Alabama AGC Welcomes John Darnall of Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC into Alabama Construction Hall of Fame.
Welcome Mr. John Darnall into the Alabama AGC Hall of Fame! Mr Darnall is a key figure at Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC, and one of the five founding members. After graduating from Auburn University in 1958 with a degree in building science, he served as a principal and corporate officer for 41 years, notably expanding the company's presence in #healthcare #construction.
In his role as executive vice president, John oversaw critical business operations, cementing the company's reputation for excellence. Beyond his professional endeavors, he dedicated himself to numerous community organizations, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the Rotary Club of Birmingham, Alabama. Active in the Boy Scouts of America, he earned several prestigious awards.
Mr. Darnall's commitment to community service extended to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, where he chaired the scholarship board and the St. Luke's Foundation. Appointed by Governor Bob Riley, he served on the Certificate of Need Board of the Alabama State Health Planning & Development Agency for seven years.
Recognized for his outstanding contributions, John received the Associated Builders & Contractors of Alabama Cornerstone Award in 2003 and the ASA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007. His 64-year marriage to Tina Darnall was a source of unwavering support, and together, they raised three sons and cherished six grandchildren.

The Alabama AGC established the Alabama Construction Hall of Fame to honor and recognize outstanding individuals in the construction industry. These individuals are held in esteem by their peers and have demonstrated their professionalism through active support of the industry through their civic and community involvement. In short, only those who have literally changed the landscape of our state and nation will be enshrined in the Alabama Construction Hall of Fame.
Since January 1, 1920, Alabama Associated General Contractors has brought together qualified construction contractors and industry-related companies dedicated to skill, integrity and responsibility.
