A girl journeys through a vibrant, pulsing, macrocosmic landscape, but a precipitous incident compels her to venture up a mountain in an attempt to save herself. A story about illness, perseverance, and our connection to everything around us.

I get it now. In the end, her friends were long gone, but their memories kept her going. As she gave up, so did the mountain, but then the memories of the people that she met kept her going and pulled her to her destination, and only at the end did she realize she did all that by herself. She went on a quest for a cure, when she never needed one in the first place. She had the will to do anything all along, she just didn't realize it until her friends showed her the way.
dude great response I never thought about it that way
What bout the party
+shinjo kun? the party was all the food times they had a key memory of her motivation

Is anyone here from "A Story From North America"?
that vid popped up in my recomended, this one popped up after i subbed
CaChakah MyCrackah omg I saw that
its been quite the day
Yes
thats the best video EVER!!!
I saw 11 minutes and didn't think I'd watch the whole thing. and yet... before I knew it, It was already over. Something about stop motion in general is just hypnotizing. And this one was particularly mesmerizing. Really awesome. Next time I get a bee sting, I'm going jogging. Lol
Oh, so it's all about you, isn't it?! What about the bee who dies after having stung you? Does it get to be "going jogging"? Yeah, next time be more considerate.
So fun ! Hmm you're so selfish 😢
Sartre plagiarized my unborn self for too long 😂😂Idk if you meant this or not but it was still fucking funny
@@sartreplagiarizedmyunborns9104 the best part was unironic use of "my humungous genetalia".
@_ho.kage wow true, that was like 5 years old comment at the time.
It's pretty cool. I've noticed the weather reacts to her actions and emotions. When she gets bit, a bolder falls, when she breathes, the trees sway, when she sneezes, the wind blows, when she's sick from the spider bite, the mountain is in catastrophe, and when she sweats, it starts raining. Enjoyed the video well done.

Good Video

it's kinda the central plot of the video
My interpretation (before reading any comments): The road is the true 'content' of life, not the peak - our dream or target. We can heal ourselves (our souls?) just by following the road towards something, the final goal isn't always the actual solution.
Needlestorm luvd ur thought
I like your interpretation

I think this was about how we should finish our goals in life. In the beginning she made the plan to go up the mountain and find that plant. But as she walked further up she started to party with the other creatures, causing her to become distracted and forgetting what she came there to do. So she became more sick and didn't have to motivation to finish, not until her friend came and reminded her of what she came there to do. But that's just my interpretation of it
That was what I thought too. I was scrolling to see if anyone thought the same because I didn’t agree with the other more popular interpretations of it. It’s really all up to the viewer to decide what it means.
This just helped me.❤️

I came across your work after the adventure time episode you and your team made. I can see why they asked you to portray Finn and Jake in Claymation. Your mix of cartoonist whimsy with darker undertones has the same kind of emotional impact that is found in some of my favorite episodes of adventure time. I can't wait to see more of your future work and I hope the adventure time team asks you to collaborate more in the future.
Even the ancient clay people twerked.

When I saw the dancing at 5:14 I immediately thought “This animator is from Bmore/MICA”. Good stuff.
i just realized you could see the trees were moving as she breathed. The tree trunks themselves looked like air pumps. Beautiful work!
Wow! Such a magical piece of breathtaking artwork. The layers of symbolism with the sounds, textures and obviously cunning crafts(wom)manship all combine to make such a potent little masterpiece for the soul.
first time i watched this was last year, but i kept coming back to watch it again, i love everything about it, the sounds, the animation, the music and the dancing
what an incredible experience all around. Didn't think I would stick around for the full video, but it drew me in immediately.
How can 1k people dislike this?? The animation is lovely.
Wow its 11 minutes. That's long for a stop motion short. So impressive!!! 💖 5:21 oh my god wait, its Oscar! From my favorite, "Belly", and "Summer Camp Island"!😱🥰🥰🥰
I was looking for a comment about about Oscar! The Summer Camp Island creator, Julia Pott, is credited at the end, which is super cool!!
@@Kate-kz2vv yes!!!! I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed 🥰. I was shocked because I knew Julia Pott has used the character before in multiple of her own works, but I found this collab while looking up the artist who did the trippy video with the character with the butt who draws the viewer and says nice things, so I was watching this one because of that. Then I saw Oscar with his distinct eye design and I thought "no way... could it be?!" And that when I checked the description and saw Julia Pott was credited! Small world! **edit** okay the one I awkwardly described is called "Hi Stranger" 😂. I saw it a couple years ago when it went viral.
HOW DO YOU EVEN FILM STUFF LIKE THIS. Superb job, absolutely incredibly the work you do. You'll go far.
I love the trees bobbing up and down... I want to go on holiday there!!!
New(ish) Kirsten! Really should have watched this already. Exquisite, and perfectly-suited to the haunting, minimalist soundtrack. I do wonder whether the girl was dead before she came to Move Mountain, or if she died somewhere along the climb. And whether she was the same person as the male figure. An enigmatic and wonderful piece of work. Worth watching several more times just to analyze the various fascinating and disturbing figures in the wild rumpus scene. Am I correct in thinking that the central characters, and the mountain itself, were made of actual clay, at least in some shots? Very impressive. Also the trees were made of bendy straws. That made me happy. Ten thumbs up. And five tubs of popcorn.
As strikingly creative and unique as always!! Effortlessly sliding along some primeval spectrum of emotion, and resonating as much with warmth, humor, and beauty as it does confusion and fear of the unknown, this might be my favorite work of kirstenlepore 's yet!
Thank you!!!!! One of the nicest things anyone has ever said of the film!!! Just made my day! :)

I love everything you make, I just saw the Advendure time episode you directed and I think it looks wonderfull ! keep it up you are my favorite content creator ;)
Thank you so much, Théo!!!! :D
This animated short is awesome! It's got enough imagination, atmosphere and charm packed into 11 minutes to put most of this year's Oscar nominees to shame. The "Making Of" is entertaining too.
Is it really Oscar material, though? I think it's to hard to digest for the general public.
Criminally overlooked.
As is stop-motion in general.

I have very little words for how tremendously beautiful and awe-inspiring this was to me...I loved every moment of it, the mountain to me looked like a heart and the palms liek synapses of the brain. I loved the hand drawn animation smoothly mixed into the stop motion world. Undescribably beautiful....thank you for everything youve shared with me over the years....Continue to inspire.
its called move mountain because you have to keep moving?

Bruh the nostalgia is crazy, i remember watching this as a kid now im rewatching years later
I found the party scene hypnotic. Something about the simple repeating beat combinee with the awesome dancing made it so mesmerising. Thanks so much for taking the time to create this, can't wait to see what you'll make next. No rush lol
Amo esta animación, los personajes, la montaña, la música, todo, increíble trabajo, muy inspirador, gracias!
Whenever I see an animation or video like this, it makes me want to meet the person behind it so I can see how certain aspects of their experiences and personality bled into the final product. I want to create stuff like this some day. I have so many ideas, and I could create everything I could ever want to right now, right here, in the comfort of my own home. I just lack the motivation, and stuff like this is very inspiring.
Real sweet animation, always so poetic in Kirsten's and her team's job. Congrats!
That monster reminds me of the dude from Adventure Time "thank you" episode 😂😂
I love the good feel this gave me, both visually and musically. It's cute and a bit reflexive. I love it.
Well done Kirsten, I thoroughly enjoyed it, loved the jiggly trees.
Your videos are so beautifully put together! I also really enjoy the positive messages in all of your stories. I was feeling down today I stumbled upon your "hello stranger" video and it made my day. I've really been enjoying your other videos as well! Thank you and keep creating!

Magnificent! I was captivated, I just couldn't stop watching. Absolutely wonderful in it's entirety. Fantastic work!
Great to see another film from you. I had a meeting to get to so I was about to stop watching about halfway and come back to it later, but I found I couldn't stop! It was too good. I decided to finish it and be late instead. The medium of stop motion is so incredible to me, I love seeing what talented people like yourself can do with it. You could really feel the fire and the rain. Awesome, awesome work!

Some of the best stop motion on Earth!
nicely done
Why do I see you on every animation, everywhere, all the time? Even scribble kibble like jeez.
Jacob Cummins probably because I'm also an animator and like watching animation. Whoa, like totally strange concept right?
Yea, I just can't wrap my head around it.
Yeah come to think of it I do see you a lot... You're kinda like the next fartmaster69. Are you ready to fulfil the roll as comment King?
Ian Riddoch no, I'm an animator that also makes animation. I just love looking at other animators creations
Everything is so creative and fantastic. Giving different audience a lot space to think and reflect. In me, it fits for depression, good memories and determination. Just how can people dislike such a beautiful art piece?
This video is simply and uniquely beautiful. I love that the meaning behind it can vary from person to person based on their experience or personality. Interpretation is a wonderful thing. Respect for the creator ❤️.
such and outstanding animation, i mean it's just so freakin creative and different! Your characters have your own personal style, that's what i like about your work. In other words, you stay true to yourself :)
Great Animation around the middle area i thought that the mountain she was was her all along
ya! me too
love the dance scene! certified bop and also amazing animation all round!
This made me cry, it's so beautiful. Thank you for what you've made

Love it! The stop motion is adorable!
Wow! What a beautiful art! I think everyone looks at it from their own experiences in life.. for me it was very clear that he came to her when she was hurt, and helped her to heal, then he showed her the way to hel herself and took her to this party people. They were fun at a moment but when the party was done she was again alone, and her wound was not trudly heal by him, it was just a relief at the moment. So she had to find the way on her own to heal herself and the memories of the people she met followed her along.. at the end she comes to the cure but its not longer necessary because the way healed her by being strong and keep running..
This was great. Animation, timing, story, music, everything fit together beautifully.
Wow!! This is incredible!! U R so hard working and I can't believe u did this!! It gives a really sweet message and the characters r amazing!! Well done!! X

This video was about keeping healthy, right? Because when she was earing well and running around the blood was pumping on the mountain and the rivers were running, but when she partied and wasnt exercising, she started dying. But when she started running again, she got healthy. Just my thought
Shigloo yeah right..its about us being unhealthy
Shigloo
Shigloo I think when the water came out the mountain it was trying to say she needed to sweat out the poison it's not just the exersize while exersize does help it's cleansing/detoxing/sweating it out.

you made my day and your videos are some of the most beautiful forms of art i have ever seen because the characters don't need to talk they just need to act and do motion really you should be famous.
Really great. I definately picked up on her being connected to the environment, it was like a journey through life.
This is so adorable
Ez interpretation from my side. People seem to only concentrate on minor problems. But you mostly can only solve them when you get rid of the big one. In this case the bite ( maybe symbol for bad streets in a country) is the small problem and all the people concentrate on that one and become blind whats really happening. (thats why the bite gets worse). Meanwhile everything around them gets destroyed. ( for instance global warming ) but they were blind. One day they wake up and all get their shit together and push themselves to solving the BIG problem by helping each other, and meanwhile they realise that the street problem wasnt really relevant anyhow so the bite disappears.
Markor yeah peoplr also give too much importance to medical business world
This is one of the best stop motion things I have seen in my life it's so creative, fantastic, and beautiful please make more amazing stop motion videos
I have to give you credit for creating the golden hour, both the river and the lava looks very delicious

how many hrs (days) of work did this animation take? loved it!

I watched this since i was 9, now that I'm 16 and i felt the nostalgia
When i was a kid i made stop motion animation. Kind of moved to Austin and gave up on everything. Attempted suicide this year and my dad got cancer and recovered and i also had a really embarrassing mental break that was public and embarrassed me to the entire community. It was pretty awful. Now I am hiding out in my apartment all day or going out with my treatment people. This shortfilm helped bring me back from the dead. Nobody reads comments ever but thanks for making this. Sincerely, Garrett of Austin Texas

This was so good, I really hope you won some sort of award for it, if not you really should because it was amazing.
I figured the blue and red liquid had to do with his circulatory system. How the connection between the main character and the mountain is shown is magical. The use of colors to reflect mood, The camera work, The emotions, all fantastic!
Michelle Telfo
Michelle Telfo the red liquid is lava and blue liquid is whater if you look well the protagonist walked avoiding the red liquid therefore shows that red liquid is lava -.^
9:05 i felt myself falling asleep lol
