  • I had a red nose pit named Baby, that I rescued from deplorable conditions. She was malnourished, pretty much just skin and bones and she had areas all over her where her fur had fallen out all over her body. She was living in a small enclosure, that was pretty much just her own excrement. And when I got her, she was very skittish and untrusting of humans. But I slowly nourished her back too Health and spent everyday with her. just showing her love and that I was never going to abandon her. And that girl blossomed into one of the most loving, affectionate and loyal companions a man could ever ask for. She wasn’t just a pet too me, she was a true member of my family and there’s not a doubt in my mind that she wouldn’t have laid her life down for me. She’s gone now, the cancer got her. But she lived a long and happy life. And there’s not a day that goes by, that I don’t think about my baby girl and how much I miss her and I will always love her and cherish the time I had on this earth with that Angel!!! ❤

  • I'm 75, and our little girl came into our lives when I was 70. She was a puppy. She has been a blessing. If the door bell rings, she sprints to the door barking and growling. Then back to my lap and stands guard until the "bad" guys leave. She sleeps with me. She is very smart.

  • Allowing a child to climb all over the dog isn’t okay. Call me a Karen if you want to but there are limits you have to set no matter how much you trust the dog.

    @nicoletambasco9210@nicoletambasco9210 Жыл бұрын
    • I agree with that. You are not a Karen if you tell the truth. NO dog wants to be crawled on! That's why it is so important to not just teach the dog how to behave with your child(ren), but also your child(ren) what not to do. Like crawling on the dogs, pulling their tails, or slapping the dog in the face. Treat the dog with respect and love and the dog will in kind.

    • Although I agree with this it’s just a kid who doesn’t know better but it’s also the parent’s fault for not correcting the kid. Even so the dog doesn’t seem to mind.

  • *SOUTH CAROLINA BOY MAULED TO DEATH BY ADOPTED PIT BULL IN HORRIFIC FAMILY TRAGEDY* Beaufort, South Carolina - *"All it took was a second and he ended my boys life."* Victoria LaBar is grieving the tragic death of her six-year-old son. The young mother from Beaufort, South Carolina, is devastated. On January 15, she posted on Facebook about a pit bull that had been abandoned on her property. Without hesitation, she and her family took the dog temporarily, hoping his owner would come forward soon. The next days were great. Everyone loved the new guest and even the house cat quickly made friends with him. In an edit of her initial post, LaBar wrote: "I really do not want to take this sweetheart to a shelter... He's great with other dogs, big and small, Children, big and small, AMD MY CAT! He’s amazing! Truly wish I could keep him!" But on January 20, the pit bull suddenly went completely berserk and lunged at LaBar's six-year-old son. *"My other dog and husband even tried to get the dog off my boy," the woman said. But they didn't stand a chance. It only took seconds for the vicious attack to cost the child his life.* A distraught Victoria LaBar took to Facebook shortly after the accident, asking her friends and family for space. "We are grieving ... It does not even feel real that we will wake up tomorrow and our son won't be here."

    • *“SOFT” PIT BULL BEST FRIEND TO TODDLER - RIPS BOY’S FACE* On April 19, Jodie Griffiths, mother of eight, said she wanted to issue a warning to parents about the dog that attacked her son’s face-a large 8-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier-type (Pit Bull) who was Romy’s best friend until he suddenly attacked the little boy and viciously tore his face. "I want to raise awareness and I wouldn't advise anyone with kids having a dog because even if it's an accident it can still happen.” Jodie lives in Walsall, England, according to the Daily Mail, and was at work on December 27, when she received the call from Romy’s father, Daniel, telling her their two-year-old toddler had been attacked. The little boy and his siblings were playing in the living room with their new flying helicopters toys. “My partner got up to go to the kitchen - he heard Romy scream and turned around to find their son covered in blood. That was just how fast it happened,” she said. The eight-year-old family Pit Bull, Blizzard, was asleep on a couch nearby, and she believes the dog was awakened and startled by the noise. The parents say the dog, who was their son’s ‘best friend,’ had never been aggressive before. She never thought her dog would do such a thing, but he left her son scarred for life. She also told Sky News she knew she could not trust the dog again. “It fractured his jaw, ripped all of his nose, ripped out three teeth from the root - he had to have hundreds and hundreds of stitches, they lost count of how many,” she said. Police reported the dog was seized under Section 3 of the Dangerous Dog Act, assessed for rehoming and humanely destroyed. Jodie urged other parents to always be cautious around dogs. “People love their dogs and say, ‘my dog would never do that’ but we used to say the same.”

The boy, whose name has only been released as Semaj S., is "fighting for his life" after the attack, his family tells Fox 5 News. He suffered a fractured skull and other serious injuries. According to the family, Semaj's mother dropped him off with a babysitter on November 3. At some point, the babysitter ran some errands, leaving Semaj with another adult who the mother did not know. During that time, the caregiver's dogs attacked and mauled the 7-month-old. The boy was rushed to the hospital where he has been in the intensive care unit. He had surgery on Sunday, three days after the attack. "Every day is a fight for him," Semaj's aunt tells Fox 5. "Every day is something different. He is still critical in the NICU."

  • *3-YEAR-OLD CA GIRL NEEDS OVER 200 STITCHES AFTER PIT BULL ATTACK* A 3-year-old girl was viciously attacked by a Pit Bull on April 2 around 3:30 p.m. in a home in Hemet, CA, used as a child day-care center. It was reportedly only her second visit to the facility. The girl required 200 stitches, with over 180 to close wounds on her face after the attack, according to Riverside County Department of Animal Services. In an updated release from Animal Services, the girl's mother told them the attack started inside the house and continued outside and in the backyard after the dog pulled her out of the backyard, KTVU reported. “Riverside County Department of Animal Services earlier this week said the dog had been in a pen and tethered in the backyard. The dog’s owner still says that’s where the dog was, but ‘the mother told us that was incorrect,’ John Welsh, a spokesperson for Animal Services, said in a news release Thursday,” according to reports. Officer Mike McGee of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office described the two-year-old Pit Bull-mix, named Bruno, as “powerful and aggressive,” and said the dog lunged at his leg despite the use of a control stick and managed to tear his pants. The Pit Bull is being held in a protective custody kennel at the Western Riverside County/City Animal Shelter, Welsh confirmed.

    • Any large dog can do that! Rotties being at the top of that list! You have to do what you are comfortable with. The only family dig that ever boy me was a beagle. It was a psychotic devil dog! My grandfather got rid of him immediately after he bit me. Not sure what he meant by "got rid of him" but I'm hoping that meant the pound! The only other family pet that attacked me was a cat that would get up on the valance of the curtains and jump down on me scratching the sh!t out of me. Until dad threw it at the wall and then picked him up and drove 20 some miles away to release it into the wild.

    • @@michaelbraum77 Pitbulls are MEDIUM-SIZED dogs, genius. So how do you explain the fact there aren't daily deaths caused by St. Bernards or Great Danes? Because pitbulls were BRED FOR FIGHTING AND KILLING and those other dog breeds weren't. And are you expecting to be taken seriously as you talk about being scratched by a cat one time? By your family full of animal abusers? No wonder. It's the owner's fault, not the animal's, right?

      @zammmerjammer@zammmerjammer Жыл бұрын
    • @@michaelbraum77 "Although it should come as no surprise to most people who study dangerous dog breeds, the pit bull is the most dangerous dog. While not a breed recognized by the American Kennel Club, “pit bull” is a catch-all used to include bulldogs and terriers rather than a single dog breed. According to the aforementioned study, over a period of 13 years, the pit bull was responsible for 284 deaths, roughly 2/3 of all fatal dog attacks in the United States. That is a rather discouraging statistic when one considers that only 6% of all dogs in the United States are pit bulls. They were bred to be dangerous for generations as hunting dogs and fighting dogs, so it is no surprise these dogs continue to be a threat to this day."

    • *Pit bull 'grabbed toddler by the throat'* *Distraught witnesses describe horror attack which claimed life of little Reuben le Roux* People have described the horror of seeing a toddler seized by the throat by a pit bull on Wednesday on a Gonubie smallholding. The baby, 15-month-old Reuben le Roux, later died of his injuries in Frere Hospital. The owner of the dog, Noleen Fourie, desperately tried to free little Reuben after the pit bull, Whisky, had lunged for the baby’s throat and dragged him three metres across her yard. It has now emerged that in the past year, the animal had killed two other dogs. Fourie says she will have Whisky put down. Reuben’s mother Maryke van der Mescht, 37, of Hollows Farm, was devastated by the attack on her son, but said the six-year-old dog had never before shown signs of aggression during their weekly visits. Through sobs, Van Der Mescht said: “I’m broken. Every time I visited Noleen before the dog had never done anything to my baby - yesterday was the first time. “The dog was by the washing line and I was sitting around the corner on the steps feeding the baby. “The dog was barking at other dogs and getting angry. Then it sped around the corner and grabbed my baby by the neck. “I was screaming the whole time, ‘Help, help!’ and everybody was coming out to see what was happening. “Noleen took us to the ambulance depot and the depot was taking too long. “Reuben was still bleeding, it was taking so long ... When my baby was taken to the hospital his heart stopped.”
