To me this fight represents life for a lot of people out there. From the first bell, constant hits with no defence, go down, getting back up again and again and again. Until finally you make a cut, people finally see what you're capable of... You realise what you're capable of. The fight continues to get harder and harder. You go down far more than you stay up, but eventually, the tides turn and your unwilling to quit becomes your greatest asset. And when the final bell dings, YOU are the one who's left standing. We're all going through something extremely hard that nobody could imagine. Yet we're all in the fight together, the message here is simple, never quit.

Jefferson Garcia Actually... I’m a real boxer and I can give you a short little run down. The ref was garbage. Both Rocky and Draco CONSTANTLY fouled each other. The technique is non existent besides maybe Apollo having good taunts and out-boxing with a bit of a hit and run system. But since Rocky is arguably based of the real Rocky Maccrrino (I think that’s his name) it would make sense that he has low technique. Besides a long time ago especially when “Boxing” was called “Prize-Fighting.” People were kinda just street fighting.

Rocky's strategy in this fight was actually quite brilliant (besides the whole getting his face and brain tenderized thing). He kept working those rib shots as he knew it was going to be a long fight. You could see in the final round leading up to the knockout that Drago was in genuine pain as Rocky kept pounding his ribs. Hard to fight when it's painful to breathe.

and the brilliance carries on to Creed 2. Since Ivan trained Viktor to be better than he ever was as a boxer, notice how he made Viktor's specialty to be bodyshots, Viktor crushed Adonis' ribs in both fights and it was on Ivan's directions, he taught that to Viktor because it worked so well against him when he fought Rocky.

Although all of Rocky's knockouts came from a big head shot, Rocky was always most notorious for his body shots he would deliver. In this universe, anyone who ever fought Rocky-- win or lose-- would probably tell you Rocky hurt the guy's abs and might've even broke his ribs. He broke Apollo's ribs in their first fight, and you can see how much pain Drago was in with all of the body shots Rocky was giving him in this movie. Hell, even in Rocky III, despite fighting Clubber Lang more like Apollo's style vs. his own, he was landing a lot of body shots. Tommy Gunn and Mason Dixon also got a taste of Rocky's rib-busting hooks and uppercuts.

3:28 The way Duke yelled YES sounds like he's waited his whole life to say it. He's lost a lifelong friend to Drago and at the beginning of this fight, it looks like Rocky's gonna join him. Up until that moment, Drago could've been the Terminator and nobody would've objected to that notion. No one actually managed to be a physical challenge to him let alone hurt him. But as soon as Rocky cuts Drago and starts punching the daylights out of him, Duke probably felt like a kid on Christmas Day. Every punch is a sigh of relief as he and the rest of the stadium watch in awe as Drago actually struggles to hold his own. The Russian finally met his match.

Rocky 4 is all about capitalism vs. communism. My cousin who works at Walmart was going to rally the government for an increase in the minimum wage. But after watching Rocky 4 he realized that would be Socialism/Communism; it would steal money from capitalist owners and lead to evil in this world. So he fought for the opposite. He's really happy the minimum wage hardly ever went up in all these years and that Walmart owners got even richer. Communism lost. Capitalism won. Rocky won. Don't forget Ivan Drago is evil. My cousin is now homeless by the way.

This is actually a legit way of dealing with punches as bare knuckle brawlers tend to block punches with their forehead.
Amen brother.
You gave me chills brother
Since maybe 2002 i have been saying this entire Rocky 4 film leading up to the final Drago boss fight is almost a message, we all have tough lethal "Ivan Drago like stages" in our lives and have to fight him off, honestly man extremely relatable comment!
Where's the one where one hit kills you
its a hard thing. I'd rather face a horrible challenge that lasts a brief moment, than have to keep fighting forever. Feels impossible, feels like I'm losing.
This movie isnt about technical boxing accuracy, everyone knows that, its about heart, will, and perseverance under all odds against you.
if boxing was like this ....none would ever watch any other sport
It kinda is...I'm 18 and all my life I dreamed of being strong...Well I kinda achieved muscles and strenght and now I'm boxing...I love it
@@Nimvar good for you..but if you take those punches that easy..it's KO from round 1and you know it
Theo Pot yeah. I remember watching a video where a real boxer broke this down. Saying this is made for movies and this wouldn’t really be a realistic fight
If boxing was really like this then there wouldn't be any boxers bc this fight is way unrealistic bc it's a movie.
Thanos: You shoud have gone for the head; Drago: But it's usless, I'm trying...
I love this comment
Dragons manager: go for the head! Drago:punches his managers head

MUFC no one asked
MUFC also, it’s football not “soccer”
I always liked Drago's reaction at 6:12 when rocky stands up again you can see he realizes the fight he's in like "this dude won't stay down"
That's because the things, Drago wins fights but Rocky wins wars, so he knew that he was in for the fight of his career.
Whenever the world is trying to break you, remember how Drago tried to break Rocky. And he failed.
I remember watching this movie with my dad when i was a kid back in the 80s, people in the movie theatre were actually cheering like it was an actual fight. Those were the days

Rocky's defense in this fight was utterly amazing. He blocked everyone of Drago's punches with his face.
😂😂🤣🤣🤣
He was trained on how to take pain.
@@dynahvelvixin.8615 facts
ermmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ya do know its not real
Yup. But, it was actually his head.
I love the strategy of the fight reflects their training. Drago sparred against smaller guys, aiming to pummel and get the power KO. Whereas Rocky was in the woods chopping down a tree. Rocky trained for endurance the long haul, gradually chopping at it until it eventually falls. Whereas Drago expends all his energy trying to get the instant knock out.
Rocky's chopped trees, he's done something new for this fight! He's wrestled with an alligator, Tussled with a whale, He handcuffed lightning, thrown thunder in jail Just the other week he murdered a rock, Injured a stone, Hospitalized a brick He's so mean he makes medicine sick
Rocky 4 was the catalyst to the soviet collapse.

I love how in all the Rocky movies, defensive boxing doesn't exist. Just one blow to the head after another. (LOL)

Truly a phenomenal and beautiful performance from such a high level defense professional when it comes to the sport of boxing. The pure head movement was quite extraordinary and graceful, and unexpected as well. While other boxers and fighters move their head away from punched, Rocky didn’t use head movement at all, making his head movement unheard of! His overall defense was amazing! This fight has absolutely everything, it is an epic duel of power to power and confrontation perhaps of our worst fears, excellent soundtrack in combat, resistance to adversity, courage, bravery and heart, and the most important thing about this message is not to take a step back without first fighting. No matter the adversity that is in front of us, what a great example and lesson Mr. Stallone gave us in this fight, for me it is the best of the entire saga.
Not to mention a metaphor for the Cold War
Drago's "how is this possible" face is priceless
Rocky's such a clever fighter; letting Drago tire himself out, by hitting him in the face with a thousand accurate haymakers in a row. Well played sir, well played...

That was kind of the thing with Rocky III, but Drago was on steroids in this one, so he wasn’t tired, Rocky just had more determination.

Good observation
He kept going for creed cuz he killed him so sad great movies
and the brilliance carries on to Creed 2.
Chop that midsection up!!
Tommy Gunn and Mason Dixon also got a taste of Rocky's rib-busting hooks and uppercuts.
ive watched all rockys and creeds so far but THIS IS THE BEST FIGHT OUT OF ALL OF THEM
Man this had so much more meaning behind it than just the fight in the movie.
