  • The fact this song is 22 years old and now being introduced to a new generation due to the saltburn movie all these years later is pretty amazing plus Sophie has barely aged a day would be great to see it get to number one

  • I love how not only the song is tied to Saltburn but the video as well. She reigned victorious after literally taking down each opponent. That is insane to me. It could be total coincidence but it feels almost as if the whole film is a sort of homage, or at least inspired by the song which is so incredible. Either way, a BRILLIANT use of song in a film. Dare I say, one of the best I've seen. Though I've always known the song, I have a new appreciation and love for it especially after seeing the video. I'm having such a great time diving into the rest of Sophie's music. I highly recommend all to do the same if you haven't already!

Back when this came out, we were wondering why tunes weren't as catchy on the whole as they were back in the '80s etc. Every generation looks back to the classics of the previous era, but at the time those good songs came out they were buried in a ton of dross too. Years later only the gold is remembered. You wait, in 2030 people will be leaving comments on the top tunes from 2017 going "man, the songs were so much better back then, wtf happened". • She used to be a fashion model, then she became a singer. But every time I watch this music video, I can't help thinking she would have been a wonderful actress. Edit: I would never have thought, so many people would agree with me. Love from France.

    • When I saw this video as a kid, I always thought she must be an awful person in real life too. And I still don't like her to this day, so I probably wouldn't like her as an actress either. Some roles just stick with the actor for a lifetime. Like Bruce Willis will always be the guy from Die Hard... But the music's awesome.

    • @@nahuelconstantineyeah i’m aware we aren’t the center of the universe and I’ve never believed as such. I’m saying it makes sense for them to spend the most money promoting it in their location of origin (home field advantage ) vs other countries. But op is acting like Americans deliberately slept on this when it was never even brought to the table 💀 you can’t enjoy something you aren’t aware exists. Plus KZhead and other streaming services weren’t what they are now, back then… we have algorithms now that can push forward other content that matches what you listen to. Ai is a thing… like exposure to international artists was limited unless they spent $$$$ for international promo and it mattered what platforms you consumed music from as well.

    • The use of GD in the lyrics didn’t help its case for radio play. The US is deeply puritanical and usage of foul language was just not accepted in female pop music. The ones who used it in their songs, didn’t get to experience the same level of success. Not even Madonna could get away with cussing in music. It’s a different story after 2003.

  • I just had my first prom ever and at the end of the prom a lot of people started to leave and this was the last song but a group of my friends started dancing to the song although prom was about to end, i couldn’t help but join them and then some other people who stayed for thee last song joined in and it felt like we were the only people in the world just jamming out. Prior to this i had not much social interaction outside my house because of strict parents and being with those friends and this song and just dancing was pure ecstasy definitely a song im gonna cry happy tears to later.
