The Macavalanche has been happening in Scotland for a good number of years - originally at Glencoe the race moved to Nevis Range in Fort William in 2022.
I managed to win the race in both 2022 and 2023 so was going for the third win in a row! A good course was set out on the weather was perfect for another classic Macavalanche race!

Hahaha yeh I got seriously caught out following for one of them 😂 was thinking “fuck what if there’s a massive ditch down here, my front wheel is already on its last legs without ploughing through a square edge drainage ditch” hahaha

Snow riding is my favorite riding. I made a a short 12 inch set of two skis that were able to pivot at the fork and the end of the skis were exactly at the wheel patch intended for the geometry of the bike. I could ride no handed oin the ski slope with it. LOL

Ahhh cheers! It was good fun on the open hill this year. Think it was quite a good route that missed the worst of the bogs! Haha yeh the rim tape did an exceptional job. It was the stuff that comes on the SILT wheels I had in there but if I ever need to replace it I typically use the Schwalbe stuff which is really good too!

Yeh he let me pass there! That was a bit of a climb there and I’m normally pretty strong on the climbs so had it earmarked as a possible passing location. He was probably hearing my mad spokes rattling like mad and wondering what was going on haha

It sounded like you broke a couple spokes on that rock while trying to pass.
The brakes sounded like the vuvuzelas from the World Cup.
Haha if only there were people trackside with vuvuzelas. That would be incredible haha
The camera should not be set on auto-focus but on manual. It's constantly trying to refocus and we lose lots of resolution.
