In Turkey you can find a very special ice cream made out of goat milk and the roots of wild orchids. The traditional Maraş ice cream originally comes from Southern Anatolia. It takes very long to melt and is unbelievably chewy. It used to be enjoyed by the sultans but nowadays street sellers enjoy vending it. Ice cream purchasers will often need to show patience and strong nerves in vacation destinations like Istanbul or Izmir.
