Security Force Assistance Brigades Premieres 5 April: • Security Force Assista...
Since being stood-up in 2017, Security Force Assistance Brigades (SFABs) have provided the U.S. Army with unique capabilities and immense flexibility. In this interview-driven film, we examine the SFAB mission, hear what life is like as an advisor, and explore the challenges SFABs will face in the future. The film features Major General Donn H. Hill, the Commanding General at Security Force Assistance Command (SFAC), as well as Lieutenant General (Ret.) Michael Lundy and other leaders from SFAC and the SFABs. Among other topics, these leaders discuss how SFABs strengthen our allies and partner forces while supporting U.S. security objectives.

  • as long as you are doing what is going to work in the long term, which is usually the direct opposite of what the state dept. wants to promote. Really this is a SF job unless they don't have the numbers for that mission anymore ?

  • I remember when the Army was so desperate to get volunteers for the Turd Berets they were basically press ganging "volunteers" to attend "selection course." Anyway the first SFAB clearly did a good job training Afghanistan's security forces so it was all worth it.

    • Ah yes, blame the final 365 days of a 20+ year conflict on the SFAB. I mean, it couldn’t possibly have been the fault of the entire DoD and its allies who literally retarded the ANSF by spoon feeding them everything for the first 19 years…..

  • Uhm…. Maybe I’m REALLY old school…. But isn’t that what Special Forces did? I mean… granted… they had a few different roles… but I thought they do this exact thing?

    • Looks like G5 with teeth, or at least a well-populated G5. SF is more something that G2 loves, with the addition of kinetics. Make sense?
