Is that a UFO @6:14????
ya know, a few people have mentioned that that, and I keep watching it over and over.....is it a UFO in terms of aliens??? I dont know, but there is something there
I have been anxiously waiting for someone to go and do a lake level report since the hurricane. Thank you so much for your videos.
I appreciate those kind words! Thank you thank you thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video. I have been editing like a mad man the last few days to get it uploaded, and I was just as curious to see the final aftermath of the area....thanks again for tuning in 🙏
The lake may have raised a few inches from the hurricane and this weekend's monsoon rains. The real source of water is from the Rocky Mountain snow melt. Rain is nice but won't make a huge difference.
@@kennixox262 Great point about a source of something, as opposed to a reservoir that holds something.
Look for “Sin City Outdoors”. I believe it’s a father and son that do weekly updates on lake mead while they fish. The son usually does the narrative in the videos. If you want to know. The lake has risen tremendously with all the snow pack from this past winter. Just heads up.
Their channel is amazing! Lots of great stuff 👍
As a swedish person living in sweden but seen how much hooverdam went down over years im happy you guys get some levels back but for sure MORE much MORE needs to be done to restore levels.
Really enjoy your updates... so appreciate the way you do it.
Thank you georgegrierson!! Appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed the videos!
And since this was posted, we've gotten a heck of a lot more rain! I would love to see how it looks now!
That is absolutely correct vegasrenie! A lot of people have made that same request! ......I just may have to go back out there!!
Prob hasn’t changed at all
Lake Las Vegas is a very compelling story all by itself. Looks like all the debris from the Valley's washes ended in there. 😮
During last years rains it was hilarious. Being an Oregonian rain isn't feared. Me and my buddy casually walked around the linq promenade or whatever it is next to it it and got a full pizza from the pizza place there and took it to the beer bar across the street bringing food for anyone that wanted. Great time was had in the rain.
Living in Vegas when I was younger, I can recall one year we had a weird weather system that dumped a lot of rain for a long while. Anyway, that was the only time I saw the desert green and lush. Including the surrounding moutains and hills. It was quite something to see.
Thank you for sharing
All this rain is probly because of the climate change we all hear about ,and the result is as @dannyfrog said the desert blooms green ,acting as a carbon trap ,because that’s what plants need ,water and carbon ,just shows we don’t need to worry about it,nature takes care of all that excess carbon just fine.
I've watched a lot of videos on Lake Mead, but nothing is even close to yours. Great job! Thank you
I appreciate that ronstein7359! Thank you so much for checking out the video! I definitely had a lot to include and I didn't want to leave anything out..I was telling some of the other viewers that I almost rushed production and left certain things out just to get the video up quicker.....but I'm glad I didn't.....thanks once again for checking out the video 🙏🙏🙏
2 feet may not sound like much, until you consider how BIG Lake Mead actually is.
Exactly!!
This is awesome. I don't doubt more rain is to come. It's good to see the lake being filled up once again.
I was kind of thinking the same thing, but monsoon season ain't over just yet......ya never know
as long as we are in El Nino...more rain this winter and spring@@jessiesdroneadventures7464
Thanks for the update. I love the before and after comparisons.
Hey thanks! The before and afters take a while to put together, but they give the best visual on much things change week over week! Thanks for watching
When the water levels are that low, the Bureau of land management should be getting rid of all those old boats and motors. They can be very dangerous when the water levels rise.
I highly agree!....but they wont.....the park says its not in their policy to remove them.........and it would be too costly.......still makes no sense
Good to see the water levels come up.
So much more on Concerned about the Mole people, than anyone one else in Vegas. So good to see Lake Mead rising. And the BOAT is standing, YES!!!
Thanks Laurie! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Yes! I had no idea that Las Vegas had all those tunnels, and that people were full on living in them! Hopefully, they were all able to get out. Maybe now the city will come up with something to help them find better digs.
Wow, it's amazing to see that the island by the boat standing up is totally under water now. Very nice before and after shots.
Thanks dawn!! Las Vegas is suppose to get some more rain this weekend too!
@jessiesdroneadventures7464 yes, I heard that! Are you going back soon?

Thank you ricke451 !
A great video especially the side-by-side before and after pictures. Really wonderful to see how the water level has risen but we've got a long way to go. Seeing the abandoned Echo Bay Resort is really sad to see. I am 62 now but remember staying there with a group of friends on a ski trip in about 1980. About eight cases of Bud talls, a 5 pound can of Rosarita refried beans, a bunch of tortillas, and a big bag of cheese. oh, and we crammed about eight guys in one room. Young and dumb but so much fun!
lol thanks for sharing that story dennisbradshaw8335, sounds like it was a pretty happenin time!
wow. none of you struck a match while in the hotel room did ya??
😂😂I thought about that while I was typing the reply. I don't know how we survived without gas masks. I didn't even mention the scorpion in our cove when we lifted our EZ Up one morning. I think that the gas was more of a threat! @@jimmylieb5225
So what happened to the Echo bay resort. Just abandoned? Did the lake recede too far?
This is what I found from an article in 2022. "Echo Bay Hotel (actually formally known as Echo Bay Motel) was a small resort on Lake Mead that closed its doors in 2010 thanks to a rapidly receding water level greatly affecting tourism. As Lake Mead disappeared, so too did the recreation on the lake - as well as the infrastructure that once thrived there."@@ronwilken5219
Great video and update. Thanks again.
Hey thanks!! Had a lot of fun putting it together! Thanks again for checking out the channel! 🙏👍💯
Finally someone gives good information on lake mead. Thanks
nope .55 inch in Vegas did not could not make much more then 1/8 to 1/4 of inch in mead more like melt water
well thank you very much for saying that garyhirtz4392! and thank you for taking time to check out the video 👍
Wow! Lake Mead. That's Awesome.
Thanks for the before and after shots, the context really helps
Hey no problem roseannebarks9327! I think the before and after shots really give a better representation of how much it really changes, vs just looking at a chart, and judging by the comments I've been reading.....a lot of other people feel the same.....thanks again for checking out the video 👍🙏💯
That doesn’t look like half an inch of rain, that looks more like several inches of rain. My guess is that the rain gauge that was used was in an area that got much less rain.
Awesome job, love seeing these updates and the changes! 👏👏👏👏
Thank you Gerardellis1127! glad you enjoyed the video and I had a lot of fun putting it together!.........I almost rushed the video just to get it up a few days sooner........but im glad I didnt. Thanks again for checking out the content!
As a resident of nearby Henderson I can honestly say that these floods are both interesting and terrifying!
Agreed! It's fascinating to see all the footage of the flooding and goes to show you how quickly water can accumulate in certain areas....but the downfall is the damage it causes
Welcome to real life.
It is still amazing to me to see the water so low. I left Vegas in 1983 when I graduated from high school. The risers on the spillways were raised all the way up and water was flowing over them.
Thank you for sharing 👍
Thank you SO MUCH for your video! I have been very concerned about Lake Mead. I live in Virginia and on the East Coast, we only hear if there is a problem! It is great to see Mother Nature taking care of the issue! 🥰💙🌎💚🇺🇸
Hey no problem blue_moon6490! Glad you enjoyed the video. And yes, mother nature is slowly trying to heal 👍
@@jessiesdroneadventures7464 , She does take time. Patients is key. ✨💖✨🕊
@blue_moon6490 that's why i don't believe climate change crap. God and mother nature will heal what's needed. the climate changes everyday, every month, every year. and trees and plants need co2. don't believe what the govt. says anymore, at least right now, because they're all making millions scaring people!
I’m curious, what happens to all that garbage and crap and possibly bodies that the floods washed out of the tunnels? Does it just become more artifacts for people to find the next tome the lake level drops?
Thanks for the update, so many people rely on lake water levels.
Hey no problem Itanthrax8435 thanks for checking out the video

That area need about 4-5 more storms to get back to the original line.
Thank you for reporting. This is soooo important that these lakes get water again.
Thank you!
Another beautiful southwest morning in Las Vegas… One of about 13,000 in the last 46 years for me
Weather is CYCLICAL. These floods were an annual event when I first moved to Vegas, it's why you see million of dollars spent on man made "wash basins" around Southern LV, that collect rain runoff. We are in a drought cycle that is hopefully coming to an end. The record amount of snowfall in Utah/Colorado last winter, is a great sign that things might be changing and hopefully lake Mead, Lake Powell, et. al., fills back up to full capacity.
Great footage of before & after...love to see how the weather changes the levels of Mead.
Thank you nathanmarchant2175! I really like compiling the before and after photos. it totally beats showing a boring chart, I mean dont get me wrong, the water level chart is beneficial but when you can put a photo with the numbers, its gives a better visualization!...........Thanks for tuning in an checking out the channel!

Tropical storm Hilary. NOT Hurricane Hilary. It was no longer a hurricane by the time it got here.
😮0:40
Me too!
And here we are thinking Hillary was all talk and no show... a blowhard Jack o' lantern.
Learning Opportunity and DISINFORMATION ALERT! Please don't contribute any rise in Lake Mead water level to any amount of rain that falls in Vegas area or especially California!! Please don't do that in any future videos, no matter if it's a "Hurricane!" Let me explain; The topography of California contributes 0.00% of flow into Lake Mead. Instead Cal. leaches water OUT of Mead constantly through the aqueducts built decades ago. Secondly Vegas; the water from Vegas DOES flow into mead, but the lake is soooo large (largest in the U.S.) that Vegas drain water *might* contribute 1" to the lake-- but still doubtful. The comparison is to say when you dump a single glass of water into your swimming pool, the water rises.... (!) Now, the reason Mead is rising; They (The Bureau of Reclamation) are draining LAKE POWELL (Second largest reservoir in the U.S.) upstream of Mead. They have been doing this consistently since early June. And that info can be found on the same site you referenced regarding Mead levels. They are doing this in an attempt (God only knows why they favor NV over other states (probably Casino Power :~)), but to avoid water restrictions in Vegas in 2024. Thanks for taking the time to read. The video posted below will clearly show evidence of this... kzhead.info/sun/f7yBcremmaqBdXk/bejne.html www.watereducation.org/aquapedia/lake-mead
Nicely done! Beautiful before and after footage with those comparison shots! Hopefully, I get to go out to the lake next I'm there. 💚🌎🍀
Hey thanks! hope you make it out there, it's a beautiful area.!
I just checked, the lake is 0.00 change since this time yesterday. However, the lake is up about 18 inches from about 10 days ago. And from January 1st, it's up about 22ft. That's about 528 billion gallons of water. Fortunately, we're headed into cooler weather (less evaporation)and hopefully a productive wet winter.
Brother! So appreciate you putting in all the foot work! "Literally!". I always wonder about these facts and you put them out there! Damn! Yea jamesfrost7465 it's a shame what happened to the marina, but I know they will bounce back! More people coming to the lake as the water gets higher
Interesting facts and comparisons. Thank you for all of your hard work. Excellent video.
Thank you lilhoneysworld6744! Glad you enjoyed the video! 🙏🙏🙏
One thing to keep in mind is that the Lake is shaped like a funnel or a martini glass. You will get a lot of change for a little rain right now. But as the water level increases, you will see slower results. But another factor is that runoff from Las Vegas will never come close to the runoff from the snowy mountains in Colorado. Any increase from now until the end of the year is gravy.
Thank you for showing us the water level
Hey no problem jenniferlam9778! Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching
The Nevada desert is beautiful, but brutal and unforgiving.
Amen to that!
@@jessiesdroneadventures7464 people don't know how serious a flash flood is until they've been in one. I'm from Oregon and I visit Vegas regularly. But I did get caught out last July during the monsoon season. It's no joke.
I lived at Callville Bay in 1991 when the lake was 100+ feet higher. One of my favorite times was after rain, The desert would just spring to life with every color you could imagine. Some of the best times of my life were at that lake.
This is what people do t realize what has happened to Lake Mead after 23 years of drought. In 2000 the Lake Mead level was at cavity of 1223 feet at Lake Mead where water actually had to be released from tbe lake. I also remember the lush desert.

The Rockies had a banger snow year. That’s where the majority of water is coming from.
That is the cleanest those tunnels have been in decades!!
Haha, I agree. About time they got a good cleaning
2-3 more times rain like that and we will be good to go for a year.
Sounds like you confirmed the LV rain was only .55 inches (and were also surprised by it). How could that little rain cause so much accumulation? Is it because the city is totally cemented over w no place for absorption? Thanks for interesting post
The soil in Las Vegas does not absorb water. The rain just bounces off the dirt.
Good documenting of the situation!
Thank you wjmascitello! glad you enjoyed it, was a lot of fun visiting vegas and lake mead this time around, and I had a lot of fun putting the video together! thanks again for tuning in!
Love the content Jesse. Great video.
Hey thanks zonacrs!! glad you enjoyed it! had a lot of fun putting it together!
The desert flooding is amazing. The sun baked ground doesn't absorb water quickly so it all just runs off to the low land. During the 2014 flooding in Maricopa County AZ, my zip code got 6.25" in a 24 hour period. That was a lot of water.
right! it doesnt take long for it to collect
After todays 4 inches of rain I can’t wait for a new update.
I will do my best! 👍
40 yeaes ago, my family went on a road trip and we visited Lake Mead. There was so much water, vast amounts if it. There were also many camoers and recreation goers. Crazy
Great to see the water going up; I agree about good storm or three will completely submerge vertical boat, the floater and SS minnow.
I think the Vegas area is suppose to get a little rain this weekend too! I don't think it will be enough to submerge it, but I still want to see how much it will go up!!!
Just sit right here and you’ll hear a tale, A tale of a fateful trip. That started from this tropic port, Aboard this tiny ship…

This is amazing! and fascinating. That is a tremendous change in the water levels! Bless your heart for doing this and sharing. I'm in Arizona and haven't been up north to LV or Mead in quite some time. So seeing this change is very heartening! I also wonder - all this increase can't be just from the hurricane rains - has to be partially the spring runoff, correct? Another question - when was the Echo Bay motel in operation? was that a 60's operation? In any case, thanks so much for this birds' eye view - you're appreciated!
Why thank you jessstone! Appreciate you saying that. A lot of the water level Increases was due to spring run off, I would say the majority of it......and other factors that contributed to the rise of water was regular rainfall. Echo Bay resort was built in 1962, and it's a shame to know that it will no longer be around . I did a full length video on echo Bay resort too last year, I go more in depth on the history. Worth checking out! Thanks again for tuning in to the video!

This happened about 10 years ago, too. We had a couple of really light winters in a row, the news were all lamenting about the level of Lake Powell, and the tree-huggers at my work were saying that it will never return to a normal level. One hard winter later and levels were right back up.

Thanks for the updates, Jesse! Lots of time went into making this video, along with finding and cataloging that old* video footage. I'd be curious to know of any updates to the the safety of the individuals in the drainage system of Las Vegas. Definitely seems like the city is demonstrating some severe negligence by allowing people to live in them in the first place and it's a major lawsuit waiting to happen.
Oh thank you! 🙏 yea it took a while to piece things together and to go back and look for the " before" photos...but I'm pretty proud of it. As far as the safety goes, that could be something I could include in a future video, and I agree with you, and people have been living down there for years so it's kind of mind blowing that nothing has been really done to better the situation......only time will tell, thanks again for checking out the video!

Back in the 80's 90's when it rained, they'd look for bodies & cars washed away in the underground parking garage of the Imperial Palace, across from the Linq.
It’s weird to see that 0.5 inches of rain can cause so much flooding there. Where I live in south Louisiana we regularly get 1+ inch storms but we don’t get any flooding.
That makes sense. I mean Nevada is mostly a very dry desert that rarely ever sees any rainfall. Louisiana is a swamp, which gets the opposite effect, and gets too much rainfall.
@telordesuvage3072 SAME in northeast. The bushes & grass & trees absorb the water & hold it. But in the desert vegetation doesn’t exist to do that. So the water just flows like a river
Good way to present receipts 🧾 of factual and visual data.
Thank you!
Good to see. You’re comparing it to a record low though and lake mead is still only at 40% capacity. Basically the ever expanding Vegas region is taking out more water than lake mead can supply. I remember going to the lake in 2016 at the last record low. You’re just about back up to that level now.
Waiting for videos like yours for a while. no graphs and such. Thank you!

As a person with 2 rental properties in Las Vegas, up in the higher areas, I was concerned what continued drought would do the the value of these homes. While I feel relieved by this, I recognize the cause of my relief may have caused the demise of an unknown number of mole people.
I didn't realize that Las Vegas had that many homeless people, nor their unique way to beat the heat. I do hope they were all able to get out, but I hear what you're saying. I'm not sure what the answers are for the people there, but it's sad when others just see them as a problem to be washed away.
Nice! Looks like it was higher at some point by the change of sand color.
