  • I purchased a 1966 Chevelle from Volo in January, it was advertised as a Body off Frame RESTORATION. The car wouldn't start when it was trying to be driven off the trailer, once fired up and off of the trailer I got in the passenger seat and told the delivery guy to go ahead and drive it around the block to see if it just needed to be warmed up. It kept shutting off till we got back to the house so I told him to go ahead and just pull it directly into the garage. When we got out, I noticed that the trunk lock was missing. I got in my other car and drove around the block and found the trunk lock laying in the road, so I got out, picked it up and drove back to my house. The delivery guy was about packed up and then shortly after he drove off. There was NO paperwork with the car that was supposed to be delivered with it. I started checking to see why the car wouldn't run... Vacuum advance hose disconnected from the distributor. I reconnected it to the distributor and then disconnected the other end of the hose and reconnected it to its PROPER port on the Carb. I then noticed that the PCV hose from the valve cover was not connected to its proper location either so I reconnected it. I now tried and the car fired up and ran. The engine that was said to be rebuild isn't properly cammed for the engine. Inside the car (4 speed car) I noticed WTF there's no parking brake pedal and release assembly. I got out and looked under the car and there are NO parking brake cables except for the cables hanging out from the rear brake drums. I drove the vehicle around the block a couple of times to warm it up and then back to the garage. I now checked and found that the heater didn't work, under the hood I saw the heater hose was kinked and not allowing coolant to flow but upon feeling the other hoses with my hands i found that the thermostat was not opening either. I decided to check the car over a bit more. Grey non-GM seatbelts for the front seats and they were improperly mounted to the seat mount rails. I then noticed that the driver’s side seat was mounted on passenger side seat rails which places the seat adjuster between the seat and the shifter console. The shifter boot is torn in half. The heater controls are not functional and the blower doesn't work. There is body damage on both doors because of misalignment of both fenders and doors. There was spot paint on the lower corners of both doors, to cover up the body damage. Rust is on both doors where the cracks in the doors and the cracked paint is peeling off. Dry rotted body to frame mounts and door weather stripping. I find it personally difficult to properly adjust a fender that's NOT even bolted to the frame... (see the video) and yes, I have many, many pictures of all the BS that's wrong with this restored car... And the appraisal that people are charged for when purchasing a car from Volo is nothing more than an inhouse, Volo created checklist that's complete BS when it comes to a proper appraisal, it’s filled out by none other than Jay Grams... I bought this car so that I could have fun driving a completed car without having to do a load of work on it in order to drive it, it's STILL in the garage until it can be safely driven which might be after I replace the broken exhaust manifold!!!!! All of this can be yours too for only $63K, which is what I paid for this train wreck. I could go on and on but my fingers just got tired and I need more coffee...

    • I'm disappointed for you, but I'm glad you explained it because I've been thinking about getting a Corvette, which is 53000, and they're telling me they want to send it to me. Supposedly, it's in Montana. I live in Wyoming and that I would drive up to get it, and they said no, they had to send it. I won't do that, especially after hearing what you're going through. thanks for sharing

    • Sight unseen i guess , need an expection before you buy Too bad that was a good amount of things it needed . Your telling me it didn't stall before they got it on the truck ? They would obviously be lying too you.yeah it was restored .... about 30 years ago.....😢

    • Think how spending $180 to $300 for an inspection would have saved you $63,000. When buying any classic vehicle, you must spend for an inspection, or it's buyer beware. Sorry you are having troubles. Hope things improve soon.

    • @@mountainskys BUT that’s no excuse for them saying and writing in the video and online description that the car was a body off frame restoration while knowing damn well that it wasn’t…I’m pretty sure that’s called fraud…

    • @@PaulCourville I'm not disagreeing with you. I've had my share of dealership nightmares. I learned that with a classic car in particular, you gotta pay for that inspection report before you buy. My lesson was learned when buying a 'restored' 1968 Firebird 400 back in 1989. Was a great car... after I rebuilt the engine, transmission, rear end and solved an electrical issue.😐 I just see all dealerships (classic car or not) generally are the same. You hope you get a reputable dealer and more importantly, salesperson that truly cares about the customer more than the deal. But advertising it's a frame off resto if it is not, you likely have legal recourse. Maybe do what they call "unwind the deal". Car is returned and all money is returned to you. It's as if the deal was never done. Dealerships don't like to do that except in serious circumstances (getting sued).

  • I hope that blue Charger is either a hemi or a 440 6bbl car cause if it's not one of those 2 possibilities then it is WAY overpriced. Even for an SE option.

  • I’ve always thought this place was just a little to “slick”, a bit “too good to be true”, that said, If you’re paying big bucks for a vehicle you can not see and experience in person, either get an independent 3rd party expert PPI or don’t do it…

    • @@vettematt Not true, your prices would reflect that of a respectful dealership who treated customers with respect. From a retired dealer to a scumbag, keep it up, and you'll go belly up. Stick to being a museum, you're no dealer. Trust me, I could buy your entire lot. I could also sell it back to you at a mark-up. I'm so good, I would even convince you that you got the deal.

  • They are crooks who sell painted junk for outrageous prices. You don't sell a a muscle car at 75k. You can if it has a Hemi, 454, 428 scj, or a 71 GSX stage-1. Nothing else is justified. They can run their business how they choose, and we can choose better muscle car dealers. Iowa has a few good ones in Des Moines. Bonner Springs KS has a great one as well. Volo are con artists.
