You only got to the knock-outs with lucky last minute goals, against Atleti and Celtic (which you deserved to lose btw). Truth is Feyenoord are quite a bit better than Lazio, have almost 50% more market value and have won MUCH more trophies, and much more recently. You are not even getting Conference League this year, while we are already secured of Champions League. So yeah, that is a BIG step down

Slot will be very demanding of his players, they have to attack as well as defend. Condition is key.

As a Liverpool fan, I was absolutely gutted to hear Klopp will leave. It’s going to take a lot for someone to come In after Klopp, huge shoes to fill. However after the last few weeks I’m coming to the realisation that he’s going, plus the results have been disappointing. Klopp looks soooo deflated, he needs a rest. Now I’m actually excited about the new manager and what he will bring. Clearly we need refreshing and a new manager will bring fresh ideas. We need to get behind him from the start and give slot time. I don’t wana see negativity if a few games done go our way. Klopp took time, look what arteta is doing now. Trust the process.

Why does he need time? is not as though he needs to rebuild the team. This team is already challenging for the PL, only a bit of tinkering and couple of signings…surely can’t mess this up!
You are forgetting. Liverpool has masqueraded as a challenging title team but they have not played brilliant a large percentage of the season, often scoring late in games and in many occassions 90+ minutes. Fabinho, henderson and wijnaldum have never been replaced in the engine room and that is essential for dictating games. The forward line consists of no natural goalscorers and imo ok strikers.....not world class which is what liverpool need. There are holes in the lfc boat that have been plugged but now the water is seeping in.......a long way odf Araenal and City IMO
Nothing wrong with scoring late goals, teams who win the league score late goals, don’t always play well but have resilience. On the forward line yes they have been wasteful but they have strikers. Look at Arsenal top scorers…but without a striker on the pitch! Havertz is like Gapko.

Great analysis of Slot by James Rowe. As a Dutchman I think Slot is the best and most complete manager we ever had in the Netherlands. Apart from his great tactical and strategic skills, he is an excellent people manager. Maybe even better than Jurgen Klopp, but certainly equally balanced as a person. He is inspiring towards the players and he may be able to control the extremely sensational and stunningly mediocre English daily media (sorry to say so, could be saying the same of the media in Spain or anywhere else). Don't think managing Feyenoord (from the port city of Rotterdam) is much easier than the Port city of Liverpool. Port cities are special, they carry an overload of energy (both positive and negative) and so are the fans. Feyenoord fans have been causing lots of problems and havoc in away games in Europe, but are also the most generous you can find to support their club. Like in Liverpool, in Rotterdam they sing "You never walk alone". Arne Slot got the Feyenoord supporters on his side within a few weeks. I hope he can do the same at Liverpool.

We have got Hancko, most talented CV (and also left back). He is fast, impressive strenght, scoring capabilities, passing like noone else...psg wanted him in the winter but 35mil euro was not enough....we never had so many good.players in our squad. But slot is litterally the best coach we had inbthe past 40 years. He is intelligent, well spoken, great with media and his english is very good. Tactilly he outsmathered so many people and he is not even to compare with ten hag.

Managers need time 1 or 2 seasons isn’t enough and after the salah incident something is clealry happening at Liverpool with the players if players are causing problems it also takes time to fix

All this talk about saving a small team on the brink is all cute. But I have followed football long enough to know it doesn’t translate when you are managing a big club. You need managers with big club experience and who have been successful at the role if that club will be successful. This is a 4/10 hire for Liverpool and tbh. He will likely be trophyless in his time at LFC (I hope I’m wrong). Tuchel would have been the better hire. Winning trophies is a spirit and you never want to stop the momentum because you don’t know when it will be start again

Will Arne Slot actually be given a chance because there are no Bundesliga winners and Champions League finalists waiting to become the next Liverpool manager. Ain't what they used to be? What exactly is that supposed to mean? Do you mean the club as a whole? The squad? The culture? Be specific. The squad is what Klopp made it. Klopp has worked himself to the bone rebuilding the entire structure at the club. They have Michael Edwards' business experience and excellent training facilities. There's loads of young talent coming through. World class players are still there and there's potential for players to improve. This season was a transitional one and a significant improvement on last season. Why be so pessimistic? Klopp is leaving because after nine years he's just tired. I'm not surprised considering the work he has put into the club. Slot will bring new energy and some new ideas. Give the guy a chance before judging him.

Completely different types of managers. During his Ajax time Ten Hag was all about discipline and obedience. He also had the fortune of inheriting a winning team at the richest club in the Netherlands. Slot however had to start from basically nothing at Feyenoord. Several managers before him got fired after a short time and the team lacked confidence and quality while the club lacked money. Slot transformed that within a year with almost no resources. Mediocre players became solid, and a winning team was being build out of nowhere. He’s a people manager and a team builder, with focus on attacking defenders and defending attackers. Condition and team spirit over discipline and obedience (like Ten Hag). The year after that he basically had to start all over again, since most players were sold, and somehow he managed to do it again. Feyenoord now, compared to 3 years ago is unrecognizable in the best way possible, mostly thanks to him. Although there have been other people who were instrumental for this success as well.

There have been a total of 9 Dutch PL managers. Guus Hiddink rescued Chelsea from Scolari and was begged to stay by the fans and the players, who gave him a gift upon leaving on his own accord. The job Louis Van Gaal did is underrated and was hit with a wrecking ball as soon as Mourinho became available. Then you have the job both Johan Cruyff and Frank Rijkaard did at Barcelona - making them one of the most feared teams on the planet. Name one good German PL manager before Jurgen Klopp. Yep. It is the best club in the world. One of the oldest in football, with an incredible history. Best fan base in football - every player testifies to that. Best staff and facilities. More than any club in the world the team is a family - engendered by klopp. And there have been periods under Klopps reign where liverpool have indeed been the best team in the world in terms of quality.
