dang, thanks for pushing this vid out. I saw it pop up on my steam page and was somewhat intrigued by it. good to hear the backstory on this studio
It is a really fun game especially if u play with friends there is a couple of things that need to be fixed like food goes bad really quick but once you start a farm it’s no problem the game has what it takes to be a good game so far I’m having a blast and I played for a week
man nothing is wrong with last oasis, the wing suit mechanic was insanely good. it was actually a sick game. it just sucked that the player base died, i remember finding a friendly player (which was rare, mostly you got fucked up) we would do zero to hero in rare maps together, go in and by the end of it end up rich and just fly around with wing suits.) The player base mostly died due to people being really toxic towards solo players. The meele combat was really amazing once you got used to it. there was also one insane player who would sand bag an entire map... to stop walkers. the amount of time that would take... makes me think he was not well in the head
Banning people for mentioning their past mistakes is enough reason for me to label them as shady and never support them.
Please do your own research. Yes they did mention things but then the developer picked suggestions to respond to, the people who didn't get a response was pissed off naturally and just starting trolling the group so they got banned.
The amount of fanboy protector in their community is insane. I wish i could get my refund T.T
Their last mistake was literally a scam. It wasn't a mistake, they scammed people. Now they are more then likely back trying to make a half baked game that will rinse enough money before they abandon and repeat. Dev - "We feel very strongly that you should only buy Bellwright if you feel it is in a worthy state right now." They refuse to give any information on whats to come, and are urging players to ONLY BUY THE GAME IF THEY FEEL ITS WORTHY NOW" In otherwords, If they abandon, this time they can turn around and blame the player base for not following their advice.
Their other game is Last Oasis is still in pre alpha after 4 years. If that isn't a red sign then idk
People love giving their money away to crap like this and then stanning for it because one of the devs left a wink emoji on a msg in their discord.
Man, Idk where I even got that game, I think from humble? Either way, it sucked ass.
Last oasis was a good game to be fair. The player base is more wat killed off that game. Clans of 300+ ran around wiping servers.
@@AwesomeGuy772you can’t say their god awful launch didn’t t have a little to do with that
A game can be in alpha for 15 years and i dont care. As long as it is getting amazing updates. Idk why people judge a game by single variables. Who cares if its in alpha for 50 years? Is it a massive alpha where they are building the coolest game ever made? if so, idc. It depends what you are getting, the alpha time is meaningless. Its just a random word.
Brother got lost for a few weeks and came back with the most killer haircut
I thought he died
@@StephenMcGregor1986 what if he did and this video is done by an AI, which couldn't get the haircut right? 🤔
he also created like 3 more channels which he don't plug anywhere
nvm, now he puts them in video's description
and with less fat.
Friend-O! Thanks for the review and bonus sleeping kitty.
Is that cat wheel from temu worth it? I wakt to get one for my cat but idk
Appreciate your review. First time viewer of your content. Looking for Manor Lord review.
I'm just here for cat content.
Amen
kira could go dsp way, and charge 100 bucks per cat appearance🤣
Always here for the 🐈🐈🐈
💯 that's why I'm here
what ''content'' means? dumb word
Thanks Kira, I was just about to buy this. Happy to say my money stays in my bank until we see much improvement.
Valheim has been the best value for an Early Access game, i've ever owned. And they still haven't increased the price like the other studios have. with Major updates still coming and to come.
I fucking loved that game until I found out you can server hop and spawn whatever you want. Literally KILLED it for me.
Minecraft...lol
Nah, enshrouded
@@m33tballa Ah yes, Enshrouded AKA "5 minute timer if you get in smoke", AKA "kill generic monsters with no depth or story to anything you do", AKA "build base because we thought stapling on a base mechanic would hide the fact the world is empty". What a great concept amirite?
I really want you to look in to Snail games and their finances, because use Ark ASA players are still debating weather snail will continue to exsist with their horrific money spending and stock market value. I personally belive that Snail games is close to broke
They're from China. That's why there's Snail Games, and Snail Games USA. As long as they can get money from the US Market and bring it back to China they won't stop.
how nicely this channel grew and even background change haha keep up honest work
thanks bro, think ill pick this up on a heavy discounted key
good to see you baCK feels like its been a while
Holy crap, bro! I haven't seen one of your videos in a while and I have to say... YOU LOOK GOOD, BRO!
SO VERY RARE to have a YT content creator not LIE about something and give straight facts. Thank you for the video.
Been a while. Did you rebrand? looking forward to checking out some of your videos ive missed
That "brick by brick" building system reminds me of The Forest. I don't think it was as finnicky there though or that you had a central spot to interact with unless you were raising long lines of defensive walls. Later in the video the character also seems to struggle getting in the right spot to grab forageables and stuff from the ground. Maybe some sensitivity adjustments could be enough to make that work better. Ultimately not sure how I feel about it. I didn't hate it in The Forest. But it could feel like a slight chore, even if I had the mutants/cannibals dealing damage to my structures disabled. Imagine building many of such structures in this game and then have a raid or something tear it all down. Big frustration potential. Maybe best to let the player adjust these settings in Bellwright too. What I'd be interested to see in such games are crafting systems with such "fleshy detail". Like actually putting parts of a sword together in a 3D physical manner, not just clicking on stuff in a crafting window and then poof have the end product appear in your inventory. Or clothing or such. Have a table and pull the parts together. But I guess that would be very difficult to program and model especially in a multiplayer environment?
I like the new look. thanks again for the videos
Looking sharp 👌
Looking good my dude!
Thanks for putting this take out there, its good to have this context and such. I like how thorough your explanation is. The game has a lot of potential, but it doesnt sound like its in a great state rn. I just think the combined gameplay sounds so fun, bannerlord mixed with medieval dynasty, and its coop, coop is so fucking huge.
I just saw the ad on KZhead here and the 50 seconds I saw just looked to good to be true. A survival city builder that plays like Mount and Blade. So here I am.
Thanks Mister for ur open Honestty, i had to Refund it i don't believe the performance will improve, as well as other issues in-game with the Refund I'll try Manor Lord, what i should of bought from the beginning.
Thank you for this, I was consi8dering purchasing this game.
It is a really fun game especially if u play with friends there is a couple of things that need to be fixed like food goes bad really quick but once you start a farm it’s no problem the game has what it takes to be a good game so far I’m having a blast and I played for a week
My only non regrettable EA purchases were M&B and Valheim. Thinking of Enshrouded/ManorLords too but I am going to give it some time
I have had a good time on the game so far. Today there was more players on than yesterday and the review score is now up to 73% and Mostly positive. So far there have been a handful of updates to the game, so they have been updating it good to far. How long those updates continue we will have to wait and see, but so far its more fun than I was expecting.
Of Kings and Men was a wicked game, the community was the only ones trying to get the Devs to actually fix it up, but Donkey Crew just threw it under the bus. But they hyped up about the "Epic" but couldn't do it so therefore it just was a Team Deathmatch Medieval game. It did have alot of promise (It seems the combat has been put into this)
@kirareacts did you see the shitshow behind the Pax Dei alpha test? After 4 tries and an overnight download and install over a 300MB/s connection I finally managed to play for afew hours... Now I'm waiting forever for an update again...
So yeah, this versus Manor Lords? Or are they too different?
thanks for the info will wait until the game is 1.0
I was on the fence about it but your views helped me to save my money. Cheers mate for the video.
Same, I didn't know they have such track record. Going to hold off on this til I see more improvement and signs of it not heading to the abandon ware direction.
i enjoyed lost oasis for a brief time but after that games collapse although i'd like this to succeed i'll be very hesitant to buy
What killed me the most is that Snail Games came out with Dark and Light years ago and I was so excited about that and well its been abandoned really quickly .... now I see snail games slam dunking games left and right and I am like....this has to just be fun for them watching us spend money and it sucks....I just wish there was a game that maintains its development track and fulfills their roadmap..
I think the game is great...probably the best survival game right now with awesome ideas...i just hope they finish this one
I saw this game before it was on my recommended list and it was at a mostly positive score. After it started popping up on the list and I saw more youtube videos it went to mixed reviews. Super important to wait on games before you jump in. I like playing EA games because they give updates and it's worth the money. I usually look at how much growth they have possible when buying into EA. A lot of these crafting/survival games don't have much room to grow out of EA.
I feel this is more a story of a company trying to enter into a very difficult market, the company are saying they havenplans for some of the previous games left behind by opening mod support, but thats if they can be a success, if bellwright is a success, which im loving the game myself, then hopefully this, previous and future games will be more fleshed out upon launch
one of the first thing we got confirmed is that they focus on moding tools, that alone gives hope
Looking really good Kira
well if people can't learn and still buy early access from them, well their fault thank you for doing the research and helping us out with complete information and a view.
I have it and I’m having a lot of fun yes there is a few things they need to fix but if they fix those things the game will be really good and if they don’t fix it it’s still a very fun game to get on with friends
You need to do your own research. Lol thanking him for his research? He is the one who got banned from 9 people saying the B word to everyone as his question was skipped lol, do your own research
@@user-hk7ft7dk1i What B word? "B!7CH?" What, are you in kindergarten or something?
Kira looking like the bachelor; robe, punk hair, lumberjack beard. 👌🏻
Thanks.
Hey Kira, Project Zomboid been in early access for 11 years and the game is awesome!
Looking good, bro.
These devs have a history of abandoning their mods and games. They started on Mount and Blade Warband as a mod developer, created a interesting mod but abandoned it without any notification to their community.
They certainly notified the community because they hit us up for seed money to develop OKAM. Fat waste of money thay was.
I've seen a whole bunch of twitch streams and despite it being by Donkey Crew and having reportedly been cancelled previously (back in 2018 or something) it's in a surprisingly good state... Of course if it doesn't continue bringing impossible revenue for the next year or two it's gonna become abandonware and if it does they're gonna go full Ark since they were acquired by Snail Games, but I'm still pleasantly surprised x) PS You're looking great, Thailand is serving you well
Great game imo.. could be a Gem, i have 20-30 hrs in atm , only getting better and better the more i play
Well im 20 hrs into it and im loving this game.,
I bought it because it looked good, I didn't know which studio was behind it
Last Oasis, never forget!
Fun fact the art in the openeing story seen is generated via AI. Specifically look for a dagger with a hilt and you'll see it if you have any idea how AI generates images (in hilariously funny ways)
He back PS: looking good, brother!
Apparently, the A.I voices are placeholders. That said, going by previous titles, who's to say that's actually the case. I'll probably give it a go, but mostly 'cause I'm burnt out on Dragon's Dogma 2 and Manor Lords isn't out yet for us peasants.
Not the first time, won’t be the last. I’ll believe the whole placeholder thing when I see (or, in this case, hear) it.
Wonder who told you that buddy
The game's steam page says it.
Snail games has abandoned most every game they ever made but this one looked so awesome I wanted to get it until I saw it was by them. So I have been looking at reviews
So a couple of things I wanted to note. •Regarding having to build structures component by component, that’s one of the biggest peeves I have with Fortnite’s collab with LEGO for an entire game mode. The LEGO games got it right by having it be either a pile of bricks you have to stand next to and hold to build for a few seconds (that’s the simple but interactive version), or a sort of Simon Says of three portions of a complete structure (LEGO Dimensions did it that way), or the straight forward start-building-and-forget like in RTS games. Honestly, if I were developing Bellwright, I’d go for option one or three first and certainly not have it piece by piece (granted it’s not a LEGO game). •About the NPC AI derping out, the way you’re describing it reminds me a bit of the Sims 2 on the PlayStation, where pathfinding to objects even when you’re in control of your character was… well… really janky AFAIK. All in all the studio has some serious work ahead of them to smooth their game out if anyone is going to entertain the idea of giving them a third chance. Maybe this one will be different after, perhaps, some behind the scenes soul searching and serious thought about what to do differently aside from the obvious? Time will tell.
Just thought you'd like to know, Walsh is letting loose some new drivel regarding not CoE
I wanna know how Earth 2 is doing, or can't you talk about them anymore?
Well, I went ahead and purchased this game despite the negative reviews and I can say I do not regret it and there are lots more people out there that would agree with me. You say this developer abandons games after they release them but there have been 13 updates since the game came out. So, I would not say that is abandoning it. Also, they have said that they are going to get some decent voice actors down the line. I have been playing this game for 70.5 hours now and I am still enjoying it very much. I have to say that I enjoy slow-burn games as I like to play at my own pace and this game allows me to do that.
The game says it will be fully voice acted on release and gives you an option to turn off the AI voiceovers you are talking about around 8:00
I notice the big mechanical contraptions have legs like Theo Jansen's Strandbeests - a very well known type of kinetic sculpture which, powered by the wind, "walks" on its own along beaches. I wonder if they've got his permission to use his inventions?
i think Strandbeests are public domain, i am sure i saw some of his projects plans free to download at his website.
Patents only protect the specific design, not the general idea of the design. Which is why there is more than one smart phone company. Copyright would also be inapplicable as that protects literal copies, not things that were inspired by something else.
@@bat-stranger3067 thank you kind sir
I love the concept of this game but ill buy it in a year or two if they haven't abandoned it
Im about 10 hours in and really enjoying it, yea im a bit worried but for what it is I am really enjoying it. It is like medievel dynasty but they do everything better in my opinion or I feel more invested.
It’s sooooo slow paced and it’s annoying that I’m trying to get geared to liberate villages but going to tier 2 but can’t do most of the tier 2 stuff until I’ve liberated a village and I do not want to cheese it with a damn bow
It's simple best game ever human kind made and I'm gaming since 1991. If devs will keep hard work simple forget about other games.
Let the Cat Fight begin!! 😂😂 What will they f up today?? Jkjk.. Love it when I catch your upload the same day. 😊😊
As someone who played, it's kinda fun. But that being said there's elements that direly need to be tweaked IMO. Hunting deer is THE WORST part as it takes luck to accomplish this. They detect you often before you can even see them and run off like usain bolt. Does it matter? Yes, you need like 10 hides for your town hall to progress to the second part in the tech tree, where the hunter lodge is at. You also need antlers for a quest, and i'm pretty sure others also need it combined with hides. So unless you somehow manage to kill deer, ur stuck unless you wanna check the market every ingame day to see if they restocked on hides.. Aside that my NPCs often get stuck, automatically abandon guard duties while i get invaded and i suspect nothing regrows/respawns in terms of resources... The quests are ok, tho some seem too high level in terms of materials you need. I had 2 quests for a total of 5 rugged t-shirts, to unlock them you need 3 straps, an item you can only buy or get at random from killing bandits. For the town hall you need 15 of them... You cannot craft them until you unlocked the townhall, and then the toolmaker :/ I get they want to want you to research the lower tech stuff first n all, but the raids get harder each time and the only way to compensate is by getting more people to fight back, equipping them with better gear seems to not really affect their performance mich with how they currently fight. I could go on for a bit, but this is a 5.5/10 at best until some core issues are fixed and rebalanced, cuz then it easily could be a 7/10
I'm playing it on an older PC...but I can play most games on Medium-Ultra settings....with 30-60FPS...but I can barely Play this game at like 15-20 FPS on the lowest settings..
Three prior games. Dark & Light is also theirs... Another promising survival game that was abandoned. If you can buy it and enjoy it for what it is, go nuts. Totally agree that do NOT buy it if you expect improvements.
My man Kira, I am straight but hot damn you look good.
$30.00 for over 200+ hrs in the game, and still haven't finished it. Patches that are releasing so far every few days... I am getting my moneys worth. At the end of the day. Its your money, Its your time, Make you own decisions at the end of the day. This is all opinion. Do what you want to do. You have to live your own live and value what you want to value at the end of the day. But This game so far is packed.. Yes its not perfect, but damn am I immersed!
Cheers mate thanks for the time you put into this video It’s confirmed for me now that Snail Games are behind this game :(
On their Steam store page they said: We are using generative AI during development to prototype the voice acting. Expect professional voice acting for the full release. Why they would need to "prototype" voice acting with AI is beyond me. It's not very reassuring that the developer literally said in an interview they made this game basically as a last ditch effort to not shut their studio down, because Last Oasis is no longer making them money.
To be fair LO was a great game during the pandemic because everyone was home playing it. It was thriving at 15-20k players. It lived and died by the player base. When it went below 2k players there wasn't much they could do to bring player's back and they did try switching the mechanics drastically but failed horribly. I was a hardcore LO player with 4000 hours played but even I wouldn't continue to put resources into that game once I saw it was dead. It's funny though seeing all of the same combat mechanics, items, icons, sounds, and animations from LO. I'm really disappointed that they didn't take their most fun mechanics from their last game.. the wing suit and grappling hook was so much fun... I think they are shooting themselves in the foot by not including it but I know it wouldn't make sense in this new game unfortunately.
I’m gonna wait on this game not in a rush.
Looks like i made the correct choice getting Medieval Dynasty yesterday instead of this.
I haven't touched these *survival* games & I somehow feel burnt already of this genre. 😫
Third times a charm right? Right??
Last Oasis was a fairly cool concept, and the Windbeasts; the machines with all the legs powered by wind, were incredible to see brought to life in the game. I've never played them game, and I probably never will sadly. I would love to see Last Oasis given to some competent developers, or remade, or something. Also I'd love it to not be an online only PVP piece of garbage.
Thrice??
After LO I wouldn't touch these guys with a 10ft pole. They were really bad.
Cheers for the sleeping bundle of chaos.
WATTUP FRENDOEZ!
I was originally interested in the game, til i watched someone play a demo and heard the intro of the game. The way it was written sounded pretty juvenile to me; where the whole plot and motives of your character was layed out in the first minute already, with a rather unbelievable story to boot. While the gameplay and building seemed interesting, that intro put me off enough to take the game off my wishlist.
Wish I knew this before I got the game now that im aware that what I got might stay that way…. I’m trying to get it a chance but it has a lot of problems I dislike but gave it a pass because it’s in early access…. But now that I know about their track record I’m very disappointed
Like the haircut
Thanks for the heads up on this. I hovered over the purchase button a couple of times on this one. I think I'll pass for now and watch to see if it gets finished.
Bellwright looks like oasis with a coat of paint.
Actually saved me from buying this.. Thanks Kira! Glad I went with Manor Lords instead.
Really appreciate you trying the game yourself and giving an opinion based on that, it's always a bit annoying when you mention games like Genshin without even trying it, when it's actually a decent game for 100-200+hrs if you have some self-control, ignore the gotcha, and just play the content F2P.
I have 17.5 hours, I love it so far but there are a few weird decisions they have made
Nice haircut!
this game looks like it was made in the early 2000s. wow lol.
Short answer, yea, it for sure is
Idk I was super excited for Dark and Light. Bought it while hype was going crazy. And that just got dropped like a hot pile of shit by snail games. I was wanting to check this game out, but I'm not sending any more money to snail games for an uncompleted, buggy mess. If the game gets completed, and people are generally happy with it, then I will get it.
Published by Snail Games, that's all you need to know to stay the hell away.
What happenned to the cap? Where is your cap frendo! :D
Haircut fresh to death. "Big Haircut!"
12 hrs in.. im having a good time. Been burned out of the gate from lots of early access. I do not feel this way from this game.
snail games developed Atlas, which was another game that could have been really cool but they never finished it. it ended up having so many problems, despite it taking TONS of the systems from ARK (including the UI and player controller and settings options and interactivity) - they had a head start but it always felt like the goal was to make a game to make money off of, and not actually to make a game. I enjoyed Atlas while I played with my friends it but look back and think 'wow that was obviously a bullshit cash grab' - so I'm never buying this game.
