Eckhart Tolle on Transforming Suffering into Awakening

2024 ж. 12 Сәу.

Eckhart Tolle explores the common misconceptions surrounding happiness and the true purpose of life's challenges. He explains that the world is not meant to make us happy but to make us conscious, and that growth occurs through overcoming difficulties. Eckhart Tolle discusses how psychological suffering can lead to an awakening, revealing that much of our unhappiness is self-created. He emphasizes the importance of presence and finding peace even in moments of sadness. Ultimately, Eckhart Tolle suggests that recognizing the ego's role in our suffering can help us transcend it and experience a deeper sense of peace.
Eckhart describes the suffering inherent in the pursuit of “egoic fulfillment” and how turning to the mind rarely, if ever, produces inspired solutions. In this foundational talk, he shares guidance on remaining rooted in presence as we meet the challenges of our lives. Learn More: bit.ly/YT-trascending-ego

  • I am 83 and going through a long period of physical challenges to wit I do not believe this time I will recover. We all know that something will take us out sooner or later and this time I’ve met my match. My husband does not fully accept my conclusion but that’s ok. Thank goodness I “found” Eckhart these last two years;better late than never. And I was always a late bloomer according to my beloved Mother. Thank you Eckhart for being with me on the latter days of my journey…you were truly God sent or my version of a Higher Being. I am taking my ego-mind with me to the end, but at least he knows that he is no longer in the driver’s seat, but an old companion/passenger in the back seat who no longer holds the road map to my life’s adventures. Much love and courage to all…

    • Facing your troubles head-on without denial is an important step, and you've taken it. Good for you. Life and health are amalgamations of many factors. I've done many things right consistently, but I was missing sanctity, prayer and worship. Eckhart Tolle gave me the proper way to pray: being present and fully bringing yourself forth. And through Paul Chek I found my saint or deity, Quan Yin. She is a very powerful boddhisattva of compassion. I will pray for your suffering to alleviate tomorrow, because I believe in you. Much Love, Mikko Murmeli ❤

However I am convinced from the depths of my being that there is no death, just a transitioning to the other side, a casting off of the old body. • "If you don´t escape, if you allow the suffering to be there, if you are ready to face it, if you are not trying somehow to forget it, then you are different. Suffering is there but just around you; it is not in the center, it is on the periphery. It is impossible for suffering to be in the center; it is not in the nature of things. It is always on the periphery and you are the center. So when you allow it to happen, you don´t escape, you don´t run, you are not in a panic, suddenly you become aware that suffering is there on the periphery as if happening to someone else, not to you, and you are looking at it. A subtle joy spreads all over your being because you have realized one of the basic truths of life, that you are bliss and not suffering."

  • Being intoxicated makes you feel happy momentarily and that is why so many people drink alcohol and do other drugs. Then, people associate happiness with the feeling of euphoria that drugs can provide. I have learned that contentment is really all I want and once I quit drinking alcohol, I can say that I am quite content with life, and actually happy most of the time.

A while ago, I was really confused because I kept getting advice from everyone that felt entirely wrong, and I couldn't figure out where the discrepancy came from between what I knew and felt and what they tried to convince me of - some had selfish reasons, but some clearly did mean well. In that situation, one of your videos recommended "A course in miracles", as not being for everyone, but being helpful for some. It was a revelation, thank you!! Sometimes what people perceive on the outside is not even close to what is really going on. And you can trust yourself and the other - but sometimes it can be immensely helpful to get an explanation mirrored back to you that fits your experience! Thank you!!

  • I love Eckhart teachings, purely simple and true. Best of the best is his description of energy bodies and clarification of the Buddha’s teaching on emptiness to spaciousness. Be the light that you naturally are by looking within and discovering who you really are. Thank you, thank you, thank you 🙏Namaste

  • Life happens to those who are aware of it. Happiness is within all people and those people who become conscious will also find suffering as part of life. life does not exist without consciousness. When you find yourself being unhappy consider it to be a blessing and except it as it is your mind telling you so and that is all it is. Now you are aware of why you feel the way you do. You know how to stop the mind stuff if you have done your home work and read Eckharts books. A new Earth can take you there, you may still feel the suffering but with a feel good understanding of why and there in lies the healing process. By the way I am writing this on my wifes computer. my name is Tom Kelly

  • Hey Eckhart, when i finished reading The Power of Now I entered a state of associated eurphoria and heightened awareness. I felt the life force of a bonsai plant in front of me emanating as loud as a siren. I felt deep peace and relaxation and issues I was going thru shifted as pleasant means of changes and so much more. Also, I coincidently had to have a difficult conversation and I navigated it with such graceful precision- I was truly blown away. It later wore off that evening. A couple months later I had dental surgery and was given strong narcotics for the first time and the experience i had was similar to when I had finished your book. Interesting ehh? :)

  • The true self is always there, the mind claims to be "the self" Unconsious actions in the past are not your fault only caused by your environment, grow up and the created patrons in your mind...when you awake and you feel shame and guilt never blame yourself, you were a victim of your own unconsious mind
