    • Thank you for watching! Just took our first trip in it and the tent did well in the rain and snow.

  • Hi Bob and Teena! Excellent review, thank you! Waiting for your trip with the tent and the stove to test them in action )) A note about thickness of the wall, roof, floor fabrics. They are sturdy enough. The thicker materials would significantly enlarge weight of the tent and its package size. Besides, it would be much more complicated to pack it. So there is a compromise between durability of the materials, which is good enough, and general usability of the tent. Again, great review. Thank you!

    • Thank you for stopping by and explaining. We figured that with the tent walls and how much the overall thickness of them would impact such things as the overall weight and mobility of the tent.

  • Great overview. Just received and set up my Koala 7 today. When I spoke with someone from RBM on the phone the other day, they seemed to imply that you can use the rain cover with the stove pipe still on. I’m not sure how that would look/ work. Too bad there is not a stove jack in the rain fly. But otherwise awesome tent. Agree with your impressions.

    • After our first couple of trips and we see how the tent performs, we figure we may come up with something (make a rain fly with a stove jack somehow) if needed. So far it’s just what we thought it would be now time to see how well it performs in the rain and colder temperatures.

  • Thank you for making this video. Was on the fence about purchasing till this video. The RBM website doesn't describe all the features of this tent as well as your video. They should link this video on their website! I'm a little worried about the weight of the tent. Can one average sized person handle by themselves? Does the electric pump run on batteries or plug in? Does the electric pump help deflate the tent to assist in packing up? What is the material that protects the tent from the stove? Does it look up to the task? Does the tent come with a patch kit in case the tubes spring a leak? Guessing it would be similar to a bike innertube repair? Looking forward to more videos, happy camping!

    • Very good questions (and concerns). I can handle the tent by myself although it is quite heavy (I either drag it on an old tarp or may use a hand truck) I did it on my own without my husband but would caution on the weight as it is heavy. It did not come with an electric pump we purchased that separate, there are many different types for that. The pump probably could help deflate but so far we haven’t needed to use it for that. One trip out in tent using the stove and the tent and stove did very well, tent was up for the task (it rained and snowed on us and tent did well). The tent did not come with a patch kit we have to purchase that separately.

  • That's a very, very nice outfit. When you want to deflate it when you pop the plug hook the pump up in reverse to suck the air out instead of in. And make sure you use the stakes. Wouldn't want to hear you took a Dorothy ride in it. Lol

    @FjHenderson@FjHendersonАй бұрын
    • We just unscrewed the plug and the air came rushing out, would guess after the initial rush of air coming out hooking the pump back up on reverse would be nice to get the air all the way out pretty quick. Lol, will be using some stakes for sure.

  • Great video 😊 was wondering What size r the rugs u laid down at the end of the video inside the tent? I have a7 x 10 was wondering if it would fit?

    @stacybledsoe911@stacybledsoe91117 күн бұрын
    • Yes a 7 x 10 would easily fit in either room. The back room is a touch bigger than the front with the inside space of the front room being approximately 11.5ft x 7.5ft.

    • Dimensions from manufacturer website. Width - 3,60 m (141.73") Length - 4,80 m (188.98") Height - 2,20 m (86.61") We put it on a 12ft x 16ft ground tarp for set up.

    • We just used a 12x16 tarp we ordered off Amazon. The tent did not come with a tarp for under it. The floor on the tent is very thick and not sure one is needed, we use one to keep it clean or at least as clean as possible. amzn.to/4aeHxb6

  • Curious…what made you decide on the koala vs the panda?

    @HollyRCB247@HollyRCB24729 күн бұрын
    • Was a bit bigger overall (if I remember right) had two rooms should you want also. Large enough to hang out in with a few people when needed. Overall was a tough decision between em though.

  • Hate the colour. The slightest mark would show on such a light colour. Another thing which would be risky is the risk of it being vandalised with someone puncturing it when owners leave the tent unsupervised. Does it come with a puncture repair kit? As for the rain-cover, it seems an oversight if the main structure isn’t fully waterproof without needing a protective cover which in itself obscures the windows.

    @ImpartiallySpeaking@ImpartiallySpeakingАй бұрын
    • Thank you for your response, love hearing other opinions. It did not come with a puncture repair kit (we purchased one separately), on our first trip out it rained and snowed and without the rainfly it stayed perfectly dry. We’re thinking (the extra cover) is either for a rainfly or could be used as an awning (off to the side, front, etc). When we packed it up it was pretty muddy so had to dry it out and it doesn’t appear (from what I can tell) that it is showing marks or dirt on the tent.

    @karendavis2977@karendavis29776 күн бұрын
    • We did buy everything on sale and used online coupons (for most items anyway) so did purchase a lot less. Not sure how the sales work but we stalked the items and when they went on a nice sale bought em. For us buying items over time works well as then we are not paying (on average $200 per night) home rental fees that many times have three night minimums- so with taxes, cleaning fees, website fees, etc a 3 night weekend away can easily be $750 or more. The nice thing about a tent is when we’re not using it we don’t worry about it (no storage fee, license fees, insurance, etc). Even though a camper would be great and maybe someday.

  • Are those windows mesh screens? The bugs here in Florida can get in no matter what high-tech mesh they have. They always say bug free but the no seeums here are molecular...they are very tiny. They always get in specially the ventilation mesh. It's only good at the first few hours but as things settle, the bugs also settle. They start biting at night. So are the windows plastic screens as well coz that roof looks clearly enclosed and no gaps that the bugs can get in. Wait...why the room windows don't have plastic screens? Oh come on...terrible. There is a ventilation for A/C and the windows are just mesh? Never mind. Almost the perfect tent.

    @thechosenone2587@thechosenone258716 күн бұрын
    • Yes there are mesh screen windows, then zipper in plastic windows (4 on the sides of tent) for when you would want to keep the warm or cool air in. Bugs could not get through the plastic side windows (I wouldn’t think anyway), the top of tent is secure and the back window could be the only potential issue as there is not a zipper in plastic window for that one. There are two front panels, one seems to be allowing more mesh screen on it for ventilation and the other a big solid piece of vinyl/plastic for holding in warm/cold air. So far only used in colder weather (did rain and snow) and tent did very well. No idea how it would do in the warm weather just yet and if the no seeums will be able to get in. We haven’t had big issues with the no seeums in any of our trips so far.

    • On our first trip out it rained quite a bit and the tent was very dry without using the rainfly. Was waterproof in rain and snow.

    • @DirtyJakTheDustyBean thanks for the clarification! Did this tent come with an extended awning or cover? Watching many videos and some have a third extension to it.

      @Shinesman21@Shinesman21Ай бұрын
    • It came with what we called a rainfly that was shown in the video just draped over the tent- we are figuring this can be used in a few different ways (over the tent, as awning extension). We did not use it and the tent held up great in the rain without it, I’m sure we will use it in some way in the future
