All this time I thought Duke was an actual victorian dude, but learning he was just a normal modern emo who really rolled with the vampire aesthetic is somehow even better

The fact that Duke is reading “Are vampires real?” When he is one is just pure genius
His father was reading one in the last episode. You can notice that it says that it’s the second book as well.
I like Duke's little grin he gives Missi when she goes shadow gremlin mode when he touches the staff while trying to help her up after her less than graceful landing. He's amused rather than annoyed. They really have come a long way from trying to maim and kill each other. Also it's really adorable that she trusts him enough to sleep by his side even though it makes her very vulnerable. Also that possessive little hip grab at the end gave me diabetes. Can't wait to see where the story takes these two.

I love how the Duke's backstory wasnt what everyone expected to be. I also thought he was an old vampire from the 18th century but turns out, he was simply an emo goth in the modern day. I also love how he turned was nothing dramatic like he made a deal with the devil or anything like that, he just stumbled into the wrong place at the "wrong" time. 🤣
not necceserily it could just have been a scene to match the song after all he is not a zombie prostitute like he was in that ep so in my opinion we should wait with assumptions until they show up again.

Honestly this makes the relationship between Duke and Missi make so much more sense somehow. They’re just an emo guy and a Twi-hard who are living out their vampire fantasy lives irl together. Sort of makes me wonder if maybe that’s why Duke took interest in her in the first episode to begin with, because he saw her as a potential kindred spirit.

Everyone else excited for the two of them to grow closer together and develop; I'm just really happy to see that the wounds they inflicted on each other are still there, and consistent across the entire animation. He's still missing his thumb, and she, her eye.
Well, in the 1:50 - 1:53, you see that they're now sleeping together in the same coffin.
@@exselfanwyn408 And the point is? Like, yes. They're very together now. I never said they weren't or anything. But they both very much maimed each-other, so I, personally, was really hype to see the wounds from that fight remained. And remained consistent through the animation.

Fun Fact: based on the time period Duke was turned he would likely be a 12th or 13th generation vampire (according to the Vampire: the masquerade lore) meaning that according to that world's lore he's probably not respected at all within vampire society. the only reason he is, is simply due to how charismatic he is. as we see in the concert scene (which also shows his sire being all grumpy... possibly hinting that the higher ups still don't like him or take him seriously). also possibly the fact he was fabulously wealthy even before the transformation
I think he would be grumpy like a parent sees their child doing stupid stuff and getting rewarded for it. It's like he's thinking "Why did I turned him into vampire?.." Meanwhile the other members of his 'family' like his charismatic and chaotic energy and behaviour

Do vampire sire less as they age? Or are there just fewer left of the older generations? I'm still pretty new to The Masquerade.
@@gornfoo As time passes the earlier generations get more and more out of touch, as well as getting more and more paranoid, so they tend to isolate themselves and only interact with the world through catspaws, mostly their childer. So they don't have the temptation to sire because they're not interacting with humans, and don't understand them anymore the few times when they do. It does still happen but it's pretty rare. And because a higher generation can get more powerful by devouring a lower generation, those that do get sired by an early generation tend to keep it to themselves and pretend to be a higher generation then they are, especially when they're young and not powerful enough or connected enough to protect themselves. There was only one of the first generation: Cain; Only three of the second generation, all of whom are dead; only thirteen of the third generation (the founders of the clans) of which at least three are definitely dead and the rest are sleeping or in extreme isolation; fourth and fifth generations are the puppet-masters of the vampire world and tend not to leave their strongholds. So sixth gen is about as low as you're likely to encounter in the modern era and even that would be rare. By the rules of the game the earliest you can play is an eighth generation, and you're going to pay for the privilege.
@@gornfoo It’s less that and more “the higher the generation, the weaker the vampire”, in VtM, all vampires are descended from the biblical Cain. Then they go further into different generations. As the generations go higher, the blood is more and more diluted. When a vampire is around 13th to 14th generations removed from Cain, they can’t sire a full-blooded vampire due to lack of potency

It's nice how this reflects Voltaire's actual history. He grew up in New Jersey, and ran away to New York at seventeen after years of abuse.
Yep. I remember when he performed Raised By Bats at a con I went to the year before the album dropped. He told us how it reflected the really rough life he lived when he was a kid and that he ran away from home when he was 17 to find something better. At one point, between the abuse and his girlfriend committing suicide, he almost committed suicide himself. I'm glad he was able to make it through those dark days and find a better life where he created things people love.

If you look at the scene with the two of them in the same coffin, there's an awful lot of empty bottles on the floor by Missy's side. I like the idea that she just go so drunk that she gets into the wrong coffin without realising. Missy: 'You get out, out of of . . . my bed! I hate you, you're so mean.' Duke: 'It's my coffin. While we're at it, it's my house too!' Missy: 'Ha! Not anymore s'not, s'mine now. You get out of my bed!' Duke: (Sigh) How much have you drunk?' Missy: 'Am not . . . drunk . . . I've had so much, but it's not aff'cted me a bit' Duke: 'Really, look at the clock and tell me what time it is?' Missy: (Squints at the clock) 'Saturday!' Duke: 'Is that the best you can do?' Missy 'There are some number's but they could be anything.' Duke: 'So, it you want me to leave I will.' Missy: (Snuggles against him and uses him like a pillow) 'No, you're comfy. . . stay . . . I still think you're mean . . . (falls a sleep) Duke: (Wraps his cloak over the pair of them) 'Likewise'.
Duke’s sire being 110% done with his shit is hilarious. Though learning duke is so ‘young’ is definitely a surprise. Their actions through the series made me assume they had at least a century or two on them for their human lifespan to degrade and seem less morally relevant
Considering they're now in an actual relationship, a fact I thoroughly welcome into continuity.
I don't mean to start anything here But I'm not more confused about their age gap between each other. But hey they're both vamps, so I ain't complaining 🤷
@@missswiss6498 Yeah, I agree. They're vampires, so given enough time it will seem irrelevant. But if duke was a teenager when metal was both around and not mainstream, he's likely somewhere between 70 and 40. (loosely speaking). and that means he could be Missi's dad rather than just some ancient being who no longer sees reason to care about age. Also, this raises questions about the staff. Cus that wasnt how he became a vamp, but it made missi a vamp, and its clearly tied to his lair, but its not his sire's, and im wondering how he got such a potent artifact
@@urieldaluz250 It was pretty clear cane wasn't source of his vampirism to begin with. When Missy tosses away cane in Silent, she turns back into human. Duke stays vampire regardless.
@@wintermute25 But interestingly, Duke briefly takes the cane in The Showdown, and Missi remains a vampire. So I wonder if the cane is a source of her being a vampire but she doesn't go back to being human unless she "breaks the hold" it has over her, as in Silence. Additionally, I don't think that Duke bit Missi yet. This video doesn't show her having bitemarks on either side of her neck.
I love how Missi and Duke are wearing each other's colors and patterns--Duke wearing purple with a mesh sash around his top hat, and Missi wearing red with a classical floral pattern on her dress. Seems like they're more of a couple now for sure. Also I need more emo teen Duke in my life. Emo man runs away bc he's different, finds bloodthirsty vampires that vibe with everything he loves, and fully embraces the vampire life because FINALLY, somewhere others are like him! Except one particular vampire seems miffed at how much Duke is enjoying himself and stealing his thunder..
I'm not sure its about stealing the thunder. Vampires usually stick to some form of stealth and masquarade. But Duke is so blatant, that he probably breaks several rules which makes regular vamps exasperated by his carelessness.
Could be. Either way Duke is definitely causing a stir--the vampire who's sulking as he sings is the same one who turned him if you watch closely. And in both scenes, it's clear he VERY MUCH does not like Duke. Methinks he may be a new recurring character

@@itakru yea the blond dude is definitely Duke’s maker or sire. So it makes sense how he doesn’t understand why new gen like Duke isn’t ashamed or stealthy about his vampy status (old gen vs new). I also think he is like that reluctant parent to Duke and making sure he isn’t found out. Hell, Duke makes his own modern vamp clothes! I bet his master is just like “Why are you dressed like that/why are you like this?”

I love how Missi is still territorial over the scepter, but is completely chill with whatever else Duke does.
At 0:51, there is an amazing bit of lore that I'm not sure if anyone else has picked up on yet. On Duke's wall, we see a detention notice which has Duke's name and someone named Brahm Dumarias. And behind that note is another that says, "Dude, I'm proud of you. - Brahm". Near that is a picture of Duke with the guy who was bullying him, which must presumably be Brahm. Dumarias is important because Missi's real name is Melissa Dumarias (as seen in Episode 4). I think Duke might've been friends or dating Missi's brother or father when he was younger. The two likely had a falling out when Brahm became religious (he's wearing a cross). It makes me think that Missi's arrival at the castle in Episode 1 might not be a random encounter.
Also the events seem to be taking place around or after Nov. 1991, as the Playboy magazine in Duke's room is the Nov. 1991 issue.
Brahm and Missi have the same hair color.

Also, at 1:04 you can see that the vampires are looking at various threats: what looks like a vampire hunter (that's seemingly been crossed off) and a werewolf, but also THE SCEPTER. It's interesting that not only did Duke find it he but he also KEPT it.
I actually went back to watch the previous one on episode 4 and the time you would see that detail is 3:14 . Just want to say that you have quick eyes to see that little bit of information.
Not only was this a great way to explain Duke's backstory, it's also a great way to show how his and Missi's relationship has improved.
Missi is still protective of that staff though.

This really adds a whole new light to Missi and Duke’s relationship! They were basically the same, kindred spirits who felt like outcasts in society. Now they’re living their aristocratic vampire fantasy together. It’s nice to see them together and happy.
Now I need to see what they'd look like together as humans 😲
Not to mention Duke's old "friend" might be Missi's dad/relatively (same last name) implying that her family wronged him and it's not accident that the two met and have smoothed things over now.

Couple things i noticed, their obviously wearing each others colors but additionally missi has her little hat and Dukes hat has the fishnet detail we see in missis usual outfit and i think thats adorable, secondly the parallel of him standing on the ledge alone and then at the end standing there with Missi and his little possesive move of pulling her closer and her not doing anything about it is so great
Duke and Missi seems to now be getting along more as time goes on. As Duke has even given Missi the key he always kept close to his chest ever since he was a kid. But it seems like Missi still doesn't fully trust him yet as she is still afraid that the Duke would take that staff away from her. They are getting along better but it seems like they still have a long way to go.
What's interesting is my husband pointed out a fun bit with the bat forms. He looks back at her to make sure she's okay at one point, because if she drops the staff while flying........ Well. She sure would fall out of the sky.
I think part of it is partly that Duke knows the staff influences the user (as shown when Missi was freaking out and seeing things in earlier episodes). He also knows that, at least for now, she could go be freed from it if she just let go. In my headcannon, to some degree, he does think she is "cursed". That, as he doesn't know she tossed the staff once and came back of her own, some part of him thinks his time with her is at HER expense. He didn't really care when they were fighting, but, now that they are a couple, he feels bad. When he accidentally grabbed the staff, others saw a smirk. To me, seemed a bit more like a forced smile... like he DID briefly want to take it away, but he couldn't for fear he would be alone. And Missi knows this, but doesn't think she can convince him to the truth (she's "just being controlled" after all). As the song said: For better or worse, to not be alone, "I'm stuck with you".
@@Drake1Storm I disagree, I think he was more amused that she freaked out over the staff. Duke's not suddenly gonna stop being a selfish bastard, even if they do have a weird care for each other. She's clearly not gonna leave, she took the staff back and has time enough for them to create a whole new wardrobe in which she could ditch said staff.
Ok some things which others in the comments have probably already pointed out. 1. Duke can't be that old of a vampire based of the aesthetic when he was human. 2. Duke and Missi are wearing each other's colours. 3. Missi HAS DUKE'S KEY 4. The vampires Duke stumbles upon appear to be looking for said key 5. Duke is Duke's real first name 6. Duke and the ringleader of the group who was threatening him through the window seem to have once been friends 7. Duke appears to have been involved in designing clothes before his runaway. 8. The two of them actually have to go to town normally. 9. Vampires in this universe can actually turn into bats. 10. Duke and Missi seem to have continued their actually getting along with each other from the end of Stuck With You.
The Relationship between Duke and Missi is so cute
The leader of the group that seems to have once been Duke's friend is wearing a cross, I wonder if that's linked to him turning on Duke? I think the vampires Duke stumbled upon were actually looking for Duke's staff, the one Missi stole from him in the first episode. Also, the vampire who turned Duke is the same blond vampire who facepalms during Duke's concert later.

@@Drengade I saw, I think that's the staff, the key has a more complex design and the drawing doesn't seem to have the key's notches/teeth bit that goes in the lock, though going by the proportions it could be either the key without the details or only the top part of the staff.

Wow. To be honest, I'm shocked that Duke was a simple guy who was fond of rock (?) and gothic. Before this series, I thought that he was turned into a vampire somewhere in the 16-18 century and was an earl or duke, but the fact that Duke was a simple guy surprised me a lot, and even pleasantly surprised. This surprise was also due to the fact that Duke has a rather aristocratic manner and the fact that he lives in an old castle. Summing up, I am very pleasantly surprised and look forward to continuing. Excellent work, story and animation as always at the highest level.

Daria's said before in streams his name actually was Duke, and he became "the Duke" after turning, but yeah had also thought he was way older!
I wanna learn more about Duke's friend Brahm. Whom he apparently had a picture of and went to detention with. What's interesting is that it seems Duke isn't an "Ancient" vampire like we might have thought. He's fairly modern, as his childhood and teenage years show that he likely grew up in the 80's-90's and was probably turned in his early 20's, even the people he comes across are all wearing modern day attire. Another thing to note is that when he came across the vampires that turned him, they had a chart about priority targets. One of them was the staff that Missi now owns, which apparently was missing at some point.
Also did you notice that Brahm has the same last name as Missi! At 0:52 you can see “Dumarias”!!! I just checked this video again and I noticed that!!

So Duke wasn't an ancient vampire, he just dresses like that because he's a edgy fashion major? And that he was thrilled to have found and be turned into a vampire (it wasn't because of the cane like Missi!)? He got another cane that's is so cute? Their bat forms? I'm in love with this episode, honestly Also, of course, we have the background tidbits amoung the fantastic animation! It seems like he was friends with the jock we see in the middle (I think that note near the picture was written by him as well). I wonder what happended to them.

By the looks of it, Brahm (I'm assuming that's his name from the notes on young Duke's wall) got into sports and was quickly accepted by the jocks. But their acceptance of him was partially dependent on him not associating with the weird goth kid. So he distanced himself, soon learning that being mean to him earned more approval from the popular kids.
But I have a question, before he was a normal person how did he become the duke if he was any human, that is he was not born a vampire he was not born in an important house like he did to become the duke
It's good to see that the relationship is no longer the most hostile thing in their life. It's also good to see that Duke was once human.
Looks like Missi and Duke are getting along well like to the point the end where they landed on the roof after their trasnformed back to their human form. Duke looks like he's not having a problem with Missi having the cane and only smiles because of her reaction to it and is chill with the moment, with how he pulls her in gently by the hip to get closer and she doesn't complain.

Forgot to mention in my first comment - I am obsessed with the revelation that Duke is not in fact hundreds of years old, but just really goth and as soon as he became a vampire was immediately like "hell yeah I'm going to dress like Dracula"
Can I just say that I love the colour story between Missi and Duke!! The way their costumes literally reflect eachother by them wearing the others signature colour. Just chiefs kiss! ❤️💜🦇
This raises a lot of questions. I mean from this it seems Duke was turned to a vampire like any normal vampire, yet he has this very powerful staff that gives Missy vampire powers, a shadow monster, and drives her insane. Duke seems to have been turned no earlier than the late 20th century. Where did he get the staff? If he was turned into a vampire normally, why did he need the staff? Is his dad literally just Voltaire? If the castle truly belongs to Duke why did Missy break into someone's home just to read twilight (a question from episode one yes, but one still deserving of an answer).
the castle, it likely say no one live there no more and as for the staff likely some powerful spell on it or that him kill the other vimpare who bite him and trap there soul or there blood into this staff and i was think late 1980 or late 1990

Something I noticed: Duke seemingly hasn't turned Missi since she still clings to the staff like she still needs it to stay a vampire
Well, as far as I know, when vampire turns someone, they have certain power over them, like they can compel them to do things and such. Missy would probably rather poke her other eye then that. For a record, this is highly depending on vampire lore of medium, I go by Dracula and Hellsing (anime) vampires. But other vampire media sometimes have some semblance of this.
@@Karak-_- Fair point, which actually brings up another question: why hasn't Missi's eye regenerated? She's been a vampire for quite a while and they're known to have decent healing abilities. Makes me kinda wonder if she's actually not a full vampire thanks to her reliance on the staff...

I remember stumbling upon "The Night" when I was 10 and it was one of the very first things introducing me to animation and its really cool to see how much its progressed over the years
Missi and Duke’s color swap is such a fun change! I love that Missi’s outfit feels more formal now while dukes feel a little more casual, which makes sense as it’s the opposite of how they were in season one, where it was missi sort of finding herself as a vampire and duke being along more for the ride, and now Duke’s leading.
Missi looking good in both i can't pick witch i like more. duke i do prefer his 1st look. but i also missed it it for the few sec''s so it suit him very well too.
Not only do their colors switch, their accessories also switch. Missi is now wearing the key that Duke used to wear, and he's wearing the lace Missi used to have on her dress as an accent on his hat

2:41 I like the touch that Duke, an actual vampire, turns into a straight up out of Bran Stokers Dracula giant bat creature, while Missy, who has the cursed staff, turns into a tiny bat
Based on his size, the shape of his snout and the fur 'collar' he apparently transforms into a fruit bat while Missy transforms into a long-eared bat.
1:04 if you look at the background, you can see that the day (night?) where Duke was turned into a vampire, the cane was missing and the vampires were actively searching for it. I now supposed that, when we've got another episode on Duke's backstory, or even the cane's backstory why not, we'll learned that Duke gained the respect of other vampires for finding the cane. Also, the blond vampire who bite Duke is the same that is saw annoyed by him making a concert in a church. I think he will be important too.

So what you're telling me is; Duke- Emo teen that ran away and got turned into a vampire. Missi- Twilight Nerd that went into a spooky (I guess she assumed abandoned) mansion to read and got turned into a vampire. These two outcasts were made for each other.
The same boy that was outside is in a picture with Duke, and Duke has a note that says detention with a certain "Brahm Dumarias" and a note signed by the same "Brahm". I have a theory: Duke went to a catholic school, he was bullied for his fashion sense, being into fashion, sewing and being weird according to society's standards. One day, while in detention he met Brahm and became friends with him, but eventually Brahm became a popular jock and joined the other jocks in bullying Duke. Also, I think Brahm is Missy's father or somehow related to her since they share the same last name, "Dumarias". Also, I think the vampires that turned him into a bat were looking for the staff back then.

Considering the implied homophobia/ toxic masculinity displayed by Brahm, it could be inferred that they might have been partners before Brahm became a closeted dick. If this and his connection to Missi is true then it means that Duke hooked up with a father and his two daughters (if Vanessa is Missi's sisters).

The more we learn about these beautiful characters I feel as an audience we learn more about the beautiful character of their creator.
I absolutely LOVE the way Duke's smile fell a little in the title card when he states his dislike of people. Despite it being true Duke still craves the connection of like-minded individuals which is in my opinion a nice detail that flashes out his character for that moment. Also love how by the end of this episode when Missy is coming down to fast on her landing Duke holds onto her cane to slow her down but Shadow Missy swiftly snatches it away. I am a big fan of small details like that. I am stoked for what the story holds in the future. I hope Missy will get her moment to shine as a human as well, since her cane transforms her into a vampire-like-entity (she's not bitten as far as I know(?)) when held as well as some new (and hopefully old) background characters!
I'm almost waiting for Duke to get ahold of the cane from missy. Is only to throw it back to her. Each episode seems like he wants it back less and less and is actually started to enjoy her companionship more. What good is forever when you have No one to share it with.

I love how MIssi seems to be accepting both sides of herself now, the sadistic vampire side and the more chill book loving side. And its cool how Duke is also trying to learn her interest with the reading. The ending where Missi pulls the staff away also shows how as close as they are there is still some tension, I'm thinking a new threat will probably hurt Missi and Duke has a chance to just take the staff but refuses to and returns it to Missi or something along those lines. CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE (Missi's new vibe also makes me very gay)

I adore Duke and Missi's bat forms. Him being this lanky, long-faced flying fox, and her being the tiniest of floof-ball bats, barely big enough to carry the sceptre...absolutely precious. And they both looked so happy about just flapping through the night together! Maybe they're finding at least a little common ground. (Also, I am a dreadful nerd, because Missi's tiny bat form toting around that comparably huge sceptre just made me think of Pigwidgeon trying to cart around mail for Ron Weasley. So tiny, so determined...)

I'll admit that there's a lot of cute moments, but at the same time I can't help but feel that there's some unresolved...tension between them, judging by how protective Missi is of her staff. Not to mention, how Duke seems to have regrown his missing digit, but Missi still seems to be down an eye. A trick of animation? Or a difference in their regeneration?
Gotta love their new outfits and how they switched colours, but I especially love that Duke got himself another staff (even if a powerless one) while Missi can keep hers and be a vampire, and also how she's the one with the key now, which is rather curious to think about 1:50 This one bit instantly reminded me of the "Sugar in my Coffin" speedpaint, I really like that one!

I like how the damage from Showdown was permanent with Missi missing an eye and Duke missing his thumb.
I love the Duke and Missi's color swap, Missi now has a little hat and Duke's brooch axe thing. Duke now has laise on his hat and a new chain to replace the one Missi took. I really show how much they expected each other as partners.
I like the detail at the end when Duke grabbed Missi's scepter to help her up and she got insanely possessive of it like some sort of greedy maternal instinct. Beautiful.
Showing Missy, being smaller in bat form, struggling to carry her cane while flying was a cute little detail.

I didn’t realize how nice it is to see Duke and Missi sort of getting along for once. Good for them.
Here’s my essay breaking down some of the lore of this episode :) Artemis: Yes! It’s Artemis Seraphvie! He has appeared first Threnody’s part 7. Artemis is definitely very crucial to the tying of both series and is majorly important now that we know he has turned Duke. (Nearly) every Threnody character has an anagram out of their name and Artemis’s is literally “The Vampair Series” I know he’s just going to be super important in Duke’s backstory and I CANNOT wait to see more. We also see a child Artemis with Thorem and Hafter in a portrait behind Duke in the very beginning of the animation. Missi’s father: ALRIGHT SO WE KNOW WHO MISSI’S FATHER IS. Brahm Dumarias who’s handwriting is seen in a note on Duke’s wall, his name on a detention list with Duke’s on said wall, and also the picture of him and Duke right there. Later we see Brahm bully Duke with the other bullies (and in this shot we see Missi’s backpack on her father) ALSO in relation Duke recognizes Missi’s last name from her missing poster and THAT’S why he smirks in recognition! He got with he ex best friend’s daughter(s) haha sucks to suck Brahm Duke’s father: BOY HOWDY AM I EXCITED FOR THIS ONE. SO behind Artemis the vampires are having a meeting and we see what looks to be Duke’s dad with an axe. I have some other evidence that it’s not just coincidence. Duke’s dad is a vampire hunter. 1. The axe is made out of silver. 2. Duke seems to live in the same castle as before so I wanna say that his father took it from Artemis in a fight or something like that. 3. Duke KNOWS how to use an axe and the axe in the showdown is eerily similar (not the same because the vampire hunter’s axe is double sided but still) 4. Why would there be a silver axe in a vampire’s residence to begin with unless there was a reason? His father it all matches up too well to be coincidental. In conclusion Duke’s father is a Vampire Hunter and quite a threat at that to be ranked C among their biggest threats. Werewolves: Priority B is a werewolf not much to say here but my eyes are PEELED hehe The Anger Cane: last but not at all the least. The Anger Cane. *Priority A* in the vampire’s meeting is finding the Anger Cane. Most of you know I’ve been saying this from the beginning that I’ve theorized that they are the same but it is theory no more because the picture of the cane (Duke’s future cane) is 1 for 1 the same shape as the cane from Threnody. We’ve known that they’re in the same universe for some time now but there is no doubt that the canes are the same with this irrefutable proof. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk lmao

The best part is now Duke has his own cane yet Missi is still very protective of hers, cute little additions like this make these animations great

I think the blonde vampire who turned Duke into one of his kind is actually Artemis Grinvoe from Mina Rose's Threnody, who appears in Threnody Part 7. They share the same hairstyle, facial features and overall demeanor, it's just the attire that's different. (Although it could just be an attire change based on time passing by.) Also, to those of you who just follow Vampair and not Threnody: I highly recommend that you check it out. It's basically a spin-off/prequel to the Vampair series and has a pretty interesting storyline, and expands upon the Vampair lore while also expanding upon its own lore.
I find it interesting with this dynamic between Missy and Duke now. Like forgetting the obvious, notice how she's wearing Duke's key around her neck like he always which says alot about their relationship now. Just as much as it says about Missy when she falls from the sky and Duke helps her up and instinctively she still snatches away the bat cane even though he meant no ill will. I wonder though if Missy will ever get her eye back, only because it seems much like Duke has fully healed

watching this after the recent episode I notice three things of interest. 1-It was Artemis himself who turned Duke 2-despite the way S2E4 ends, it seems duke is still on at least some good terms with Artemis's group. 3-we see that a bite is all it takes to turn someone into a vampire. No bloody baptism like in stoker's novel needed. So It's likely that that guy Duke beat up is going to turn into a vampire himself. Given how good Daria is about setting stuff up ahead of time I wonder if we'll see him again.
