BRABUS BUILT A MONSTER! My 200mph First Drive in New 900 Rocket R
This is the Brabus 900 Rocket R, a Porsche 911 Turbo S on steroids with the full expertise of Brabus thrown at it! Limited to only 25 cars, I'm in Bottrop, Germany, to bring you along for a first drive and experience, including an open stretch of Autobahn. They have built an absolute monster!
Having recently visited the home of Brabus for a full tour around the entire facility, and an opportunity to take in the work that goes into making their Masterpiece projects; full interiors, exterior parts, and engine upgrades, it's now time to return for a run on the road. What better then to drive, than the newly introduced, incredibly rare, and immensely powerful, 900 Rocket R!
With a background of transforming the very best Mercedes and AMG models, Brabus in recent years have expanded their portfolio including other brands, and in this case taking the 992 generation Porsche 911 Turbo S. The base model is an already immensely capable machine with 650hp, but the Rocket R brings even more exclusivity and luxury to the platform with a bump to 900hp, a full Brabus Masterpiece interior, and a unique exterior body package for striking visual appearance.
We'll kick start our visit to Bottrop with a tour of the car in the workshop where they are assembled, before getting out onto the road for a run on the de-restricted Germany Autobahn and ultimately onto the country lanes. It makes an absolute walk of storming up to 300km/h (almost 200mph) with an effortless nature that only a 911 Turbo derivative can match, yet manages to suit daily driving duties with aplomb.

I didn't actually notice it, not consciously anyway, until my wife, who isn't into car content at all, pointed it out to me once in passing. Of course, I *have* long been annoyed at the... bathsalt-y... style of jump-cuts that some KZheadrs do. Now I just enjoy consummate professionals like Shmee that much more.

Hard to comprehend that the top speed is limited at over 200mph when when I was younger 200 was a target that manufacturers were aiming for.
Also safety is a pretty important thing.

11:10 "People here have incredible Lane Etiquette" Yes! We Germans do, this is why having parts of the Autobahn with no Speed Limits works as well as it does. I remember the first time i drove a Car in the USA (and everytime after that) it was an absolute Nightmare, everyone overtakes from any Lane at any Speed, it was crazy. Americans always tell me that's because getting a License in the USA is not even remotely difficult and anyone even inebriated could pass their License Test and that explains it all Prost & Cheers from Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps
People think they're going fast relative to the speed limit posted and plug up the passing lane because they're going slow relative to the traffic on the road
Came from a Brabus S Class video thinking "if only they built Porsches", and here I am, wow. I drive a 500 hp Audi TT which is also 4WD and has a super stiff suspension, and indeed the most fun is country roads, I hardly ever push it on the Autobahn.

I am not the greatest of fans BUT, the following observation is astounding: "The undramatic nature of incredible speed, not getting to the V Max. You're not doing 100% throttle but knowing what the car can do, what it is capable of, is what is interesting." Unscripted, no interruption, continuous narrative of observation and comparison, is quite something.
Saw & filmed this car at last year’s Monaco Yacht Show. Didn’t even recognise it was a 911 for a few minutes. Absolute crazy car.

The Turbo-Rocket R is absolutely Mindblowing (for me: especially the bodywork!), if I had the money for this beauty I wouldn’t have hesitated a minute.

Unprotected radiators in the front seems like a magnet for stones
yeah that seems like a huge oversight. Usually there is a hard netting stopping leaves, debris and of course stones from ruining the radiator.
Somehow, a lot of new cars don't have a protective mesh

Just wow. Best looking Porsche i've ever seen (maybe apart from the 918 Spyder). Usually most supercars are flashy and over the top with screaming colors. That's not my thing. But this is EXACTLY how i would spec mine out if i ever had the money.

As a big fan of the channel since the very beginning, I think it needs a bit of a refresh and maybe move away from the repetitive garage tours. But really, in my opinion, they have never improved the look of a car, and I find their chopped carbon fiber very unappealing. Their aero-blade wheels do look cool, but their body kits are way over the top and 9 times out of 10, spoil the lines of the car. All of that being said, this is all my own taste and opinion. I prefer clean and understated body-kits, or none at all. If I owned a Rocket 900 R, like this, i'd definitely wrap it or paint it in a nice blue. I agree that the 'all black' thing they tend to do is too much.

Damn Shmee-That Brabus Rocket should've just been called The Beast. I feel like Brabus is what RUF once was,known for innovation in engineering. I LOVE what Brabus does with those Lamborghini boats that Conner McGregor and Vanilla Ice both have.

Power configuration-wise this seems the equivalent of the Stage 4 ~950 HP 1000 Ft lbs torque M-tuned Mod offered in the US, making at these power levels the Turbo S a reliable beast. Brabus exterior and interior mods make this one hold and increase value as a future collector's spec..

Every time a beautiful and informative video. I notice that you sit very close to the steering wheel. The ideal sitting position and steering position is with slightly bent elbows. In principle, you can steer better. Anyway, I noticed this. Again, always fun videos to watch !
