Someone said that The Conjuring movies are just the MCU for Catholics and that comments been living in my head rent-free ever since.
😭😭😭😭
It’s true, I am Catholic so I can confirm.
You know it’s funny if you look into the real Warrens and their cases, you’ll learn they were pretty disgusting people who preyed on the mentally ill to milk whatever profits and fake they could. Also Ed was banging a minor and when Loraine found out about his affair, the chick moved in with them for like over year. You’d think affairs and all that drama would keep them out of the Catholic Church or prevent Ed’s confirmation but then again this is the same religion that gets off on their choir boys so 🤷🏻♂️
@@lawrencetalbot8346 ok and?

A cut between the Warrens saying, “Come to dinner and see our artifacts” and the lawyer the next day looking shell-shocked is actually pretty funny.

You may think Ed being hospitalized after being attacked by a demon isn't a storyline you're interested in but, the movies have been setting this up for a long time. Loran's fear and visions are losing Ed while doing this kind of work and he's almost gotten killed multiple times. Now that he's actually gotten to a time where she couldn't save him and he was on death's door.
Her having his medicine in her locket almost made me cry lol

I’m not sure he meant that Ed being hospitalized was the dead storyline. I thought that’s what he meant, but I’m assuming the pointless plot line he referred to was the doctor inferring that more was wrong with Ed and he’d need to stay longer but then he’s fine enough to go home.? Idk just because I agree that Ed’s health and well being is super important to the plot like you said, so i feel it’s hard to believe that he found it unimportant🤷🏻♀️

@@Bobba8590 thanks 🙏
For me one of the things I disliked the most was that the antagonist was a normal human being. The whole point of the conjuring universe to me is humans vs demons. I don't mind having a human that summons a demon but I have little interest in seeing human vs human in these movies. Demons are by their nature super powerful and you can do a lot of interesting and scary stuff with them as you dont need to follow any "real logic". I had sort of the same issue with Annabelle comes home. When you have such a powerful and interesting villain in Malthus, why add in more demons and ghosts? Focus on the one and explore what they can do. Adding more just muddies everything. At least that is my opinion.
@@lotsofotherstuff I get what your saying and yes demons are scary because they can do stuff that no human can do. But the thought of a human being wanting to sic those scary ass demons on you just to complete a deal is horrifying to say at least. Honestly they need to change the “Based on a True Story” to “Based on True Events” because they deviate significantly from the actual story and just go to the realm making stuff up.
It wouldn’t make a difference if they both say “based on”

Considering that the selling-point for the first Conjuring was “it’s rated R because it’s just that scary”, this one definitely loses points for not being scary, but at least it didn’t try to shoehorn in an out-of-place monster for the sake of a spin-off. I’d say it’s the bottom Conjuring movie, but in the middle of the overall universe.
agreed still a great movie
Scary is subjective. It doesn’t lose points just because YOU don’t find it scary. The general audience does which is why these films do well in the box office and get good reviews.

completely dissagree, i thought this was one of the better. i guess to each their own.
Well they changed directors and writers from the other movies so it was kinda expected
Tbh, I was expecting some more scares. This movie wasn't entirely bad and was actually enjoyable to watch, but I feel that they could have done more on the horror genre since all the conjuring movies are horror based. Sad to see that James Wan didn't direct this movie, when he literally directed all of the other conjuring movies. Seems weird that they didn't have him direct it, since he directed the other three. Still a good movie tho.
I’m guessing James Wan is busy getting ready to direct Aquaman 2, a far bigger picture to Warner. He did produce this movie, though.
He is quite busy with other major projects but he help produce the movie, that’s why the movie wasn’t a disappointment unlike other franchises
Yeah there hasn’t been a really good horror movie in forever, despite its lack of horror (in mot opinion) it was still a very good movie and I sat down the whole time to watch it (which I barely do lol)

yeh dats his job a film credit but he was askin fo to much cause da movie did sum different we been fightin demons an ghost da first 2 movies but da one time it’s different he complain abt it
My one complaint is we never really learn what the Occultist’s motivation was - what was she trying to accomplish with her demonic deal? This movie would have been really stupid if it weren’t for the acting of the cast, Wilson and Farmiga of course, but also the two who played Arne and Debbie especially.
There was a part of the movie where the kasner mentions her daughter being around his work (on understanding the disciples of the ram). I think she read books and rituals and was fascinated with it until she started performing it and cursing people to please the summoned demon (he also mentions her interest in the tunnels where she built the altar) so I think it came from her interest in witchcraft and demonic rituals In the books her father had kept. Her accomplishment was to give the demon a soul as part of the curse (arnie)
They need to make some motivations and backstory vague enough to warrant a spinoff movie lol (not making fun of it - it’s a genuinely smart move as far as marketing and the franchise lol)
I like to think the Occultist is a descendent of the Duke of St. Carta from the Nun, and she was trying to finish what her ancestor began
@@snakes3425 really good thought!! I never considered that!
My question is how did the occultist chose her victims? Did she personally know the first two victims who are best friends? How did she know about Debbie's family?
It doesn't feel the same without James Wan directing the movies. This movie feels more like a crime movie rather than a horror movie. Edit : I know its based on an actual criminal case from the states, but since this is a case that is based on demonic possession, they should've stick more to the horror elements. Each to their opinions btw. I dont mind.
I loved it for that personally.

I appreciated the "new" twist that was put on to this movie from Loraine's visions to the bits of comedic/light moments. I felt like the movie was straight story and no scare at all, the little demon-witch-curse trinket thing did unnerve me a little but other than that...It wasn't a bad movie don't get me wrong but I was a little disappointed as I feel the conjuring universe movies typically have more scare. If I was putting it in a genre tbh it wouldn't be in horror
it felt like a mystery movie more than a horror. it reminded me of scooby doo but rated r
I think it had less scares since it was more of a curse/cult movie instead of a regular haunting like the first two movies. Still plenty of cases for them to go through for a 4th conjuring.
I wanted to know more about the witch. I feel like they did not explore her part enough
it became a mystery thriller
BRO I FELT THE SAME WAY ITS NOT SCARY AT ALL.
Enjoyed it. Not my favourite, miss Wans touch. Not a bad movie though. Some really nice shots and concepts!
Its supposed to honor the Warren's
Show us on the doll where Wan touched you.
To me it was cool I think they tried to piece in 3 different stories and didn't have time to fully tell it
@@jbtreshawn Yes!
I'm just glad he's still a producer. To some degree he gets to control the storyline of the franchise but yeah I miss him directing movies as well. Though he said himself he doesn't want to be known for just horror films and I like that versatility about him.
01:29 Exactly my views. Heck, I even laughed when the lights dimmed before the last exorcism in the prison began and the Father proceeded to ask, "now?"
The fact I missed the beginning and heard it was the best scene makes me wanna cry
I feel the ending could have been a bit better. The whole movie kinda hyped up this demon, and the end scene was just an old lady fighting, no demon in sight
The demon wasn’t hyped up at all. The Warrens were looking for the witch and even noted the demon was summoned and being controlled. You’re just an idiot, buddy.
@@Thefutureending no need to be rude. I just think the ending could’ve been more climactic considering this witch or whatever was seen like someone really dangerous
Actually, there was meant to be a demon, but the early screeners did not understand the relationship between the demon and the witch
@@parsatirabady4085 It was climactic. The witch was defeated and the demon went back to hell
@@brianm3160 There already was a demon in the film. What you mean is that there were supposed to be scenes of the demon and witch communicating.
I still actually enjoyed this movie, but I think since it had more to do with a curse haunting people instead of a haunting at a location it lost some of the scare factor. Wilson and Farmiga definitely carried this movie with their acting and amazing chemistry. And I think they're setting Judy up for either her own spin-off in the universe or the 4th Conjuring she'll have a more major role to play.
That’s okay. Some people like shit.
maybe people will not receive well, but considering there's a lot of cases to create something based on, I find cool to diversificate the themes, making an alive human witch satanist as villain instead of repeating making her as a ghost or demon is a new step on the franchise.
@@danteinhell2394 That's for sure, it was a nice break from the usual haunted house routine. Definitely a lot of cases for them to pick from for future sequels. Think they did over 140 or so cases.
The description of "a crusty hand" made me laugh more than I should have lol
You’re my favorite Channel man been a background fan for a long time and you’re amazing 10219932/10 content ✨✨✨ keep being spooky
I wish there were scenes like in the second conjuring where Lorraine is in the study with the Valak painting. It’s quiet and eerie, and makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
I honestly can't believe a man I watch on a 6 inch screen in my pocket has been providing me with most of my content consumption all these years. Sometimes it's hard to believe you're not a tiny little man stuck in my phone
My biggest gripe is that the demon didn't actually have a form, he only took on the forms of other things.
that’s more realistic
In literature demons don’t always have true forms
@@tristankramer4636 it's a movie though. And they even said the demon was here in it's own free will. That's why I'll always like Annabelle best.
Well demons IRL dont have forms as well because they have NEVER walked the earth. They are completely inhuman and unearthly. They take forms(demon from Annabelle takes a doll to posses) and illusions.
@@m4rdoo Angels have forms, demons are fallen angels.
Literally this is how the movie should have been Have the entire film focus on the family in the intro, and have the climax be the exorcism that we see the Warrens perform on the kid. The final shot would have been Arne (I rhink that was the guys name) have the demon get passed to him. The credits tell the audience about the murder case. Anyone else feel like it should have been like that???
Feel like the only scary part was the post credits of the actual audio playing
That’s how it was for me. I was having trouble staying up then once the actual audio started I got freaked out
I didn’t jump at anything but there were spots where I felt uneasy. I felt super uneasy when the actual auto was playing
that part where david said "mom, you're dead" and then laughed like crazy was creepy as hell
Yes!!! Spot on
It was eerie I loved that audio section
Conjuring 2 is still my favorite of the series. Conjuring 3 definitely wasn't scary but the story was interesting. This series needs James Wan back behind the lens.
Conjuring 2 sucked
@@corimoon3360lies thats the best one girl stfu
Love to see you cover conjuring 1&2
Legend has it when foundflix was born he said “hey everybody how’s it going”... everyone screamed
They're going to remake "The Haunting in Connecticut" from Ed and Lorraine's POV, Mark my words.
Marked
I would like to see that
@@CuddlyGrizzyBear I mean, provided they bring back both the original writers AND James Wan (somehow)...
I’d watch that
I'd pay to watch that.
The beginning is scary but then towards the end it’s meh but the tapes were creepy overall conjuring 1 and 2 are way way better
I agree. Tbh the main villain/demon was so lackluster. I kind of got bored towards the middle and end.
@@kingjay239 I mean it is based on a true story which to be fair not every real possession/ghost story is amazingly interesting, but it was a bit underwhelming considering the dramatisation and scares of the first two
@@rosiesgf4704 if you really think a demon made someone kill then you are as delusional as the warrens
@@antoniocamargo6580 actually personally I do not believe that arnie was driven to kill by a demon, I believe it was mental illness and honestly just a stupid way to take some of the blame off himself, but you cannot deny that entities, whether you call them ghosts or demons, do exist to some degree. Whether it be your soul or a ghost, there is left over energy that manifests into something, and to believe that we are the only human like beings on earth is, to me, more delusional than believing that there are things other than us living on this earth.
@@rosiesgf4704 to what degree exactly? And why are all these demons always from hundreds of years ago but not demons that from the 2000s or 2010?
Ok bro I had to pause it from laughter. My buddy found flux dude had me dying laughing with the little “ well there you go folks, the day is saved. By the pa pa power of LOVE! ❤️ “ lol dunno why but I found that way too funny
I still remember when seeing the first Conjuring what good of an impression it put on me
I feel like one big thing was Ilsa just wasn't a compelling villain. The other two Conjuring movies gave us backstory and motivation to the villains. Ilsa just wants chaos? Just not very interesting. I feel like paralleling Ilsa with Judy (both raised with demon museums) would have been awesome, what made Ilsa go that route and Judy not? Yeah wasted potential, and I agree, it just doesn't live up to the first two. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farminga *carry* this though, without them, movie would be 10x worse.
They explained why she went to the occult. It was because the Father was so adamant about exposing her to all those terrible things he was trying to fight he peaked her interest more and more each time. So much to the point she sold her soul for it. Its not as compelling as the others but enough for me to understand her motives.
I can’t stand people who think they can just drive a plot of something that didn’t happen. This is a true story, obviously some of the events are doctored up to fit Hollywood’s expectations, but they can’t just throw in a plot that doesn’t happen.
I was actually a bit of a fan of this movie. While it was nowhere near as scary as the first Conjuring, I enjoyed the concept of the main antagonist being a satanist. The thought of a demon being able to just come in and out of someone’s body at will is pretty scary. The movie drags on at some moments and the scares were pretty flat. But some of the scenes, while not scary, were a bit unsettling to me. I just hope that James Wan will eventually come back to the series because it’s clear that we need him
He plans on coming back, he was busy with Spiral so couldn't work on this one.
the next villain will be a 4chan user
@@Cwhirt910 spiral was a nightmare. Terrible film. If that is a representation of his recent film making I hope he stays far away
Its foundflix time. I love it!
7:55 😂😂😂😂😂 Bruno was a sloppy sweaty comic relief lol
It was okay . The film wasn’t that scary but the storyline is pretty good
I just couldn’t bye the whole satan worshiper plot, I can buy demons having magical powers, but it just felt silly to me to have this random lady have straight up magic in a grounded movie. It felt really wild and out of place and took me out of the movie. Like now they have established in this world you can follow a demon and have magic powers, which just seems to out there for me
It was okay at first but didn’t do good towards the end
@@toddbeauchamp6675 the first movie was a witches ghost, and it isn’t the first time that the cult of ram has been mentioned
I miss your hair
agreed
The Conjouring: The director made me do it
