As an Austrian: you can't really tell how insanely steep the Streif really is without having seen it in real life. Makes it even more incredible. Respect.
True, the mausfal is that steep because there are mostly no buckels. I did ski le mur in avoriaz where the percentage is higher, but it didn’t look that steep because of the buckels?

Exactly what I was going to put. It’s psychotically STEEP. Only those with balls of steel need apply.
When I go to Kitzbühel no one call it streif but Hahnenkamm . everyone talks about how dangerous this track is but everyone forgets to say how magnificent the landscape is

There was no top top bottom Run at Race Speed in the dark. Guess why ? But still, amazing riding by Lindsay Vonn, conquered the most dangerous and spectacular Downhill in the world (at Race Speed and in the Dark) The Off Camber Entry in the Gliding Part was super sexay 🤤
Nobody on earth would survive this top to bottom in the dark ....

She always was the one that could make the attempt at this course as if it wasn't insane to ski it in daylight but at night ,well it's no surprise she did it & we miss that smile . Great to see !!
I found this quite moving and her credit to the male skiers perfectly pitched. Well done that woman. 🎉
She's not trying to prove anything. She's already proven everything she needed to. She never got her wish to ski it in the daylight against the men, which is something I recall she was petitioning for when she was on the World Cup. I see this as no different than Hirscher's exhibition run last year. He's also retired... Red Bull is always putting together creative stuff like this for our entertainment and enjoyment. And maybe they sell a few more truckloads of fizzy drinks in the process.
OK; this will be controversial, I know, but I believe it 100% and its not a knock against women sports: As great of a skier as she was, she would have finished no better that 20 to 30 back from the best time, if she raced against the men. I for one, am glad that she didn't, as it would have answered an internal question for her, but probably set womans' racing back a bit.... as the startling realization of just how much better the men are in a strength sport. This is better off the way it ended up!

@@trylogic4084 well, I mean classic technic. Overall, if the racer wins, then the technic is ok, but in case of this exact racer. We cannot say that it is perfect for all. That's it. But I really love here style.

@@krestjanin_psycho So do you think that everyone should learn the "classic technique" and then just make changes as necessary so that they can win races? I think Mikaela Shiffrin is the queen of technique. What do you think?
@@trylogic4084 Yeah, I think, Mikaela has a reference technique (or close to). But I'm pretty sure it also works in her case better than maybe in case of some other racer. Marcel Hirscher is also good, but has some quite big changes like rear balance in general. Basically, the best skiers have their own style, and if they would follow all the classic "rules", they wouldn't be the best (probably).

Amazing video! Even if you removed all the marketing signs, you could tell right away this was done by Redbull. Best action content out there. I wish people would stop comparing Lindsay and Mikaela, they are both amazing and each have broken down barriers and inspired male and female skiers all over the world. Great stuff Redbull as usual and please bring back the Crisp Pear flavor!

Speed skiing carries such a high risk of severe injury every day, training etc. I followed Your career since you were very young and have always been amazed at Your level of training and commitment !You will always be the co greatest of all time in my book!

Da gibt's keine Zeit; wie man anhand mehrerer Schnitte sieht, ist sie öfters runter, damit man die verschiedenen Einstellung zusammenbekommt. Daher handelt es sich mehr um ein Kunstwerk in Form eines Videos mit herrlichen Beleuchtungsszenen als um eine schiläuferische Tat.
doing it at night....that's the alpine equivalent of Ginger Rodgers doing all the same dancing Fred Astaire did, but she did it backwards and in heels! I loved watching this run.
Even Lindsay couldn't do it backwards. (Not to mention in heels) :)

I think the mobil cameramen did a great job in the dark. We don't know how fast, or what time or weather the run was continuous. Lighting a half mile road ? But it's movie time.
