This round-house is something very special indeed. Completely DIY crafted and packed full of amazing design features, this is a small home to take note of! What makes this stunning home even better is that its surrounded by abundant permaculture food forest gardens and all of this has been accomplished on just a quarter acre section!
Tim and Carmen have built an incredible home here. Everything about this round house is designed to maximise the function of the home while minimising its impact on the surrounding environment and creating more space for their gardens. It's a masterclass in good building. And for such a compact footprint, it functions as an incredible home for this family of five.
We hope you enjoy the full tour of this incredible home and garden.

    • Yes I agree! I started when my kids were young and I was in my early thirties. I’ve now turned 40 and still find I need less and less. I am more able to enjoy the things we have. Just this avo we took a tea/ coffee set that we received as a wedding present, not once was it used in our 18 years of marriage! I wish we had started this sooner! I wish we hadn’t become burdened with so much in our 20’s! Debt clutter stress. Life is better without it all!

    • Interesting and beautiful home; a piece of art! My only “huh?!” moment was the owner’s comment on the commodification of homes being wrong. It’s great that he has the skills to build his home. Some of us don’t have that and while my home has not been built by me, it still lifts my spirit and is an expression of what matters to me.

      @peggyrbaldwin@peggyrbaldwin10 ай бұрын
    • @peggyrbaldwin My interpretation of his comments are that because for almost every homeowner the monetary value of the property is crucial to their networth and financial stability there's a tendency to think in financial terms rather than spiritual terms. That way of thinking comes into play in all sorts of ways when deciding about changes to the house or the grounds because the next investor in the commodity you currently reside in must be assumed to have conventional tastes while your tastes might be idiosyncratic.

  • This is my most favorite home you have ever showcased on your channel! I love that it sets an amazing example of how a family of 5 can live on a 1/4 acre section. It's aesthetically stunning, homely and grounding plus the property shows the potential to feed a whole family on. I'm so blown away and I feel this sets such a great standard of where we should be moving towards as a species. And the comment around the commodification of houses is so apt, so many people live in grossly over inflated homes that people end up working their whole lives to pay off. The rooms all downstairs reflect a tribal way of living and must create such a secure feeling for the children. I wish to manifest a beautiful home and property like this one so I can raise my family in. Thank you so much ❤❤❤

Then going back a generation my father grew up with 6 siblings and his parents with one bathroom! It's a modern idea that we need multiple bathrooms to waste space and water in a home, at most we could have one bathroom and an extra loo. This is a stunningly beautiful home that I can see fulfilling all this families needs.

    • @mtzjotz that's an awfully moralistic meaning to pour into a building, and with it a lot of extra time and attention and money poured into making it so valuable, and into tying yourself up in it, only for it to wind up in the hands of others when you move or pass away.

  • This is an awesome home. These two hit the jackpot with each other - perfectly suited together, with the same ideals and work ethic, and such a lovely, peaceful vibe. I love their calming, beautiful home. I'll be honest, I've seen a few round houses in the region I live in (northern NSW, Australia) and they've not really been well thought out for liveability - so I was expecting this to be something of the same. But wow. The thought that has gone into the architecture, liveability and usefulness of the spaces is truly exceptional.

  • These people are living my dream. My dream is to create a small footprint and have the land both provide for me and shelter the animals around me. I dream of turtle and snake habitats. I know I'm kind of a weirdo, but living in the world today really makes me appreciate what this cool couple have realized.

  • Again, I keep finding a new favorite home with each new video lol! I would absolutely love to have the inverse of this. I like the idea of the top floor being the bedrooms because it is the most private. Thanks for the lovely tour.

    • I was thinking how perfect it is that the bedrooms are downstairs, since they tend to be cooler snd sleep seems always deeper and more restful when it’s cool in them.

  • Exceptional indeed, Bryce. Thank you guys for sharing it. I was mesmerized by this beautiful, circular home. A home like this requires the smarts to design and build it. Tim and Carmen are definitely not your average bears. They created an extraordinary design for their home and family to be enjoyed for many years to come. Kudos to you both!
