  • To me, the quizzes as a core component sound a bit forced. Can't imagine a lot of creators want a platform for only a small percentage of their audience without having a monetary incentive. Then again, I have no idea what the Jake Pauls of the world actually want

    • I agree, influencers care about money not the contact with the fans especially in the beauty/lifestyle community. What seperates the 'true fans' from the rest is the size of the wallet. I also can't come up with the reason why creators should choose this app over some generic quizz app/website. What is the long-term benefit of using this app rather than one time thing?

  • Just my 2 cents: The app sounds reasonable, but I don't really see why a creator would want to use this as an entry barrier opposed to something like Patreon It seems like the quiz questions would realistically want to be tailored towards the creator in question, so that leads to the though of who will create these quizzes? A creator can't just reuse the same quiz questions over and over as the answers for the questions will inevitably get posted online, so this means new questions will need to be made for every quiz. Who will be responsible for creating these questions? That responsibly will end up falling on the creator themselves, as they will be the only ones who are able to come up with these tailored questions, and I just can't see creators putting in the time to come up with new questions say every month

    @Ayomikun@Ayomikun2 жыл бұрын
    • Even if they manage to create new questions every month someone could just post all the answers somewhere and boom for that month you don't have the entry barrier anymore One solution would be to have random questions given to the "contestants", but then again... it doesn't sound good idk

    @tuts351@tuts3512 жыл бұрын
    • I guess I don’t agree with that… I think creators would want their true and valuable fans to be part of the community. Their “default” communities (on KZhead, IG etc) already have a lot of toxic people and trolls, if they refer people to another platform, they would want only the best members there. In other words, a clean community

    • I agree. Ben didn't mention consulting any creator so I assume he probably didn't. • From a dev's perspective, i'm sure the designer has seen the success of social media apps like Instagram and the familiarity the users have with the colors on Instagram, plus you've said its also targeted towards celebrity like people, who are obviously judged (by a good part) on how many followers they have on Instagram...so personally, the design was okay... maybe ask the designer to add the "Astro floating theme" that you tend to like... ---ochieng'

  • Hey Ben, great to see you back and something new! I have some concerns regarding the "superfans" aspect of the app, using quizzes to filter out "non-real" fans from "real" ones. I am personally not a huge fan of "invite-only" apps (and I was an early member of Dribbble) as it creates a sort of echo chamber with superfluous interactions. Creators are unlikely to get constructive feedback that can help them become better at their craft. Anyways, I wish you good luck with your project :)

It must make you very mad as they literally have little to none margins, especially on "Explore" page. As the client he has the right to say what he doesn't like in the final work, but as the dev, telling UI team to refactor this and that is stupid and disrespectful to UI designers.
