I wish we could hear the improvised anthem
darude - sandstorm
Captain MacMillan please stop, that joke is old now.
It was "Milkshake" by Kelis.
Luxemburg, greatest country in the world All other countries are run by little girls..
And see the improvised torch with underpants on it
"Craziest mistakes at the Olympics", yet no mention of the 3000m Steeplechase final in 1932? For those unaware, the person in charge of the lap counter was distracted by the long jump in the decathlon and forgot to change the sign, meaning the athletes had to run an extra lap.
Bruhhhhhh... I would be so mad😯 I'm mad just thinking about that😡
That's a really cool fun fact.
The fact that both track and field events take place in the same venue means that was inevitable...
Omg really? Those poor athletes. Imagine what that did to their bodies, ouch
Not funny@all. Imagine coming in first, only to be overtaken later on.
Dude from Luxembourg might have been the oldest ever medalist but that's not shocking nor is the band not knowing the anthem for that country. What was the most shocking was in Sydney 2000 when the vault was set too low in the ladies event leading to some of the best gymnasts crashing out. That was the biggest Olympic fail of all time.
Wow😮🤦🏾♀️
I always thought someone tried to Samotarge a gymnast by setting the vault to low but it would do it to them all
@@angeliastone-tolcher2386 No it was just plain incompetence. There were complaints about the floor apparatus too. They were lucky no one was seriously hurt or killed on the vault though.
He was 25.
he was only 25
I laughed really hard at the anthem story. And then when he mentioned that the champ cried, I lost it. World's greatest mystery; why did he cry? We will never know
That poor horse.... 0:13
I know when I see anything sports wise with horses I wish nothing but paralyses on there jockeys, if the horses go down hard, I want the horses if possible to roll onto the jockey and break every bone in there body . The jockeys choose to ride, the horse don't choose to run and jump on ridiculously designed courses that are made to practically as difficult as possible for them to finish, without some glory hound idiot sitting on there backs.
@@LISA75_ Their not there! I wish you'd gone to school.
"gaze in hushed awe at a pair of flaming underpants" Now _there_ is a sentence not said often. :D
😂😂😂😂
*when you’re godly enough to prank one of the most important sporting events in the world*
The Philippine basketball team was the biggest victim of the inaugural Olympic basketball tournament in 1936. The squad lost only once but had to settle for fifth place because of the quirk in the rules. They placed behind Mexico, which they beat in Round 2 and Poland, which lost in Round 1. Both Mexico and Poland needed wins in the consolation round to keep their medal hopes alive but the Filipinos never had a chance after losing to the USA in the quarterfinals as organizers decided to make it a knockout round from Round 3 onwards. The organizers should have just made it a double elimination round to be fair to every team.
That torch thing event is probably the most aussie thing that could’ve occured at an Aussie olympics, that and someone doing a shoey
LOL!! That last guy should be an Australian treasure. Forget Paul Hogan, Kylie Minogue and Yahoo Serious. "Flaming underwear on a stick guy" is tops.
As an Australian, I want this too
Basketball was played outdoors in Europe for a long time, not just at the 1936 Olympics. The first European Championship to be played indoors were in 1961, in Belgrade.
I don't think the fact that it was outdoors was the issue. it was the fact that it was on a tennis court made of clay and it was bad conditions for a basketball game. Id assume the outdoor courts at the European championships were a better surface to dribble on.
In some places it was really played on clay, probably different than the one used for tennis but still clay. In Yugoslavia after the Second World War, most teams had clay courts. Red Star won the first ten championships, and we (Partizan fans) joke that they won Roland Garros like Nadal.
Сава Стевановић
The Russian fencing team turned up to the 1908 London Olympics 12 days late because they were using a different calendar.
Really? Hahaha
😂😂😂
After watching some of the car crash videos, the Russians would be there early now if they didn't crash on the way lol
What about the year the vault was set too low in the Women’s Gymnastics All Around in Sydney 🙁
Love this series
A horse falling on its face with a funny sound effect. How hilarious.
I've always been waiting for the new 'Strangest Moments' videos from this channel
Please stop ruining good videos with daft 30 second skits that are totally out of place.
I like them, they are the funny bits.
@@communistpropagandist4608 yeah its comedic relief, its funny i like it as well
I think its nice add some humor.
@@communistpropagandist4608 i like the skits but jan and nelly are horrid
They're not ruining anything, don't be absurd.
The 19-8 match of Canada an the US it was probably more because of the non-existance of the 24 sec. clock rather than the field, it's possible to play basketball without dribling, it's boring, but possible
Isn't that Netball?
I believe it’s called netball... lmao
@@RickyPro888 I come from a country where we have a televised netball league but no televised basketball league
It is called NETBALL. Australia's national sport for women and wannabees.
4:19 mister maker ripoff😅
Well, the series is cool!!!😂🤣😜
One great mistake is taking karate out the 2024 olympics
Is that true?
One great mistake is taking karate out the 2024 olympics
And then introducing breaking as Olympic sport for no reason...
Amazing Ozs
Playing on normal ground like at the match in Germany is like stepping on LEGO while eating it too
This is just too good
3:26 Tom Hanks carrying the torch.
I'm surprised the 1972 Munich basketball finals was not mentioned
We don't want to remember 1972, for a very good reason.
@@wedgeantilles4712 Exactly lol
What happened
How about the 2 US 100 meter sprinters at the 1972 Munich games. Their race was at 14 :00, but the US track coach didn't understand military time, so he thought it was for 4 o'clock, not 2 pm which is 14:00. European countries use the 24 hour military time clock. Valeri Borzov then won the 100 meter final, and won the 200 as well. Back then the 200 meters wasn't that important, which you could see by the slow times back then.
Lmfaoooo the first one killed meeeeeeeee😂
I wouldn’t be surprised if Duck On A Rock was an Olympic event. Duck On A Rock is the predecessor to basketball where you have to throw a rock to try to knock another rock off a bigger rock
the australians have always been like that.
Bloody oath mate.
I love that the band just played smooth jazz
Here before 30 million veiws
The first one was hilarious 😂
first one was crazy!!!
Ahh the good old times when swimmers used the grab start

Where is the Upside down flag for estonian gold medalist Erika Salumäe in 1992 barcelona olympics? Should be in this list for sure
This is really funny
Very funny 😀😃🤩

Unforeseen

Surely that’s cheating! Having two win instead of one 😝
Why Philippines got no medal when it only lost once to USA in 1936?
So it was a pair of burning underpants LM*O
Yeah biggest mistakes happen in the boxing
The anecdotes are amusing but you overdid it with your skits.
