You forgot Shang won a point at the net where he squatted in front of the net and held his racket up just over the net and moutet hit the racket. Insane match

I was aware of Moutet's reputation but never actually watched any of his matches, I did today and I get it now, the guy is insufferable, even when the supervisor was called on court you could see the disdain in his face knowing he had to deal with Moutet, it was so obvious LOL

It slipped. When you have sweaty hands and are in the conclusion of a match, that's not entirely unlikely to happen.

god i love seeing shapo play well. it's been a while. fully believe if he can be more patient with his point construction and wait for the best winner chance, he can beat most players in the world. that final point backhand flick was just amazing. hope he can keep building on this
Denis was building his game 3 years ago, when he stopped working with Youzhny. He reached Wimbledon SF. I have begun to feel that something is amiss in his head. I have lost interest in following him as a fan. Watching that match today has almost pulled me back in. I would have to see more consistent results from him, moving forward. He turned 25 years old, 9 days ago. I hope he is realizing that these are his best years, if he wants to make it back into the top 20 at least, if not further. His peers have become so much better now. We shall see what happens moving forward. Everyone would love to see him at the top again, because his game is so exciting to watch.
If he goes with this new "pirate" look and loses, that's a total failure.
people have been saying this for many years now, sasdly he s never gonna become consistent, he is a wawrinka type player very very hot and cold, plus that they have gamestyles that are very hard to be consistent with. Fed is prety much the only pure shotmaker that was also consistent at a GOAT level
@@VladRadu-tq1pg absolutely! but i would be chuffed to bits if shapovalov pulled off a wawrinka-esque slam run later in his career. and i think his game is capable of it if he goes on a hot streak. i doubt he will ever be consistently great, but he could conceivably win a slam by redlining stanimal style
@@masemoney666yes! I share exact same feeling. People forget that Wawrinka peaked in his late 20's. Shapo is oftenly talked down as a 'lost cause' just because he 'didn't delivered' after so much hype when he came out, but that's definetely not the case here as we can see his quality is there. Once he locks in with the consistency I can see he becoming a mighty force on the tour.

Very impressed with Shang, that was a real test of his durability and he perservered. One criticism though, although his groundstrokes are amazing he lacks dropshots and a net game. I hope he develops these and becomes a real force!
He did many dropshots in the whole match and with high effectivity. But I agree he doesn't have net game.

Moutet is always heated during the games but he loves the game and respect it he just need to manage his emotions don’t know why everybody hates him when others do the same
Monfils is the only player consistently has a smile at the end of a match and that’s awesome!

I watched a bit of the Moutet vs Shang match. Moutet seems like a genuinely nice guy & he incorporates having fun into his game. He even insisted on having a cup of coffee brought to him on court. 😂 Moutet is actually very skilled. He plays very similar to Medvedev. Good luck Corentine! Good luck also to Shang! I'm going to cheer for them both!

Shapo is playing great tennis. His confidence is high and his ball striking is super clean.
Kokkinakis has to learn consistency. Tough matchup with Draper, but Thanasi is Top 15 material with his ball striking. Needs to be sharper with movement and antitpication and stop giving away so much court by relying on that forehand. Remarkable player when he's in good form.

This isn't in the highlights; but spare a moment for Aslan Karatsev... did anybody else watch a LIVE stream of it? I'm so psychologically BROKEN after watching it LIVE... i can't imagine honestly how mentally scrambled HE must be. Aslan was 6-5 40-0 [serving for first set], got BROKEN! he had a total of 6 set points i think. Then he was 6-2 up in the TB... so in total AT LEAST 10 set points in total of which 3 were consecutive at 6-5 & 4 were consecutive in the TB... This was his first match since Jan... was he rusty?! i can't say he was considering he looked great & pounded the ball like the Aslan we all know & love... but he is SO MENTALLY WEAK it's a joke! Why are such talented beautiful ball strikers SO mentally weak??!?!?! & Aslan needs the points but this CHOKE from hell may affect him for the rest of the season. 😭😭😞
