I think that’s also meant to showcase the Isabella doesn’t want to marry him “especially since her grandmother is kinda forcing it upon her” and is meant to be foreshadowing to her hiding her true feelings. Especially with what we learn in “What else can I do” with the lyric “so much hides behind my smile” as we see after Isabella realizes what she’s getting into she tries to hide her fear with a smile but we still see uneasiness on her face.

The magic is with the Madrigals so they are the head family of the town. Also Colombians are Christians, traditionally Catholic, it would be blasphemous to worship them and serve them as gods. There’s literally a town priest.
It's called Survivor's guilt. Alma/Abuela blames herself for Pedro's death (because he sacrificed his life so that she could live and raise their children), so, in her attempt to make amends, Alma has convinced herself that her family was granted the Miracle, (the Encanto, Casita and the Gifts) to serve the village and prove themselves worthy of Pedro's sacrifice. It's not her fault, she never had the time to grieve properly, as she had to raise three small children, and the rest of the village was as traumatised as her and elected her as their leader due to them feeling protected by the Miracle. No one was there to tell Alma that she had got a Miracle because of Pedro's love for her and her own love and ultimate attempt to shield the triplets with her own body (fully aware that she and the babies would have been killed next), nor that her triplets gained Gifts due to the FIVE YEARS OF DEEP UNCONDITIONAL LOVE Alma gave them (hence why every Madrigal gets a magical Gift at the age of FIVE). This is party the cause of Alma alternating cold anger and pity whenever she interacts with Mirabel: she is reminded of a time when she was non-magical and WEAK, when she lost Pedro. And Alma had been fighting for years to be strong. In her opinion, if Mirabel didn't get a Gift, that meant that her family at the time was no longer worthy of Pedro's sacrifice, that was WEAK and Alma was in danger of losing everything. Mirabel represents that weakness: she's Giftless and seen as lees than the others. The other reason for her harsh treatment is that Alma BLAMES Mirabel for Bruno disappearing: the night he went away, Abuela had asked him to look into Mirabel's future to know what it meant for the magic, then went into his room to see the prophecy and found Bruno missing. She didn't know the content of the prophecy, but she knew that Bruno had made it and that involved Mirabel. The anger she shows Mirabel is genuine, while the one she uses while referring to Bruno is a mask: Alma states "Bruno didn't care about his family!" (actually she meant: "Bruno didn't care about his MOTHER!"), but, when Antonio keeps her seat warm, Abuela calls him "Tonito" because she's reminded of how much sweet and loving Bruno used to be with her (and she used to call him "Brunito"). By the way, the Madrigals are having breakfast in the garden and the food table is outside, so... Is Bruno outside too, maybe hidden in the bushes behind Pepa and Luisa? Maybe he woke up early and sneaked outside, then as Julieta was setting the food table, Bruno stole some arepas and bananas, and hid back in the bushes! It's enough near the door to sneak back inside later and enough near the family to listen to their conversations! Plus he wears a green ruana and can blend into the bushes! That would be both funny and deeply sad: Alma walks past her son without seeing him, and, after she says "Tonito", she looks around for her Brunito... who is actually there, BUT UNABLE to come out to her.
