A unique recycling program is underway, and it’s helping our bays. By returning old oyster shells up and down the coast, many Texas reefs are on the rebound.

It seems like it would be better just to spread them out, instead of bagging them. I think the bags would interfere with the new oysters. I like the idea of using them to clean the water, not to build up the beaches. That happens naturally from the silt and tides.

Great project! Wondering if the bags are made of plastic, won't they break down into micro plastics?
