  • Nmea system on sinrad go 9 reads 78 gallons but there is approximately 32. Can not get it to read correctly. Maybe sensor trying to read from both vessel and nmea system? Worked find for a year and nmea went off. Finally got bus back on.

  • Do you have to calibrate or do any steps every time you fill up the tank with fuel ?

  • If I need to re-calibrate with a full tank of gas. Can I remove the sending unit to simulate an empty tank of gas?

  • We recently purchased a new boat but did not calibrate it when the tank was empty. We only did calibrated it once we filled up the tank to full. Now it only reads full and does not go down when we use it. Any idea as to why or what we need to do to fix it?

    • I've seen one that had a bad fuel tank sensor that converts the analog signal from the sender to the digital needed at the Simrad and it can cause this problem and need to be replaced. It's generally under the dash and connects to the NMEA network backbone. Your dealer can handle it. Garmin is great if you're looking for basics but the Simrad really is a lot better. I've used them all. Also, this generally works fine without the calibration. I would skip that part entirely.
