Also, Morrison never had a good trainer. He worked with bums. With somebody like Emmanuel of Kronk fame, he could have been so much better. Emmanuel did wonders with a great fighter that had a glass chin, in Wladimir Klitschko. Emmanuel could have done the same with Morrison. Or if not him, somebody else that knew what they were doing, not some chumps off the streets. Morrison was just a sad case of the wastes like Gerry Cooney. Waste of talent. No heart. Marciano had plenty of heart, but not much talent and his work ethic was incredible. These guys could have been great, too.
Marciano was great. Is great and will always be great. Morrison had HIV when he turned pro. He hid it. This was his biggest problem being a immune deficiency disease
True he could work wonders with fighters. Wladamir didn't have a glass chin though. He had major cardio issues early in his career.
And Marciano had Charlie Goodman, without who, Rocky would have never risen beyond club level.

@@user-qs9jl1bl2u no, he knocked them out with his fists, his unparalleled conditioning. Heart alone can't win a fight. Goodman took what Marciano had and made it championship level. My comment is not to denigrate Marciano, far from it, but he needed Goodman to reach his full potential. Was that not the point of your first comment, the importance of a great trainer?

Man, Tommy was green as hell in this fight. According to Wikipedia he had over 200 amateur bouts before turning pro...no sign of that experience here?

@@williamanderson6006 I've watched fights all my life - that doesn't make me an expert, but it does mean I can tell the difference between this version of Morrison and how he fought in his prime. Prime Morrison was fitter, sharper, moved better...he improved a lot after this fight.
Sad that this young man never accepted Christ as Foreman did and had a mentor like Cus D'mato. Probably spelled it wrong. Had his spiritual strength matched his mental tenacity and physical capacity his dominance would have lasted longer than Marciano's. Instead, he is a model for the verse from Roman 6:23 " For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Godspeed patriots.
How do you know Morrison didnt accept Christ?
We have no way of knowing Tommy's heart. He suffered a lot before he died and there was time for him to embrace the Lord. We can only pray that he did. I love your concern though.
