    • What has happened to Saturn? I saw your video where she was doing better and shedding and could see again, but what has happened since? If she passed its ok. You did all you could I'm sure. I dont think anyone with common sense would blame you if she did. I subscribed because I saw your rescue video and I'm not even a snake or reptile person, but I have compassion for any living creature that is suffering. Please post an update even if its not good news. Thanks for the great videos.

    • I got a dog from my step-dad's co-worker once. poor girl had been kept in a freezing garage. We were experienced with dealing with behavourial issues, and were told this girl was agressive. When we got her 1) was she heck agressive and 2) turned out she had a medical condition that was exasberated by being kept in the cold and 3) of course she was a "Christmas" present for their severly austic son and of course, none of them knew how to look after her properly. 4) She was a cocker spaniel which is not generally a calm breed. (High-energy working breed, they are georgous, but they need a tonne of excercise and mental stimulation) They obviously hadn't done their research. 5) I don't have much respect for a pair of parents who can't be arsed to tell their son it isn't ok to pull at the dogs ears. I saw him do it right in front of me and the parents did nothing. Austic people are not incapable of learning, as someone with the condition that genuinely made me quite angry. When she growled at the boy, they yanked at her collar, and cockers have a smallish neck, so they could have really hurt her. 6) Cocker spaniels don't shed, so they need their fur clipped, her fur was matted and gross, and she stank. They said "oh, we like her with long fur". Dude, look after your dog!

    • I'm incredibly emotional the last couple days for some unknown reason and I was already crying throughout the whole video, and then finally stopped and saw your comment and started crying again. It makes me sick to my stomach that animals can be treated like that. Much everybody's disbelief in my life I don't want kids I just want animals. And I want rescues. My girlfriend's family breeds Maltese puppies and she only ever wants dogs that come from breeders and I lost some respect for her because of that. I know that no matter what people are going to breed in at least she loves and cares for her dogs but there's so many animals out there that need homes and is suffering like this poor snake. My mom only allowed us to get dogs from a breeder and I love my dog and I feel like it's okay to get animals from breeder but to be completely opposed to rescuing is stupid LOL Sorry for the rant but thank you very much for rescuing!

      @LostYourTime@LostYourTime5 жыл бұрын
    • Genociiide , well said. I feel the same way as you. I just want a huge menagerie of rescued animals. Of any kind. Just whichever animal needs a home. At the moment I only have 2 rescue cats, but I want more, once my living circumstances allows it. Space, both inside and out, for whatever animals might come along, who might need a loving, safe home. I understand that some people will go to breeders if they have a preference for a specific type of cat, dog etc. But like you, I just know that there are so many animals out there already, who need good homes. I couldn’t bring myself to get anything other than a rescue animal as a pet, it just wouldn’t feel right. I’m not sure if you are male or female, but I am sorry that you have been feeling emotional lately. Maybe your hormones are out of whack, or if you have a lot on your plate and have lots of stresses that are affecting your emotions. Lack of sleep really plays havoc on my emotions. But I have found that animal therapy is the best thing when I’m feeling low or emotional. So, maybe spend some extra time with your animals, if you are still feeling this way. Hope you feel better soon. 😀

    • Terry Wilson there’s a pet shop near me that’s selling meerkats, caiman, genets, Asian water monitors, anacondas, monkeys and other pets needing wildly different care and habitat to standard pets and they sell them to anyone, it absolutely horrified and terrifies me. The amount of people that can adequately care for and provide an ideal environment with plenty of enrichment for unusual and demanding species is ridiculously small. The amount of people who buy something just because they want it without research or proper preparation just makes me lose faith in humans.

    • Damn, it makes me so angry. I once went to a pet store and the way they kept their reptile (especially snakes) is utterly outrageous. They were cramped and clearly stressed, it smelled awful and the air inside was terribly dry. The snakes are kept inside small FUCKING TUPPERWARE BOXES WITHOUT HEAT OR LIGHT ON A SHELF. I saw up to 7 turtles kept inside tanks smaller than my JUVENILE corn snake's. There were severely overweight lizards and an open tree that went up to the ceiling where they kept one chameleon, which, considering that the setup was open to the rest of the store, it could have easily escaped and gotten lost/stuck/injured. There were very overweight lizards as well as arachnids kept in cups that were way too tiny. There was even a goddamn tortoise (yeah, the ones that live for up to 150 years) and at one point had a CROCODILE. I'm not even joking. Animals aren't for human entertainment, and I don't get why some people can't see that. Smfh. If I was able to take legal action against that pet store I would.

  • I actually cried watching this. I don’t keep snakes or any reptiles for that matter, and have no real experience with them, but seeing the amount of neglect that left her in that state made my heart hurt. This is why we need to stop looking at animals as trophies or objects to own and do the bare minimum/don’t do any research to understand their needs. I’ve learned that we need to stop trusting what breeders/pet shops say entirely, and that not every product out there that’s labelled ‘for pets’ is really the best for them. That keeping an animal with you means that you have to be responsible - and yes, it’s a constant learning process - but you need to keep trying and evolving your methods and do what you can within your means. They’re relying on you for a good quality of life. I recently rescued a 5 week old kitten from a storm drain behind my house, with no prior experience of owning a cat. But I knew that he was filthy and needed a bath, that he needed to be socialised with humans as he was feral, that he needed his ears checked out with the amount of dark discharge coming from them, that I really should not be feeding him dry kibble that was mainly grain/preservatives when cats are obligate carnivores. You need instincts. You need research. And you need to care. That’s all. Seeing that snake in such bad condition, plus that severe spider wobble makes me upset to think that their previous owner did not even meet those basic requirements.

They arent robots every single snake has a different way of surviving. In the wild that personality is what helps them survive. It gives them the edge over snakes. Snakes that survive breed thus helping the animal species survive in a whole. Now in a rack system where everything is exactly the same their personality is what differentiates them in the eyes of the owner. Humans like to think that personality and differences are linked to emotions which isnt always the case. Everything and anything they feel is attached to survival.

  • Spider wobble can be exacerbated by stress, and given the setup she was in, the trauma she's suffered, and just the move and treatment, I imagine she's VERY stressed out. I wouldn't be surprised if, once she's more settled in and she can see and she's doing better, you see the severity of that wobble start to ease up a bit. Thank you for taking this snake on and helping her recover. Honestly, as someone working in the pet industry at a large scale pet store, I don't think I've ever seen such a neglected and, quite honestly, abused reptile in my life.

    @vomrabenauge@vomrabenauge5 жыл бұрын
    • Agreeing with this. I've also seen a couple cases where the wobble gets worse when the snake's head is off the ground so if they're crawling around on a flat surface they're fine, but if they stick their heads off the edge of a surface or are off the supporting edge of an arm the wobble gets very pronounced.

    • Ooof this was was sad but like above comments hopefully she'll improve that wobble and general health once settled in! Unfortunately I have a childrens python whith a wobble as well(it's not just bps unfortunately) especially cause he's much more active than any ball so he often throws his head and corkscrews it when excited(when I first got him as a baby he'd throw himself so hard he'd fall of his perch) :( luckily he's a good eater and grower I just minimize handling and keep him on a strict daily schedule to keep from exciting the issue, hopefully this rescue snake can heal up and live a long comfortable life!

There's nothing wrong with my snake!" ... that's like watching a cat or dog have a seizure and going "Awwwww, look at him shake and wiggle" Like. It's not good, don't breed these snakes, there are thousands of other snakes and morphs to choose from! One day the snake may just wobble and hit it's head until it kills itself, seriously, no one wants to find there snake dead and no snake wants to go through this, just get a different snake, a different morph, don't go all greedy just cause these snakes have thinner markings on them, come on.
