  • Are you thinking of getting or upgrading to the S23 Ultra? Let me know your thoughts below!

    @AndroidAddicts@AndroidAddicts Жыл бұрын
    • Yes, I will upgrade my S22U Exynos, overall kind of the best phone on the market, just the CPU is disappointing, and it lags many times. The S23U could be perfect for years, just waiting for a price drop.

      @zadamone@zadamone Жыл бұрын
    • Let's hope the S23 is perfect! I haven't used it as my primary phone yet but from what I've seen so far - it's very good. Sadly there won't be a price drop for some time I wouldn't imagine

    • No, even though I have the exynos I have no money for it, and right now it feels like we are paying more and receiving less, I bought the s22 ultra bus I wanted to try a flagship, but we got no charger, no sd card slot, a meh battery life, not the fastest charging speed, and not even radio app like wtf , phones are just getting worse

    • Yep I upgraded from my s22 ultra Snapdragon and I'm loving it. The battery life is so much better and the phone just feels more snappy. The cameras are better also but not a huge improvement, but it's only early days so a couple more updates it could make a big difference.

  • One thing more: I also noticed that initial lag from Exynos and I think it's a pure software problem. In my case GTA SA, game that normally uses around 30% of the GPU, has ofter surprisingly low FPS during the very first seconds of the gameplay. Also it's the only one title that even few system updates before still has problems with some textures. 2200 is a very good SoC with one big problem which is lack of interest from developers and lack of optimalisation as a result.

    @jamrug3472@jamrug3472 Жыл бұрын

  • Honestly i don't get the hate one the recent exynos 2200 pretty amazing performance and battery life, in all the tests I have seen it beats the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 variant in battery life, comparable performance, Samsung is In the right direction, but yeah it's great that everyone gets the exact same phone with the S23 lineup I'll be keeping my 512GB S22 Ultra Exynos 2200 powered variant, no complaints, good battery life, updates always on time, already on the same as the s23 ultra Nothing groundbreaking or mind-blowing that warrants an upgrade

  • These type of apps opening tests are barley of any relevance these days. I don't think you're testing actual performance, because you're not putting much load on the hardware like this. Compare it to even lower end devices and the difference will be insignificant for the end user. I'm feeling the real gains with the S23U in multitasking, fast switching between apps, swipe to go home during an app loading, fast scrolling, sharing something during a high load situation, opening pictures immediately after snapping them (while it's till being processed). these are just some examples, but In scenarios like this, the S22U would s*** itself, taking away from the overall experience. The S23U on the other hand just breezes trough everything, and at the same time stays cooler, and real life battery is on a different level. For me it was worth the upgrade even from the S22U, because now it actually feels like the high end phone it's meant to be and it's a joy to use in any way you like.

    • Glad to hear you're happy with your S23! You might find my battery drain test video (recording it as I type) is a more 'suitable' test of performance - these speed tests are just for fun really - no one will ever notice milisecond differences in loading an app - which is what we've come down to nowadays with the performance of modern phones 👍

If you have an Exynos and are a big gamer then I imagine the switch would be a good idea. For the rest - or unless you get a free upgrade every year through your phone provider (or Samsung Upgrade Programme) then I think most people would be happy to just carry on with their S22 👍
