The Wolf of Wallstreet is still an incredible movie. The Comedy was on point & it had enough Drama to keep you interested.
You’re absolutely correct! Great movie!!
Apollo 13 was a surprisingly accurate Historical Movie. So accurate in fact I got to watch it in my middle school History Class.
I Grew up Watching it when I was Young! And Tom Hanks killed it!
Same here 👍
127 Hours was an insane story, even more so after i had the chance to meet Ralston in person years ago. He was such a humble guy, a real sweetheart
That's incredible! Meeting someone like Ralston, who lived through such an intense and harrowing experience, must have been unforgettable. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Big Short is great at being entertaining but also explains what was happening
Tommy Wiseau certainly created a movie that nobody would ever forget, but for all of the wrong reasons. I feel sorry for the cast and crew who had to deal with his erratic behaviour.
So do I
That was a money laundering scheme , the amount spent on that movie does not make any sense
I would add some foreign film to this Das Boot (Germany 1981, German U-boat in WWI) , Come And See (USSR 1985, Belarussian boy surviving the horrors of WWII) Waterloo (USSR 1970, Napoleon's last battle)
Das Boot is a great movie, also gave us Wolfgang Peterson
Tommy Chong was Jordan Belforts cellmate in prison.
Men who stare at goats was weird. Maybe I was too sober to understand what was going on.
*61 is one of the most meticulously accurate sports movies of all time, not just the big details like the players and uniforms, even down to the teams the Yankees were playing on that date in 1961 are all accurate. There's even a listing in the DVD inlet that shows all 61 of Roger Maris' homeruns that season, the date, and the pitcher he hit it against. It was a passion project for Billy Crystal, the world's biggest Yankee fan, it was personal for him because that season was a big part of his childhood, and he gave the movie all the love it deserved. He even rented Tiger Stadium and renovated it to make it look like Yankee Stadium, and handed out Yankee hats to all the extras that played fans.
That movie was wonderful, but it was a television production (HBO), so not eligible
The Revenant is actually a very good movie
There are a few other movies that would be interesting to know their accuracy - Catch Me If You Can, American Gangster, American Made, 8 Below to name but a few.
Soon as I saw the title, The first thing that popped in my mind was The Big Short. I worked in subprime mortgages from 2001 to 2007. I wasn't in sales or anything like that, but I definitely saw some things. People complain about a lot of new rules in mortgage these days. I know why a lot of them exist.
You people ruined my life... so thank you so much. I'm not kidding
@@mikememine1423 yeah, because I'm the one who made all the decisions to defraud people. 🤨 I wasn't _allowed_ to explain loans to customers, I had higher ups who wanted me to do things I refused to do, I wasn't about to take the fall for someone who made 10x what I did. I lost my job then my home, I was effectively homeless for about a year or so, couch surfing. I had to restart my retirement savings when I finally could get another job. I've been able to save enough to live for about a year. Direct your anger where it belongs, to the people who were in charge and the loan officers who took advantage of a system without regulations to protect consumers.
In the movie "The Wolf of Wall Street", Jordan hits his wife in the stomach when she threatens to leave him, but in real life, he actually kicks her off the stairs
That is a cruel bastard!
And he was considered a loser amongst his peers.
"Surprisingly Historically Accurate " first example "althought the story is largely fictional" oy
Never watched any of these movies 😅 but I might give them a watch
That’s incredibly well-done!
The Disaster Artist is a great movie that highlights the creation of The Room.
On the radio broadcast of Coast to Coast AM the day the World Trade Center bombing in 1993 , Art Bell was talking to famous remote viewer Sean David Morton to discuss what was going to happen . Everyone was wondering if there would be a collapse . Sean responded by saying the bombing wouldn't cause a collapse . Then he said something really strange. On the air , Sean said the towers would fall when each one would be hit by jet airliners . Men Who Stare At Goats might sound ridiculous BUT it was about remote viewing .
You forgot A Night to Remember ( more accurate then Cameron’s Titanic)
I was first introduced to Blackkklansman when I started my first semester in college. I grew up in Colorado, but I never heard about the story til then.
Men Who Stare at Goats one of my favorite movies of all time and I'm THRILLED to see it on this list, cause no one ever talks about that flick.
Wolf of Wall Street was the absolute best 👍 book was phenomenal as well 🙌
Charlize Theron...oh my
@@mikememine1423 Margot Robbie 😀
I've actually seen more than half these movies and it never ceases to amaze me that for whatever liberties were taken to adapt these stories for the big screen they were each still faithful to their real-life inspirations in many more ways than one.
The Revenant should absolutely NOT be on a list of "Surprisingly Historically Accurate Movies". 1. Hugh Glass didn't have a half native American son. He never had kids. 2. He didn't fight to the death with John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). 3. Very little is known about Fitzgerald other than he was on the expedition. Also, much of this story about Glass is unproven so calling it historically accurate is senseless. I actually read that when Glass finally tracked down Fitzgerald, he was working with the Army and was basically off limits. So, Glass simply walked up to him and took his rifle that Fitzgerald took from him as he lay dying and then just left... supposedly
The Big Short is excellent!!! Very well done! They do a great job of showing what all went on in entertaining detail.
It's insane how accurate Tombstone is. You wouldn't think so, but it is.
I'm your Huckleberry
I'm pretty sure Wolf of Wall Street is based on the book which was very far from what actually happened
Der Untergang (The Downfall) should've been included too, it very accurately depicts the last ten days of Hitler
I put off watching the wolf of Wall Street as I thought I wouldn’t like it but first time watching it made it into more top 10 movies
A fair bit of the Blackkklansman movie was made up (i.e. the bombing plot line), but a lot of it did actually happen. I read the book shortly before the movie came out, and it was fascinating.
Honorable mention: Pain and Gain. It's unbelievable that any of the madness portrayed in that movie could be based on real events
Society of The Snow is more accurate than Alive
Apollo 13 has already been mentioned so I will choose a few others. The events of 13 Days really happened and it was the closest we came to war with the Soviet Union. While it was a dramatization A League of Their Own actually happened and some of the women ball players from the league were in the movie. Finally even though it was hokie Atomic Twister actually happened. The main difference is that the second twister had hit the town itself and they moved the setting to Tennessee.
Where's Inglourious Basterds? Or Anastasia, the Don Bluth movie?
dont be stupid
And Once Upon a Time in Hollywood!
BlacKkKlansman was my favorite movie. 🎉
Wolf of wall street is awesome and Hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂
It doesn't beat Goodfellas in my opinion. That movie is phenomenal!
It’s a movie that I can watch numerous times!!!

"Zodiac" is missing.
I saw the number one spot coming a mile away it’s one of my all time favorite movies
I’m kind of amazed Goodfellas wasn’t on this list.
So by "historically accurate movies", you mean the premise of the movie being accurate, not the details within the movie.
You forgot Into The Wild 🤔
why not listing cinamea paridiso, the piano man
Great movie
For the "Alive" is the 1993 version. I like this version. Now we have a new version "Society of the Snow." I haven't seen this one. I hope I can see it soon. The 1993 is a good version as good as the book. Sometime for me, books made into a movie are a disappointment; not with Alive. enjoy the book too. In addition, there are other version around the world made in other countries and other languages in the 70's. Hard to say which if the most realistic. You would need to see them all.
When I watched WoW in theaters I loved the movie but I thought 90% of it was exaggerated and/or made up.
Wolf of Wall Street is one of the most entertaining films I’ve ever seen
Hello? Dumb Money? Hellrrr?
I don't know...flubbing Tommy Wiseau's Polish accent doesn't seem very realistic to me. 🤨🤔 So...let's see: _Schindler's List,_ _Apollo 13_ and _A Civil Action_ should have been on this list.
3:29 waters of nazareth
What about Goodfellas?
The revolver
Please be more specific
I’ve seen all.
Awesome
where's one million years b.c :)
_127 Hours_ is too graphic for me, and the facts behind it are stranger than fiction.
Society of the Snow should be here instead!
ELVIS and Bob Marley One Love want to know your location
Martin Scorsese??? Forget it!!!💢😠💢
It is interesting that James Franco was in 2 of the most accurate films of all time...too bad he is also accurate at dating 17 year olds - and I love Danny Boyle (minus The Beach) and my favorite band is Phish which is only played to my knowledge in 1 film the song Sleeping Monkey while James is still not alone yet but flirting w 2 hippy girls earlier (he should have not played Phish my wife hates the band too and perhaps he would have 2 arms and hands)
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Lord of the rings wasnt true
Your moms historically accurate
No need for talk like that. No need to be rude.
stop making #1 the thumbnail... use a honorable mention which u barely even do anymore gollllllllllly
😮
Alive?? Are you fr?? Have you seen Society of the Snow?? This shows how “researched” these videos are
