Parkland formula is 2-4 ml by kg by TBSA%. I am currently on burns in class, and that has been a point of debate.

It will never hurt to give more fluids with a severe burn patient. It is 4mL and don't hesitate to over-estimate total body surface area affected by burns.

This is confusing. I learned there are 3-types of Burns {Superficial, Deep, and Full Thickness}. I also learned the differentiation between the 3-types of burns are as follows, Superficial burn is Sunburn with Redness, and No edema. Deep Burns damages the Epidermis/Dermis causing Blisters, and pain. Full Thickness is LETHAL which damages all layers. Now listening to your notes i'm hearing Superficial Burn damages Epidermis with Redness, No Edema or Blisters. Superficial partial thickness Burn damages Epidermis and Top of Dermis causing Redness, pain, Edema, and Blisters. Deep Burns vs Deep partial Thickness Burn is confusing. You also mention Full Thickness and Deep partial thickness, which is also confusing. Can you explain this in ascending order please? it's confusing -Superficial -Superficial partial thickness -Deep -Deep partial thickness -Full thickness

Types of burn 1. Superficial burn 2. Partial thickness which is divided into superficial partial thickness and deep partial thickness 3. Full thickness burn Deep full thickness burn is new to me, so could add as no.4 now. We learn something new everyday. I don’t know if that helps.
