As a dog mom of a husky\shepard i can confirm. My dog is also a unicorn. Even sits for blow dry and no leash needed! Was a shelter rescue imagine my shock the first bath went....very well with not one bark.

As a former groomer, the once in a blue moon that you do get a calm husky, it never fails to weird you out
Groomer: "Your husky is broken." Owner: "What do you mean?" Groomer: "She was a perfect angel for the process. No singing, no throwing paws; she even let me brush her tail out with no issues. She's broken."

I didn't expect her to not join the opera
My neighbor has a 2 year old husky that has never been brushed, bathed or groomed before. It is consistently 100 degrees here and he lives fully outside. We have called animal control and they didn’t do anything. Also called animal control on someone else who had three dogs chained to a tree with no food, water or shelter in the middle of winter. Two of the dogs died and they just replaced them the same week. Animal control knows and does nothing.
@@streamlily5971 That's heart breaking. I would be tempted to just steal them but I imagine someone would then get you in trouble for that :/ Poor animals. They don't deserve that. Do you bring them food, drink and blankets or anything or do the owners get funny/not leave access for you to get to them?

My family adopted a rescue husky when I was really young. She never barked or screamed, she was actually the chillest and quietest dog I've ever met. She hated baths but didn't fight it. She was such a calm peaceful girl R.I.P Kayla you were the best

Mine was the same way… through grooming, knocks at the door, he was the laziest dog I’ve ever met. I’m pretty sure he was a mastiff hiding in a husky body.
My husky keeps barking till he sleeps it takes around 15 minutes for him to fall asleep 💤

Calm huskies are like unicorns. Once in a while you meet one and it's magical. My sister's first husky was completely bonkers, but her second one is a sweet, calm, angel, like Luna.
She must have been so nicely raised then! Love to see a dog with such a controlled and calm reaction to a new experience. You can see she had some moments of discomfort but it really looks like she was calming herself down most of the time. I'm sure her caretakers took good care to encourage this calm and collected behaviour and discourage reactivity. Not just that, I also salute her for her common sense and good evaluation!

It's un-satasfying to me because the fur is not coming out. It just gets most of the way out then hangs there.

Ha. My German/Aussie/Lab mix is named Luna and she's a little high energy. Although she is still technically a pup at 2.5 years. She does baths very well and very quiet.

Huskies/Malamutes often lick a few times when their paws are being handled, as a polite reminder that they, too, have feelings and want you to pay attention to that. My personal experience (living with a pet malamute) is that they then start shoving their entire head in between you and the paws, make very distressed noises, and occasionally fall over in their efforts to pull away from you without hurting you. I'm shocked every time I see any kind of dog consenting to a nail clipping or having their toes spread for a hair trim there. Then again, our malamute never gave anyone the kind of trouble that I see from sled dogs on KZhead. He treated grooming as a form of playtime, and it mainly took 2 hours because he kept trying to drink from the hose, romp around, or use the brushes as tug-of-war toys. So maybe ours was abnormal...

@Daniella - When the thumbnail popped up in my recommendations I looked at it and thought to myself this sounds nuts but that dog reminds me of someone, then it hit me, looking at Luna from our point of view her left eye is blue and her right eye brown, exactly the same colours and configuration as David Bowie. I know Luna is a female but if I owned her I couldn't have helped myself, I would have had to call her Ziggy!

@Gardening with Ziggy - I was initially going to say great minds obviously think alike and I'm sure that's true in your case but as for me I have about 3 functioning brain cells and one of those is on the blink! I think it's probably more a case of fans of great music think alike! Btw thank you for saving a little soul from the shelter, we have a rescue dog too, the fact you name your KZhead channel after your little buddy shows you clearly think the world of Ziggy. I love those eyes. I had a Dalmatian with blue and brown and she was the most beautiful thing ever. Dalmatians are rare with blue. The one in the litter with all blue was blind and our family couldn't take her so we picked the next best thing. One of each!

That was interesting and entertaining. Luna seems to be loving the whole process, once she gets past the first stage of accepting it won't hurt her. You obviously have a very professional process, but I'm surprised that huskies don't usually respond that well to it. It's like going to the doggy day spa, what a treat. I was amazed at how much undercoat comes off in the different stages of the process.

Just gave our husky, Luna, a bath. Was so much easier to do after wearing her out at a car show today. She didn’t even sing us the song of her people.

Our Husky looks like Luna except black & white, same eyes though. He is VERY chill. I actually have to beg him to sing the song of his people, but when he gets going it’s hard to stop - and I ❤ it so much!
