I took the ENGWE E26 Fat Tyre Ebike out for a 30 mile range test and review.
all in all the bike was a very comfortable ride and made the hilly trip effortless.
The bike offers lots of features that many others in the price range do not and the heavy duty rack will be great for my Bikepacking trips.

You are absolutely adorable, love to listen to you. Nice honest review, but the 2 sec delay is a concern, on trail coming off hill and facing another 50% climb.....im still on the fence. Thanks love to see another review in the sun to see your beautiful background.
Thanks Kate, the engine pro 2.0 may be an option for you. It's not what I would call a full on mountain bike but it would cope with most trails fine.
Cracking review mate really like the look of that , love the GC comments 🤣🤣
It's been a while
An authentic review from a very authentic reviewer. Very useful real world experiences to inform purchase options.
Cheers dude, that's what I was going for
Awesome mate , looking forward to a bike camp. When are they sending you that Vespa to review? Can’t wait for that one .
Not quick enough and not enough range
Good honest solid helpful review, my questions were answered. No no for me as there are others with better distance. You will go further with E-Bike than with conventional mountain style bike. So distance is very important for me. Thanks.
Cheers dude
I'm past the need for full MTB, just medium trail riding these days and I need security to clear the next hill without that pause, with a 80lb bike I'll check out 2.0 out. Thanks I'm so drawn to Scotland, it's in my blood, but I'm in USA. Happy trails😊
The engine pro 2.0 is great for hills, it is heavy but best all round bike that I've tested to date
Cracking review Nobby i really like the bike and finding a comfortable seat is ideal for them piles 😂 atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Yeah it's a lot of bike for the money mate, the power delivery takes some getting used to tho, I was out on it yesterday along with my wife's which is a torque sensor. Much prefer the latter
Very cool, I wouldn't mind having one but with the upgrades you mentioned in motor function, it might even improve the range.
I think it would, in fairness to it I was in the highest pedal assist for a lot of the trip due to my failing aged body
@@Nobby77 I hadn't taken my failing aged body into account... I going to need one with 2 batteries lmao
@saber1able pmsl
This Lad has a good attitude and good manners
That is rarely said lol
Nice bit of kit mate .
Does a job John, how are you getting on with the Hovsco
The range claims are in absolutely ideal situations, like it's pretty flat, you don't weigh much/aren't carrying much, you don't have head wind, it isn't cold and using lowest power. I've noticed big differences with my ebike on the same route in summer vs colder weather both with no wind, batteries perform better in warmer weather
Yeah I always take a stab at 60% of stated range, if it hits that in normal use then I'm happy. In fairness to this bike I was in maximum assist a lot after my knee gave up.
Good review. Delt wiith the real issues and not just about speed.
Cheers mucker, only saying what I see
Looks a great bit of kit Nobby.
Does what it's meant to Terry
Great way to go with and electric bike Nobby. If you change down gear before you stop you won't knacker you knees. What's the after sales like?? It normal sucks. Keep the assistance level on one level and a steady speed and you will go further on the battery. Did I ask you about the after sales??
Yeah gear control is key, I can't attest to after sales as I have had no issues. My contact at the company answered all my questions and asked for feedback and has always answered promptly, they are not customer service tho so bare that in mind
any chance of you doing a similar vid review of the BSA .
Funny you should mention that
The older I get the more I'm considering an E-bike, not sure what to get so keep COLLABORATING so I can make a choice and use any discount/affiliation code you can come up with. I have to agree with you about the throttle, when you can easily do over 15mph cruising on an ordinary bike it makes a mockery of the law. I'd say to commute just get some road tyres and fit plastic mudguards, lowering drag and weight would help.
Keep an eye you dude as I have some real budget options in the future.
Hello. What an excellent presentation of this e-bike. 👍 I'm an old fart - thinking of getting myself a motorized simple vehicle. My own "body hut" is not as willing anymore, so it has to be pretty much 100% throttle on my trips. I'm assuming that the engine lag you mention - doesn't matter if you're just driving with the throttle? I weigh around 80 kg and had intended to build a bike camper around 50 kg, so in round numbers 130 kg. What do you say about that - is this ebike suitable - or is there an another (step thru) model that can do the job better? Or should I perhaps choose a traditional petrol moped instead. Your knowledge is worth its weight in gold, as I lack experience with e-bikes. Best regards from Sweden 👋
Hi Erik, Thank you mate. I would say that the bike would be man enough for the job but I couldn't vouch for range. There is a step through version and they have other bikes like the L20 or the engine pro that are also suitable. The lag isn't an issue on the throttle btw. All in all the bike was impressive. Hope this helps
@@Nobby77 Hi again, thanks for your quick reply. Really nice when a KZheadr takes the time with his viewers - brilliant! I'm thinking about 2 batteries - that might solve the distance stress... Have a great time. 🙂
I am reviewing the ENGWE engine pro 2.0 in the next week or so. That has a torque sensor so would offer a much better power delivery option for the trailer
Yeah mate, in all seriousness, rear suspension saps power so that’s why the manufacturers of the non $6000 bikes tend to avoid soft back ends- so the soft seat post is the sensible option 😎👍
It done the job
Hey knobby, how the hell can it have a six speed shimano tourney derailleur if your cruising around in seventh gear?
Lol, it's 7 speed mate
Hello, I am 1.60 tall. Will this bike be too big for me? What do you think? I am about to buy it, but unfortunately I do not have the opportunity to test ride it.😊
You will struggle but they do do a step through version, so at least you won't nut yourself on the cross bar. From seat to pedal you may be ok. But I would say it's a bit big. What I can say is I've had 2 bike from them and been impressed with both so one of their other fat tyre bikes may be better for you
Youre freewheeling because the chain is shorter and the crank might be a smaller one on this bike,i know as i had to change both on the ebike i bought a year ago, i wished id known before buying the bike i bought it but now at any speed no issues with peddling do that's a very good feature on this bike.
It defo is a lot of bike for the money
How do you reset the trip meter?
I'm not sure tbh, I'll have a look next time I drag her out
Which bike do you prefer ..this bike or the latest 52v Pro ?
Engine Pro 2.0 for sure. Dual suspension, torque sensor, better gears and foldable if needed. The E26 is a great bike and better looking but I'm personally not a fan of the cadence sensor
I have the engwe pro 250w but i think its a 750w top speed 28mph, now where i live in rayleigh essex we have loads of hill roads, i had to connect the throttle as when you are in traffic stuck behind cars it was dangerous trying to peddle and waiting for the motor to kick in, cars behind you are inpatient while the weight of the bike makes you wobble, but now i use the throttle its great, instant power and at 65 year old a throttle is a must, the law is ridiculous it needs to change, even the little cars old people drive have throttles, yes the law is a joke!, oh and yes we can do 40mph down hills and not get nicked but some manual racing bikes can do nearly 30mph, and not get nicked, and we can see we have a silly government as the e bike laws were introduced by the EU and the government forgot we left and could have changed it to our law!
They need to sort it out mate, if they are serious about getting less cars on the road. Cap speed at 30 and allow throttles
Fat bikes are like mountain bike they don't do well one tarmac and but absolutely winner on gravel all the way... That's was I have a mountain bike white took off those crappy stickers panniers racks front and back and panniers bags front and back.😆😂 She look ace..
Have to admit that i really can't find that much negative about it. I reckon you have perfectly mentioned the negatives..its just that price and actually how all the same negatives i find Also on our kids Cargo Bike the carqon cruise. Its still a great bike to put our kids..yet it was a hefty 6000eu included some accessories. And to be fair..i also barely make it 35km trip with a single chargebof the 500w battery.. On Turbo. It does have the torque sensor and Drives fluent.. however still 6000eu man!! And to be fair its on Pedal assist and max out around 28kmh . So i truly wonder if this bike just doesn't exceed all that for a fraction of the cost.. anything else is basically bonus for me..even a local fatbike would cost me more and those are the things the youngsters ride on..this looks way more appropriate to an adult
The hovsco I reviewed was another great bike, around the same money with a bigger range. Other limitations to it tho. And not a fat bike
Fiido titan or Engwe e26? titan looks better, but e26 is more colorful, torn!
Not ridden the titan Mary
Hi. What is your height? Will it fit 183 cm?
I'm about 177cm and there is loads. Of adjustment left on the seat for me. I would be comfortable saying you would be fine
Ha! You were so polite to your photobombers 🙄😒. Nice frame shape, the temptation to turn it into a hard tail 1970’s chop with 4ft gooseneck or girder forks would be too much for me 🪚🔩🛠️🔧🪛🔨🧰🔨. Wait a second here🤔🤔, did you murder the second photobomber who appears at the 7min mark then suddenly dissapeared !?!?

@@Nobby77 if the top tube was as fat as the lower tube you could spray it grey and doll it up to look like a WW2 Zundapp🤔🤔😊👍
its got a 250 watt motor so its legal
Dear Santa, I’ve been a really good boy this year so………..
A lot of bang for the buck Si
I’m liking the big tyres to take my fat arse bruv
@@simongeorge3643 that seat post is a stump saver dude
Yeah must admit that would be a selling point for me
i think it’s bullshit, because 48v 16ah not for 87 miles ranges, if 87 miles should be 48v 20ah or 52v 16ah or 20ah. i believe 48v 16ah should be 55 to 65 miles per charger. i don’t believe in 87 miles for 48v 16ah. Company probably fool you! plus i seen compared many different ebike mosty 48v 13-16ah about 55 to 65 miles ranges.
Nice commercial
Thank you
U Shuld use that bike in London rush hour see how nasty cat user wanting to knock u off Ur bike.. car user hate bikes they think bikes shuldnt b on the roads... Mfs car users only have permission if they have tax. M.o.t and insurance without that's they proper f****.
TBF I worked in the west end for 13 years and commuted every day by car, I can see why cars get the hump. Not saying it's right but the amount of close calls I've had with 🚲 w⚓s jumping lights, hopping of curbs, riding wrong way etc is immense. There should be bike lanes everywhere and enforcement for bad cycling as well as bad driving
lee those who jump light are risking there lifes and the drivers who have to live with that . those kind of cyclist shuld by all mean by removed from the roads full stop mate... I stop driving as i`m unemployed and could affords to get my car fix so she went to the scrap yard broke my heart from I have a bike there is no jolly green giant will I every cycle the main roads as I was knock off my bike many yrs ago and I lost my bottle to do those roads . But I will cycle the side streets that are for cyclist which is ace for me as it NCR as well so i`m happy lady in that..
Lazy bike for the lazy arses who can't b arse cycling normal bike like I do...
Or people with conditions that make cycling an issue. ( I fall into the lazy category)
Uyes lazy arse . Lol
Ask urself how many times Is one going to use a blue bike like Ur other bikes..
@janettetaylor8760 a lot as I got rid of the others, swapped them for mopeds for upcoming challenges
@@Nobby77And I’ll buy this one off you so long as you doll it up to look like a WW2 Zundapp or BMW (sidecar optional) 😎🤘
