Last month I spent some time in Leticia, the most southern part of Colombia in the Amazon.
A place I'd always wanted to visit since making Colombia my home base.

@@Andrij_Kozak I've been to Brazil alone, years back and met tons of random people, mainly women, like that, in all kinds of random scenarios. The people there were so hospitable, and curious about foreigners, like I was in another planet. And I'm a shy guy who doesn't speak Portuguese and avoids talking to people unless necessary and was very cautious, but always went with my instincts and never had any bad experiences. And no one ever asked me for money or to buy them anything. (And i'm not white, European or American i'm 100% black African, so that did not give me any unfair 'advantage' as some would assume)

As a man now in my early 40's it's taken me a long time to realize money isn't everything and family is the most important thing. Chasing dreams isn't a bad thing by any means but it's worth noting in the end without family to share it with. Funnily enough on the CEFR scale of language learning A1 is lowest. The truth is it isn’t hard and just about anyone can do it, I’m studying my fourth language now and I’m not 20. It’s just that most people naturally don’t believe themselves to be capable of doing it as well.

His Spanish is really good for what it is. However, some of his subtitle translations and what he's trying to say doesn't add up. Still needs a lot of work but he's obviously getting around just fine with his knowledge

I have been kidnapped in Jamaica on a bike and given an amazing tour. My tourguide/kidnapper sure didn't look like this woman. Wow what a beautiful person she is, and the whole family & community. Very humbling to experience and watch how the rest of the world lives, we have lost ourselves so much in America. I wish I was better at learning languages so I could do something similar. It's so beautiful and sad at the same time. If you took that woman out of her home she may grow bitter. But it's so beautiful how serene and happy they are as a family everyone knows their places in the family their jobs per se. No se dices en English.
