speed trains which need to have a smooth nose for aerodynamics when not coupled.
@railcowgirl what is the tune you use at the beginning of the video? Not normally my genre but it is rather catchy.
👏👍💯🎥🚂✋ de Argentina
Hello Argentina, thanks for watching :)
Once again, you drew the train parked farthest out in the weeds!
And yet again, you prove that you're the cabview KZheadr who employs the best technology & puts the most effort into these videos! In addition to the drone shots, I have noticed in this one that when you exit tunnels, unlike on your earlier videos, the brightness setting changes to fit the outside before the tunnel exit already. Is this some better automatics in your camera, or do you do it manually?
Wow, thank you! ❤️❤️❤️ Before I used the Gopro and it would automatically just adjust itself with "success", now I just run one setting and change everything in post editing. It takes more time, but I think the results are much better. :) The Camera has 13 stops of dynamic range so it's impressive the information you can get out even in darkest areas :D
@@RailCowGirl Wow, so all of this is post editing! Yes, the results are great!
There are many things that are done in post. Each video takes about 32 - 72h to edit. We're talking hours with pure editing. so 72h / 8 = 9 days of work On top of that comes the encoding/rendring which is between 7 and 28h depending on the length and complexity of the video :) So yes :) A lot of work is put down into these videos. So I truly understand why there aren't many real train drivers here that posts videos themselves. It is a lot of work because of changing lights, conditions etc etc.
@@RailCowGirl I already saw in another comment of yours how much time this takes, now I have a better idea of why! By "here", you mean Norway? There are a lot of train driver videos on KZhead from Germany, for example, but 99% of them don't even approach your levels of quality, with the crisp images, multiple angles (that winter Flåm Railway video!...), good sound, chapterisation, intro/outro, and loads of accompanying information.
RCG, are they going to let you make the first trip thru the new tunnel? If not they reallly should.
The first one will be the one who has that on the roster. They don't select who gets to go through first :)
Considering all the tunnels some 5 miles (over 8000m) long it must have taken a while to complete this route. Anyone know the cost to ride from one end to the other, would be a great trip while on vacation?
You can get fares as low as 299NOK per person one way :) watch out for those low fare tickets and order well in advance. You can also do a Norway in a Nutshell trip that covers the most popoular locations here: www.norwaynutshell.com or directly from the operator of the Bergen line (train tickets only) www.vy.no
Bom dia. Seus vídeos são excelente. Os trens são um luxo e muito bonito. Moro no rio de janeiro Brasil. Os trens aqui do Brasil são um um lixo sob trilhos.
Why are there so many fallen trees @ 15 + minutes? Fire?
She's such a good train driver that she's learned how to phase through the doors instead of open them.
Lol, yes, I'm the train whisperer ;)
14:44 - Anyone else "See" the face in the rocks on the left just before the cut?
lol
Yup, had to go back 4-5 seconds to catch it, but I DID!
Eri tu ???
what's the average saturation of Seating capacity on runs between BERGEN - Other side of Mountains ? :)
Approximately 500 pax.
RCG, what is the story on the two barricaded tunnels at Dale?
There is really now story about that. ;) Look for the cables over the door ;) and you'll quickly understand that it is the location of converters that converts 38 - 50KV 50hz 3phase to 16KV 16 2/3hz 1phase... which powers the railway :D
Would not mind at all if you would slow down your video trip to the train at the start of this video … really enjoyed that front end and it deserves to be a bit more ‘slower’ motion.
You can see RCG operating the drone starting at 53:52 standing next to the train track wearing a white jacket and dark pants. You need full screen or hopefully large HD TV.
Hight visibility jacket :)
