In this 19-minute monologue, we go on a journey exploring which movie star has the most pedestrian name, helping James figure out how to actually be friends with Chris Pratt, wishing our cameraman Joel a happy birthday and meeting Guillermo's backup drummer in case his wife goes into labor during the show. And eventually we cover some headlines, which leads to James learning about what a homecoming dance.

Each week night, THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN throws the ultimate late night after party with a mix of celebrity guests, edgy musical acts, games and sketches. Corden differentiates his show by offering viewers a peek behind-the-scenes into the green room, bringing all of his guests out at once and lending his musical and acting talents to various sketches. Additionally, bandleader Reggie Watts and the house band provide original, improvised music throughout the show. Since Corden took the reigns as host in March 2015, he has quickly become known for generating buzzworthy viral videos, such as Carpool Karaoke."

  • I kinda really like how this show is being more and more open about how unimportant headlines are for itself. By the time it airs, any jokes they come up with will almost certainly have already been made by like 6 other shows. And audiences have probably already heard at least 2 of them. So the only way to breakout is to just skip it and go for comedy based on something other than what's in the news.

      @Endubis@Endubis3 жыл бұрын
    • @@katieorr3903 you are right, I also think he knew that before, but he wasn't close to them like now. Sometimes when people say this actor / actress is so humble, he/she know my name, I think; when you work with or for him/her, that is the least he/she should know about you after a month. Because that is the minimum of respect! I'm not talking about real African or Latino names (they are tricky). My boss for example know not only anyone who works for him, he also know their partner and what our hobbies are. Don't you have in the US Christmas dinner with boss, coworkers and their partners and BBQ evening with boss and coworkers in the summer? That is the place where you learn more about your coworkers and boss.

I agree with comments below - I'd watch a whole show of him and the staff just fricking about for fun. I actually think maybe they should do "spots" where we learn a little more about the staff. I actually switch off when the guests show up - much more interested in the opening. Don't care who has a book / film / series / album out.... I care about belly-laughing at properly funny humour. If anyone in a position of power is reading - the improv monologue is whats getting attention, not a 3 minute Brad Pitt interview. More banter, less promotion. Please. I want to know more about the band, the camera crew - the general crew... more important to me than some film made under covid...

  • Somewhere in there, the deepest briers of the city of Angels hides a lofty play of Shakespearean quality. A bunch of rude mechanicals, hempen homespuns, swaggering to the rhymes of Tinseltown´s sharpest Brit. Out of this wood I never desire to go, I shalt remain here, whether I wilst or no.

    • That's Benedict's real name. His father is an actor and doesn't use his real last name. His mother is an actor, too, but she was famous before they were married, so I don't know if she uses her real maiden name or not.

I love the band and the production and film crew so much! Cracks me up and reminds me of what its like to work with people in an office again. This keeps me going!

  • I say this as someone who REVERES this person, but the name “Julie Andrews” is far outstripped by the magnitude of Dame Julie Andrews the individual. Julie Andrews is a perfectly pleasant name but sounds like someone you’re on the parent/teacher association with.

    @whatevs00@whatevs003 жыл бұрын
    • SO true! Especially considering you can find videos of her as a kid singing for royalty so she outstripped her name before she was even a teen! Julie is the name that doesn't seem like a famous person's, I think. Very simple name for the level of skill and grace she has.

  • Can the comments section here on this video just come together and agree that this show has done the best job as a late night show, including the entire studio staff and cameramen into the videos, and just overall handling pandemic style late night the best. I watch the youtube videos of most of the late night shows and none of them feel as natural as this one.

  • Great show. I watch the main (or at least for me) late night shows, James show is very entertaining, and he is quick and smart to caught on topics or information and then bring the team into it. I see the formula in other shows, so far, James's is ahead of the pack.

    • I'm with you on that! I loved watching Craig Ferguson's show simply because of how he just went whatever direction the hilarity took him and was proud to announce to anyone that he didn't give a shit because it was fun. And I absolutely love the late late show and how James Cordon involves everyone in the studio by asking their opinion or poking fun even at himself! I hope it doesn't change
