I'm convinced the ChatGPT works for BMW
🤣
some of the AI designed cars that are flooding social media at the moment look actually extremely good. ChatGPT would do it so so much better than this.
You US trashtalkers are ridiculous!@@LittleMissSmallPaw
I'm convinced people repeating such statements are a mindless mob.
I am not convinced that you are not an AI chatbot.
I’m actually quite fond of this one surprisingly. I like the proportions when seen from the side. I think they pulled it off just right with a combination of a lower belt line, bigger windows and that execution of the hofmeister kink on the d pillar. Strong gen 1 X5 vibes! Still on the fence on the front end and interior though.
Its better with the kidney grille lights turned off imo
Sorry, but this car is absolutely hideous. BMW has fallen of so badly…
I gotta agree with you. I wanted to hate this one, but I can’t for some reason.
@@philipleminhtien9942 i think its that gen 1 X5 proportions that got me
@@nerdalert1980 I would agree to this 100%
I’m gonna be honest, I like those kidney grills. Without it it’s just a regular car.
Yea those grill are old school BMW grills
I agree, this is such an important part of BMW’s identity. Without it it’s not as recognizable.
what about the rest of that terrible looking car
@@nicholasrucinski1651 well, anything will be terrible to someone. As for me, I actually find this car quite distinguishable and good looking.
Exactly. Without those throwback kidneys it would look so plain jane and basic.
huge improvement compared to previous designs in the past few years
I'm not sure it's an improvement, but it's definitely something different.
💯. I find it crazy Bembli is saying no to it and preferring the sedan's giant grille trendwhoring. 🤦
@@aldrichuyliong8143just goes to show u how right people are. Everyone said the big grilles would end up being a timeless classic and u already see people coming around to them and loving them alot more.
I’m actually happy they added the kidney grill otherwise it don’t really look like a bmw.
Agree but imo, they shouldn't light it up. Looks off at distance, as here 0:44
@@TurboGlennyeahhh maybe tune down the brightness imo
@@plastiquemaraj8839 Yes that might be better
While Kia/Hyundai are killing the design game, BMW is killing themselves with their own designs. Oh how interesting these times are.
Genesis is even better!😎👍
😂😂😂😂 They don't want to look good anymore
Well their sales certainly don't reflect that. Not even close.
Complete 180 from where things used to be its crazy
No, these look better, honestly.
Honestly I like Neue Klasse, I don’t understand what people are asking from a BMW SUV? Do people want a lifted F30? What you want? This is literally how E30 would look like in 2024!
Then why is it ugly?
Unlike most others, I do like the proper revivial of a 2002 style of vertical grill with the horizontal grills around it. The problems I have with this is that BMW just seems to want to remove the Angel Eyes and give their cars this generic Devil's Fangs. There's also all the unneccessary angular design - not every line has to be a super sharp crease, not every joint between lines have to have 0 radius! Lastly, if only they could keep the beltline a straight line and not have some unneccessary random slight upward kink? Just keep the beltline straight until it ends off with a clean sharp Hoffmeister kink.
😉 I guess, they are still experimenting with Design elements but as a Brand they should allways stick to some Key Design Elements at least... The oversized Kidneys was a Experiment gone wrong, with the smaller Kidneys they are back on Track!👍
02 not 2002
I agree with this guy
@@sinikv7228 The car is based on the 1970s style of bmws like the 02.
i love this design, avant garde.
I swear i feel like BMW is just doing a hail mary throwing random shit at a wall trying to see what sticks
Their sales have been growing year over year since 2014. They made record sales recently and the i4 is their best selling car. I don't like this design but they seem to be working.
@@noorghani5053 That’s because people will buy anything the car market throws at them
@@khanmimaad i think it's rather because they expanded their lineup to include a lot of consumer products while the enthusiasts are more and more left waiting in the rain.
@@HanYou2brotha the enthusiast are eating up the new m3 and m4. Bmw has sold TRIPLE the amount of their new g8x m3 and m4s per year then their old f8x models. People love them, myself included. They look super aggresive and turn heads everywhere.
I agree with the front. The sedan is better. I like the kidney "grill" being the lights versus the skinny kidneys. The render you showed from c&d was definitely better.
I like this new Style with the Oldschool 70s Kidneys! I hope they keep this Style now since other Carbrands like Opel are very sucessful with their Oldschool Manta/Camaro Front Design too! Just my 2 cents and thoughts...😉
I love the iX and the iX3 i like what BMW is doing, would own any of them with no problem.
The front end looks like a sea turtle.
Still better than the hideous pig snouts of their recent productions, but obviously not as good as their 20th-century purebred stallions.
@@fluxcapacitor those pig snouts have tripled bmw sales per year.
@@user-my4xu4gf1z Which proves that most people have no taste.
@@fluxcapacitor Agree.
I thought it looked like rat teeth
Needs the 4 round headlights.
...and a inline six cylinder engine too!!!😎👍
BMW needs to stop redefining its key features like twin angel eyes and the Hoffmeister kink. I think they can play around with the grill abit, but they should never remove the quad circle (or hexagonal, at least) headlights
@@groundedgamingThe circles can go, unhealthy attachments.
Hire this man #BMW
I personally prefer having clear kidneys rather than the extra large "kidney+grille", especially considering that everyone was complaining about BMW kidneys becoming too large. It could be improved to minimize the "clashing" with the front headlights, but a sizeable grill is preferable for a car with a bonnet that high. I don't mind the side profile: imo, it's better to consider it a "no shoulder line" car (the current 4-series already has something similar). My only issues: the vertical "cuts" in the bottom part of the bumpers...and the "TV" in the middle of the dash.
WTF IS THAT THING
You’re thinking of an old VW from the 70s!
All EV’s look awful. Each one of them.
@@1980venomporsche taycan , rimac nevera and others looks good
I think the issue with the skinny vertical kidneys is while it worked very well for say the 2002.. the models they have placed it on so far are soo much wider & larger in general. It creates a weird balance to the overall look.
Don’t like the look of this SUV, but Looooove the CAR concept!
Unlike many other hater comments I do like this Design!👌 It looks way better than all their other ugly IX, XM, 5 Series, 4 Series, 1 and 2 Series 💩, they did in the last years!😜 Looks like they finally found their way/path again!👍
Im with you but the 2 series is BOSS
That’s very true bro
It’s an improvement from the IX, but anything is an improvement from the IX
Overall it’s actually a good design. The front could have been better but not a deal breaker for me without seeing the final product. 👍🏾
I love it. I see a little of the IDx Nismo design on the front end.
Concerning modern car interiors, I am full well convinced that modern manufacturers are saying "can't be offensive if there is nothing to be offended by"
Lets be honest, the era of great bmw, mercedes and audi designs, is over. Because we desperately trying to make futuristic looking cars, we make disgusting souless mistakes instead. Today, the Hyundai, Toyota, Kia, Peugeot are the new leaders of great design for mid range cars.
All BMW designers went to Kia and Kia designers came to BMW. What a great deal BMW. Well done.
i wont be negative folks ...but...i can say without any hesitation...we will not find in the next few models the BMW as we knew-it in the glorious past. they lost the DESIGN-TRACK for good this time. that is my opinion and i m not the only one to think like this. this design is not the result of some artistic HUMAN inspiration and passion....this is the result of the A.I sketches....ready/COLD AS ICE/BASIC/AND WITHOUT ANY AUTOMOTIVE EMOTION/ we miss the circular shapes of the front lights combined with a slim well designed front grill. BMW is not the same it is not that car full of emotions after MR CHRIS BANGLE stunning LINES. GODBLESS THAT MAN. (respect from a french guy 😉)
👌👌👌 Nice. The sedan will be more my style. I think they did a good job with these Neue Klasse designs.
This Neue Klasse design looks good. And proves once again how subjective design is and how you can't please everyone
I have shown this to a friend and the first thing they said is “that looks like the very specific mustache of a very famous evil person during WWII”… now I cannot unsee it…
hee hee
Everyone talked so much shit about their massive grilles for so long so they they said fuck it and went in the complete opposite direction 😂
It was so close. The saloon/sedan concept is like this without the added grille - it was smart as it was if the kidney grille was stretched across the whole front and becomes the whole face and lights. This design kinda has another kidney grille slapped on.
I was afraid I would live long enough to see the glaciers melt, but to see BMW turn to this? I could never imagined.....
The front diffuser really looks like 🙏 and now I can’t unsee it
I adore this design! (including the kidneys in the front, they harmonise perfectly with the rest imo). And regardless from where you look, you know immediately that this is a BMW without having to see the logo. I also like that the windows are becoming bigger again. I hate those modern cars (/tanks) with those little embrasures.
You sort of want to agree with the back to old school BMW grille but the overall sheetmetal says still a lot of things to improve. This isn't a ggod design language or direction, not convincing still.
Love the interior! The reason for the angled screen is both visual and practical. Visual, to draw the attention to the driver, like the old interiors used to be angled to the driver. Functional, because its a touch screen, its super convenvient for the right hand from the wheel to the screen. Surprised you didnt «see» this as a designer.
The standing kidney bmw said is for their SUVS lineup the horizontal is what they are going to use for all of the non SUVs. I love this more Organic design language. I just hope they don't dumb it down for the production.
That render is amazing.
Love this Neue Klasse X design. Especially the front end. It has very strong 80's and early 90's BMW design. The kidney grill is the correct size. Only thing I wish would be different would be the LED strips that look like lights should have gone back to about 80% rounded out light signatures.
Absolutely digging this!! Can't wait to see what they do with the M verions ix3M and iM3!! Nice new direction BMW let's go! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
a couple of things: 1. I think the kidneys look great. 2. Not having a light bar in the back makes it nowadays distinguishable from other brands 3. the interior looks amazing (and yes, it will not go into production like that). You said there is nothing exciting about it, I have to say that compared to an Audi Q6 e tron interior, this I levels ahead and feels really futuristic. I do not understand your hate for new interiors and modern approaches. Seems like you do not want to let the past go and adapt. I get that a Tesla Interior is just dull but this interior design makes me want to get behind the steering wheel immediately. Thanks for the fast upload and nice content. Cheers
I think if they just made grilles not stick out of the lights or stick out slightly, kinda like their older designs, it would've been great.
Every new BMW design since 2019-2020 is a step forward and a step backward... miss those days where every release was a absolute banger.
How long last your previous laptop or smartphone ? 3-5 years maybe... I hope it will better with theses but nothing indicate this. Premiums should be focus on making long lasting products that you can transfert to your loved one or at least will garantee you a good value when you sell it.
I disagree with your assessment of the taillights.I think they look well thought out and bold.
9:35 the shoulder line of the original Oldsmobile Toronado was just as brash, if not more. The shoulder line in that car is almost a rocker kick.
How about dynamic kidneys? The faster you go the wider the kidney light signature becomes. So, looking friendly and small in town and Agressive on the motorway in the rear view mirror approaching?
This design is pretty rad actually. It so out there and so incredibly forward thinking but still weirdly cool and well proportioned. Nailed it! Y’all will agree with me at some point.
I love the two Neue Klasse concepts. I agree that the grill should've stayed similar to the sedan concept. The interior is gorgeous.
I actually like, how BMW´s design morphes into something modern. After loosing the plot with these monster kidneys (2. gen. 4 series and so on) they now hit in the right direction. It´s always a good sign, when people disklike a new design. It will grow on them in most cases. Every design belongs to its time. You cannot bring back the design of, for example, the old 6 series with its big glashouse, tiny window pillars and sharknose. These times are over and won´t come back.
I love the front end, much prefer it to that render with the sedan grille, which I think looks more pedestrian.
Awesome! Love this !
I actually like the x’s design better than the sedan’s. It connects better to BMW history, especially the 80’s era e30s, e32, etc. where the grilles were narrow but there was still negative space with on the horizontal plane. I think they could make the grille work better if they used the 3D effect to create a negative rake as in the e24 and w28.
This guy is right we can't see any human touch in automative designs after 2018
Totally agree on the Neue Klasse car's front being far better than the SUV's. If the wagon has the car's front and the SUV's rear, it'll be fantastic.
I actually love it, I’ve hated everything BMW have released for years but I feel this design is much more deliberate and cohesive
Beautiful design. Kidneys in front give character to car
I like this Design. Kidney Looks like my first 3series E30.
🙏🙏keep going
It’s like so close to being so good . I think they were afraid to abandon the kidney grill and panicked but I feel like they could have implemented it way better. It looks great from the side and back
Looks better than previous design
I like the classic, vertically stretched kidney design. I see potential in this model.
I like the side profile, and short front overhang. Rear looks ok. Front end looks pretty meh. Kidneys and headlights need work
I think this design with rear wheel drive proportions would look great
The one thing that BMW has seemed to be sensitive to and successful with in the recent industry trends is transitioning to EVs in a gradual and sensible way (e.g., ICEs and EVs as variations on the same platform). Maybe this is the same logic as using the Neue Klasse X as a bridge to the Neue Klasse sports sedan. In other words, the small, narrow kidney grill is instantly recognizable as a BMW but the rest of the front perhaps prepares people for a new aesthetic. Just a thought.
Looks as great as the original X5! Very happy with this.
I can’t believe that I’m saying that but I love the exterior design I think it looks great
If you want to hetter understand the front design, google BMW 2000. That was one of the first succesfull BMW‘s car back in the days.
Absolutely agree it’s a massive departure from the current design, but for some reason, it still doesn’t work for me.
If you look at 2002, the kidney are flush with the rest of the graphics. If you reduce the height of the kidneys to be flush with the headlamps units, I think that would work. Otherwise, I can't believe I'm saying this for a modern BMW, but this design is growing on me...
I love it. Including the retro smaller vertical kidneys. I like that they are not fully harmonious as that would feel more muted from a brand perspective. Take them away and it’s less distinctly a BMW. Could be a Hyundai.
Well done BMW , now its Tesla. We were complaining about exterior design and now we lost also interior. Sad.
two things i think when i see the Neu Klasse; the sedan have a lot of Alfa Romea look and the suv have a lot bmw i3 reuse.
I like these neue klasse design though
Are the kidney grills for the sensors?
If it's for the senors, the sedan would have it too. So I really hope it's not necessary for the sensors.
Better than the 5er & 4er but still not great
This is much better than any of the garbage they've been releasing in the last few years. It's back to sane design. They should go for it.
BMW LOVE THEIR FRONT GRILL which for me is the major trade mark coz any bmw. First to look at is the grill
Make the front kidneys smaller and make their height equal to the horizontal bars of the lighting.. that should look realy realy good.
It's like when you make a character in a game and pull all the sliders to min or max just to see what it does but instead of resetting they press confirm.
looking like the previous X2 side view
Tesla has had an indelible mark on the automotive industry for sure! Especially on Scandinavian style interior. Regardless this approach is far better than whatever nonsense bmw has been producing lately
Soon this design language will be known as BMW’s “Beaver” era.
I like the design and it looks really futuristic but simple and modern at the same time .
Interior looks like the new navigator from a dash perspective.
Huge improvement over the fugly beaver and arsefaced grilles from the iX and 4 series.
I feel like BMW being made by Germans had the success they had in the past by prioritising function over form. The cars looked the way they did because they needed to look that way to be that good (while aerodynamics was not a top priority back then). So the car wheels ended up in the corners of the car, the grill was only as big as it needed to be, there was a straight waist line just for panel rigidity, the wheels were the right size for the performance, interior was intuitive and anatomic, controls in the right places, driver seated in the perfect spot. Now for some reason the same Germans feel the need to exercise their creativity beyond functionality and I feel like their process is similar to me drawing some random lines with a ruler to see what interesting shape I can get. Them trying to be creative is the same as them trying to be funny, which is a shame because their cars do feel damn good to drive
I like much better audi's conservative approach, where improvements are made only where there's something to improve
In my opinion, BMW has taken a huge step back to the Gina concept. And this is good
I thought I’d never say this again, but I really like the kidneys in this model. And I’d love to see 4 rounded lights instead of those 4 bars to have more 70’s decade vibe. Overall I like the exterior design, but the rear head lights don’t look BMW at all.
huge improvement - best bmw design in about 20 years. Totally disagree about the grill - thoroughly sick of the oversized kidney grills and they look way better than the render you showed. You need to watch the Top Gear walk through with the designer who also designed the sedan as well. The Kidneys vertical dimension suit the height of the SUV much better was his reasoning and I agree.
The more polarizing it is, the better for BMW. It's the cybertruck philosophy.
Looks okay I suppose. I don't like that the got rid of the classic BMW duck tail
The front somehow looks odd, but I do really like that they brought back the kidneys. Maybe the headlights need to be more round to make it work better. It doesn't have a proper face with these headlights. Also I think the bumper does not work that well with these kidneys. The front is always the face of a car and just like with people when you look at the face, look into the eyes you can see the personality. BMW still has unresolved personality issues, but with these concepts I can see some hope for the future.
It looks great!
While I like the other design you showed more (the one with the wide kidneys), it looks a bit boring and like a Fisker. This isn’t the prettiest, but it is striking and a big breakthrough in design. You won’t get used to it and get bored of it so easily.
The front light design + grill make it look like two phallic objects mirror at the base….
I like the new design and the 'nose'. Fight me
Circular headlights would improve it 1000%
@@vehicles_n_stuff oh yea definitely. Thats a classic
The side view is a snooze fest. Looks like a Nissan Rogue.
beautiful design. it's the best looking BMW of the past 5 years
I guess BMW is going for dedication because in Europe we have Opel(or Vauxhall for our British friends) which have the „Vizor“ or sth. Which is also a black panel in like this design of the neue klasse sedan . So I guess bmw put its kidney in there for recognition.
I don’t know why, but I like the front and especially the front lights🤷🏻♂️
