One of the biggest things that annoys me is that supercell neglects endgame players, as an endgame player with all of the brawlers and half of them maxed. New players get free rewards just for logging, and endgame players don’t, when the traffic road system got reworked so that up until 10k trophies players would get insane rewards like 900 credits and legendary style drops every thousand trophies. Endgame players that have passed 10k don’t get to collect any of the rewards.

It’s due to insane mass inflation, the first week of ranked was a dumpster fire with dodging, so there’s so many people who probably don’t even know what lane is or how to proper push and pinch, all the way in mythic 3 😂

The worst part is , that the 1%percent are the most passionate players that love the game the most AND on average the top 1%player pays the most money, but because they are nothing compared to the money that the other99%pay , they are being neglected.And it is not even the top 1%, I feel the same way bobby feels and I am not a pro. I think for the rank 35 queueing issue there could be a rebirth system where if you hit rank 35 on a brawler, you can reset their trophies to like 500 to get special cosmetics specific to that brawler.

Kairos talked about how the Dev team is making great features but does not finish them. It is clear that when they remade power league to ranked they intended to make it like Clash Royale... a ladder push then trophies after the end of this ladder where only people who care about competitive play and where it shows where you finished last season and your personal best. They made a great job for this ladder but forgot about the after ladder thing which is almost as important! most feature they make feels like unfinished.

100% agree we need a “best global finish” on your profile. With a fixed leaderboard it’ll do wonders. I also think they should add the ability to tilt after you hit diamond (like going from L1-M3) so it’s harder to get masters

I agree with the things you mentioned. I got top 200 in power play and it was awesome being able to flex it on my profile. I stopped playing the game for some years, levels, gears and new gadgets were added and I came across the level issue. Brawlers in competitive moded are not leveled. Although I got masters, it makes cero sense to have advantages in a mode that's supoosed to be competitive that have nothing to do with skill but how much time or money you put into the game. Brawlers should be all leveled the same and have all gears, like in all the other games that do have a competitive scene. This also allows more competitiveness to the game because new players can emerge and players who just have advantage because of brawlers level can find a spot that accommodates to their level.

Genies team does the same thing. They tried to get my team dqd in this last monthly finals for talking qnd nothing even disrespectful. They also offered to throw the match for a girls number on my team. It wasnt genie but his teammate that did this. To me somr may call it god, the universe, karma but genies team deserved this 100 percent. They are crying and complaining about things theyve tried to do other teams . People are missing this and sticking up for them like they wouldnt or didnt try the same tactic (getting teams dqd)😂

Just imagine an update where they only work on ranked system and ladder... A cool idea is the global ranking on masters to appear on your highest ranked icon... Hear me out..... Brawler Rank and Mastery Prestiges! They should make it so if u reach r35 on ur brawler, u can PRESTIGE and it would make u reset to 0 trophies (or some other amount), and it should upgrade the rank badge, similar to how it upgrades ur profile battle card after u reach ur previous ranked league again. This would give people an incentive to play their favorite brawler and enjoy them all while getting a sick upgrade to their existing badge. Now for *MASTERIES* , i think it would work better. After u master a brawler and get them to GOLD 3, u should be able to PRESTIGE, resetting ur mastery progress BUT giving u upgraded rewards and cosmetics to grind for. So like the gold rewards get increased, and the cosmetics could also get replaced by true silver, true gold and EVEN SOME NEW TRUE DIAMOND SKINS or maybe even a secondary title. They should also increase the requirements because these are PRESTIGES, they’re supposed to only be claimed by the most hardcore players, so instead of 24.8k points to grind for, they should make it x2.

Great video i played the first 4 days of the season got masters this season and last and barely touched the game after until recently, because the mutations update came out i think rewards that show your placements and achievements would definitely give me a reason to push higher in the leaderboard. Just to flex on my friends, im also competitive, and like to be a the top of my game so showing of my hard work would be awesome the closest thing we have to that is the battle card when we load into games that shows the masters badge so maybe next to your battle card you can have your highest placement i think that would be cool i think anything that shows your placements would be great or like bobby said some shelly or primo skin with the number of your placement anyways good luck this year with competitive we are rooting for you bobby Much love 😘

Bobby I’m so glad you made a video about this. I would watch you and other professional brawl stars players play power league and it was so entertaining. I would love how you guys would go up against each other and others that were really good at the game. Nowadays, you guys just go against random people and don’t get me wrong, I don’t think I could reach the highest rank in ranked. However, I miss when you guys would actually go against people who were really good and talented at the game. Its really sad to see how there is no competitiveness in ranked mode. I don’t really watch the ranked mode because of all this, I miss when professionals would have fun too. Honestly, I just watch old streams from professional brawl stars players on power league because that was when reaching the highest rank and getting on the leaderboard meant something.

These issues don't only apply to the top 1% either. Cool gimmicks, and mutations, and events and whatnot might make players interested for a short amount of time, but the returning players that have been around for a while just like casual Brawlstars. The game is successful because people like THE GAME... not all this random stuff. I would love ranked to be normal modifier because that is more enjoyable to me even though I'm not a top 1% player. Another BIG issue I see no-one discussing is playing with friends that are lower trophies. I have 43K trophies, and my girlfriend recently got into the game. It is impossible to play with her because all of our opponents are at MY max trophy range. There isn't an average among the teams. And it isn't individual brawler trophy. The game puts us against opponents who all have max trophies around 43K, and my girlfriend is left to die over and over and over again. It is the same problem even with my brothers around 20K trophies.

As for playing with friends there is no good solution. If they base it off an average then people will alt to help their friends push easier. If they base it off only brawler trophies new players will struggle even getting past 200-300 because they don't have maxed brawlers and are very bad.

An sollution would be that there is an option to reset your trofees on a brawler, and for a rewards you can get bling as an example. Like u reset 5 franks, u get an amount off bling. The higher the rank the more bling u get. So u have a reason to reset them and u can still play the brawlers you like. (Sorry for the bad english)

The core problem is that the game is to easy, masters and R35s are easily achievable by low tier players, there is no end game, that ranked profile score looks like a good idea, it adds something for the higher players.

Having that yellow number in your profile was so great. I'm not the best player, so having power play, and playing with a team every day was a grind and commitment, but so rewarding when I finally got it. It was nice to flex, and also would shut anyone up if they didn't have one. Honestly lost motivation to play after they removed if from the profile.

Some form on prestige on your brawlers for completing set quests on them(maxed out, rank 35, max mastery etc) could be a cool idea. Rewards could be as simple as changing the colour of that brawlers mastery title, just something simple to distinguish your grind

They should have a rebirth system for individual brawlers where basically there is a cost, like 2500 power-points to completely tilt your brawler, and when you push it back up to rank 35 it will show something like rank 35 (2) or some cool cosmetic next to your rank. keep in mind this is intended for the higher end of players, or as bobby says, the 1 percent.

Two issues you didn't mention about rabked for me are that the pick is now random. Previously the highest elo player got last pick and the lowest got first pick. This makes sense because last pick takes a lot more expirience and thought than first pick. Idk why they had to change that so now random mythic players have the power to choose the most important pic in draft. The other thing that annoys me is that it feels like after masters elo isn't taken into consideration (so basically in matchmaking 9000 is the same as 11000) meaning that i face platers all the way in mythic and low legendary even though there is thousends of elo between us. Maybe its intentional but id prefer longer que times and more accurate matchmaking over basically a coin flip if your playing solo

I really see your points. Even me, I'm 67k (pretty bad) and top 498 in season 1 of ranked. personally I find the modifiers a lot of fun, even knowing that it's taking skill from the game. But the game just feels stale, I don't have many friends to play with, and also I often just play 2-3 games until I'm bored. All my favourite brawlers are 900+ and my worse ones 800+. The game is unplayable from 900+ without teammates, and even after 800 since I just have my bad brawlers so low, and I face all 50ks or 60ks in full teams with the best hypercharges EVERY, GAME. Its just so stale since last update cycle and it needs to change for me to be grinding again. Or else it turns into a once a month ranked kind of thing until I reach masters again

I agree with just about everything you said in this video. I’ve played Brawl Stars since global launch. The team has always left some pretty wide holes in the endgame. My biggest complaint was not only the time for matchmaking drastically increasing but also there never being a permanent mode that isn’t weighted on trophies. Feels impossible to play with my real life friends because I’ve been playing for 5 years and they haven’t, and matchmaking would always give us opponents to fight people like me (still trash, just a veteran noob). They need at least one mode not trophy weighted so I can play whichever brawlers with whichever friends. You talking about all of your R35 brawlers being unplayable is an extreme version of why they need to do this at some point. As someone who can hit the bottom of masters, I think people in the ranked leaderboards should be able to distinguish themselves (…after they fix leaderboard ELO). My battle card, profile, jersey, or something should not be the same as those people who are intervals better than me. Dodging should have a higher punishment the higher you go. You didn’t talk a ton about it, but it’s super frustrating to figure out a good draft only to lose it almost immediately after finally queueing into a game. I also think they need to add a mini game in the matchmaking screen. Spinning star simulator needs an upgrade so it doesn’t feel like I’m waiting however many minutes for a game. Totally worth having a long discussion about all of that with the devs. Overall, huge W video. Thanks for making this vid for the people who might not see the problems at the top end.

When you talked about resetting the account in some way, it reminded me of the prestige system you see in Call of Duty. Basically, once you get the max level, you're given the option to reset your account back to level 1. Doing so will always give you a new prestige badge, depending on the game. It would give you different perks. Of course, I don't mean anything that extreme, but brawl stars could figure it out

Yoo I have a crazy idea for the ladder issue what do you think; When having every brawler on 1250 trophies, you are able to hit a button to go up a prestige (like in cod) which resets all your brawlers trophies to 0 while also keeping your trophies before resetting. It would also show in your profile and you can get prestige master or something, earn a skin or title idk

I think should make a “free play mode” that is unlocked after a certain amount of level 9 or 11 brawlers are achieved. Game mode should be maybe a full reset of playlists where players can play any of the current game/maps in rotation like normal, but only queuing with other “free play” players. The mode should include two different options, one being maxed brawlers only, and the other being what you have currently brawlers and stat wise. This type of full playlist rechange should be purely for fun with no trophy gain or loss, but again only unlocked once a certain amount of power 9 or 11s are unlocked. They could also add special rewards to it such as maybe a mini trophy road where you can actually gain or lose trophies to a NEW trophy road, not affecting the normal one! I think this would be pretty cool. It’s like brawl stars part two, but you are already beefed up

I think i have a nice fix for the unplayable trophy count, they should make another mastery road for reaching how many times you got that brawler to r35, just like how it is in Bloons TD Battles 2. You should be able to reset your brawler from 1250 to 0 and at rank 1. When you do that, you gain 1 count on your mastery track for r35 on that brawler. They don't have to but they could also add more rewards from that. And this mastery starts should show on you battle card, just like regular bralwer masterys. Hope you read this Bobby and try to reach out to the brawl team❤ I dont have any r35s but I am masters this season and I understand the struggle. The game you love and enjoy playing doesn't have any purpose to play😢

Hey Bobby - I don’t usually post but thanks for bringing this up. I’m pretty conflicted with the state of the game. Personally, I’ve always been a bit more of a serious gamer and quite liked the challenging aspect of brawlstars as you pushed higher up the ranks. More recently, I’ve really found the game near unplayable for reasons you mentioned in addition to: 1- hypercharges 2- unbalanced matchmaking in ladder due to trophy inflation (w/ streaks) 3- unbalanced matchmaking in ranked modes 4- unbalanced brawlers that fundamentally change how certain game modes are played ie: I commend the team at brawl stars for trying to be innovative, but I think brawlers like mico, melody, make certain other brawlers obsolete/unplayable and essentially not exist 5- now with mutations.. well we know where this is going With all these problems, the game just frankly doesn’t seem fun anymore, wins and losses feel random and outside of your control I’ve tried posting on reddit but this has been censored many times - I’m not sure how much impact you have but I’m really hoping you can bring more attention to this with the dev team Ironically, it seems like the game is doing well stats-wise with all these changes so maybe thats the direction this game is heading, and maybe that just caters better to a younger audience, but unfortunately that isn’t the game I signed up to play. Am also unsure how healthy this would be for the game in the long-run, for which we don’t have data for.

I justed to play ranked but in minecraft (hypixel skywars) and there were rewards only for the people in those ranks and then there were banners showing the position and stuff for when u were in the lobby (for brawl stars that would be the menu). Would be cool if they added some type of lobby reward or special projectile affect for the brawlers or whatever that makes it more special

How about they add a setting that takes away the whole earning or losing trophies thing and switches matchmaking to random? It'd be a game-changer, letting us focus on enjoying the game without all the stress. I mean, who wouldn't want to play with their favorite high trophy brawlers? They should also let you earn mastery points based on the average trophy count of everyone in the match, because the whole "you don't earn mastery points if you don't play ladder" thing is dogwater. Like, I can feel myself improving even if its not ladder..

The brawl stars team is doing amazing and i think if they just add a small number to the profile for ranked it would be substantial enough reason for pro players to keep playing

bobby great vid i feel ur pain as a former pls LOVER ENJOYER but every ranked system isnt rewarding alot high up cuz at that point it isnt really about rewards ppl wanting rewards dont get there ppl go to the top for the leader boards + adding alot of progg at the top would mean that is gatekept for the ppl who cant get there like that is a bit of progg a lowere skilled player would never be able to get till 4-5 yrs which again looses the retention i feel like they could do that u get more skins if u go higher from the ranked drops + they fixed the leaderboard this update give ranked a chance this season they did tons of changes alongside some attempts to lower the inflation

My guess towards ranked inflation is because there are more players playing the game mode, meaning more elo being distributed and therefore more players getting high ranks

I couldn't agree more. As someone who's been playing the game for over 5 years, I have some of these problems. The brawlers I like playing the most, I push the highest...and once I get them to 1k, which is essentially my rank 35😅, I feel like I can't play them anymore. You run out of things to do really easily. I've decided I'm going push rank 35 on my main brawler who I'm best at, colt, but I'll need a team of people and stop relying on randoms. I've simply accepted the fact that once I get there, I won't be able to play my favorite character anymore🤷♂️😢

One problem that I have, at around 37,000 trophies and in legendary for ranked, is a lack if coins. I have every brawler, but I can only play like 30 of them in ranked because I can’t get enough coins to level up, get gadgets, gears, star powers, and hyper charges

I feel like dodging is a necessary part of ranked. It’s annoying when it happens against me but even in masters I see people do things like force an edgar or pick 3 brawlers weak to mico which just auto loses the game.

What I would do to fix ladder is to add something akin to rebirths. Lets just say at rank 20 or above you can reset your brawler's trophies to drop them back to 0 for some kind of reward, be it gold, credits or an icon of the amount of times you rebirthed as that brawler. Masteries could stay maybe or get reset too so you can grind them out again but last 3 rewards could be altered since you already have them. And also, no, we DO deserve gems AND more resources. I can't say that i'm one of the pro players, but after playing a while I started to suffer from the lack of gold, since the only way you can get enough of it to upgrade someone is through pass, and I end up having way more power points than I could ever spend them because I have no ways of spending them, since I never have enough gold. And as of gems, they release more skins than you can buy, and since they basically removed the ONLY good pass the game had (gem one) all you can do for gems is buy legendary skins, which cost 300 gems. How long does it take 300 gems? 6 MONTHS. 6 months of grinding out the pass to the last level only to get 1 legendary skin. And by the time you buy it, Supercell releases 5 more of them. It essentially becomes impossible to max out your account because the game is leaning into Pay to Play more and more.

Lol this is ridiculous. In no competitive game is there excess rewards at the highest rank. League of Legends, SMITE, DOTA 2, all these similar competitive modes dont give you rewards for reaching higher ranks. You get leaderboard and you get rank name. You already have everything maxed out what more do you need.

but the feeling of playing ranked in any of those games is significantly more enjoyable and rewarding (in terms of reaching a new highest rank) top 500 in LOL for example, is undeniably more impressive and a measure of skill than top 500 in BS bc of ranked inflation and its overall unseriousness sure you can disagree with the rewards aspect and matchmaking issues but to deny that brawl stars has slowly made the game less competitive and rewarding from its transition from power play to power league to ranked is crazy

Now I only play community maps to get the 8 wins because of the godzilla eggs, but there's really no reason for me to play the game anymore, you can reach masters in 1 day and there's nothing to do. I have a lot of brawlers at 900 and 1k trophies but I play solo so its not really fun to play and as you said, the brawlers I dont have at 900 are not fun to play for me plus the fact you finish the brawl pass in like two weeks or less. Maybe they should add a Mastery game mode in which you won more Mastery per win but not trophies and you could go above gold 3 or sum by playing that game mode.

I think they should give out unique title every season for the person who finishes 1st or maybe first 100 players on leaderboard or something like that. It would give people more of a reason to push even after they reach masters and idk if it's completely removed yet from masters but modes shouldn't be a thing in masters gameplay. They could add Brawler prestige where when you get to 1500 trophies, you have the option to Brawler prestige(Which will reset that brawlers trophies), which will give you a character prestige pin, that changes each time you prestige with that brawler.

My goal was to get masters solo PL, i was peak L1. Now the mode is gone, i will never be able to. I got ranked masters which is worthless. i have no goals anymore. Mutations in half the ladder game mode. Literally cannot play the game like you see in esports which is what i like the most about brawl.

I've said before there needs to be long term flex cosmetics. Top tier efforts need and players need to be able to really flex more than just a title. I think we need true rainbow or true diamond skins. Only obtained for the hardest of challenges. Then this can be built upon, like an exclusive spray for reaching rank 35 on a trio, or mastering a trio.

i know its a bit late but i come with an idea, how about (on ladder) you can reset your rank 35 like its a prestige level on call of duty and it resets you to idk 500 trophies and when you rank again up the 35 rank simbol has a different art more simbolic or maybe just add a star to de mark every time you reset and reach it (and it also reset your stars per season) hope this idea can get to something but idk

Ive been a massive Brawl stars lover and have played almost every day for the last 6 years. Spent some money along the way and have a maxxed out account. Even making it to legendary in ranked now almost feels like cheese because its so easy. I hope that supercell figures out how to fix ranked because the elo right now is horrible and it seems like anyone can make it to masters nowadays and its ruining the competitive feel of old power league. Good video bobby and I hope supercell can make sure they can keep their most loyal players happy while still appealing to new players. One thing I think needs to change is stop releasing a new brawler every month! Its becoming way too much and were going to be at 100 brawlers by the end of next year! Theres no need for a new brawler every single month and I think it would help to make the game more balanced as well. Btw Slash is better than you at brawl Im still sad he retired😂

As a casual player i think that big problem for casual players is that powerpoints cant be used outside leveling. Almost every person i know has atleast 10-15k powerpoints but gets too little coins to even use these powerpoints. Supercell should add some way to for example buy hypercharges/sp/gadgets for powerpoints, because they are worthless. I have 20k powerpoints but i have 15 brawlers at levels 1-4 because i just cant afford them.

Maybe to fix the issue with rank 35 they could add ability to reset your trophies on a brawler and reach rank 35 again. Then after you reach your second rank 35 it would show you that you reached it two or more times.(you could use this only after you hit rank 35)

For The ladder problem, Prestigy should be fine. It's a way to reset your brawler to Tier 1 again, but you recieve a little medal/custom item on that brawler/icon of said Brawler that shows you achieved the Tier 35 one or multiple times

my issues: wayyyy to many buggs, bad matchmaking, neglect of players, win traders, teamers, dodging, ranked is sometimes only 4h content for players and content creators and more. Tbh i think that brawl stars is turning into clash royal 2.0 with the bad management and the rising greed(my personal opinion)

Levels above masters obviously needed. Nice thing with all the new players is they have lots of money coming in. I watch content from spen and Bobby and some from a couple of others. It’s also great to watch great gameplay. Add 2 more levels. After masters make a real punishment for dodging. Zero modifiers. I really like the jersey idea. That’s a cool one.

One of the biggest things that annoys me is that supercell neglects endgame players, as an endgame player with all of the brawlers and half of them maxed. New players get free rewards just for logging, and endgame players don’t, when the traffic road system got reworked so that up until 10k trophies players would get insane rewards like 900 credits and legendary style drops every thousand trophies. Endgame players that have passed 10k don’t get to collect any of the rewards.

Honestly, good idea, awfull execution. Rebirth should be to not less than 1000. Imagine that you are just casual 500 trophy shelly that just got your first rank 20 and you face some guy that has 35 rank and just reseted.
Kairos talked about how the Dev team is making great features but does not finish them. It is clear that when they remade power league to ranked they intended to make it like Clash Royale... a ladder push then trophies after the end of this ladder where only people who care about competitive play and where it shows where you finished last season and your personal best. They made a great job for this ladder but forgot about the after ladder thing which is almost as important! most feature they make feels like unfinished.

100% agree we need a “best global finish” on your profile. With a fixed leaderboard it’ll do wonders. I also think they should add the ability to tilt after you hit diamond (like going from L1-M3) so it’s harder to get masters
I agree with the things you mentioned. I got top 200 in power play and it was awesome being able to flex it on my profile. I stopped playing the game for some years, levels, gears and new gadgets were added and I came across the level issue. Brawlers in competitive moded are not leveled. Although I got masters, it makes cero sense to have advantages in a mode that's supoosed to be competitive that have nothing to do with skill but how much time or money you put into the game. Brawlers should be all leveled the same and have all gears, like in all the other games that do have a competitive scene. This also allows more competitiveness to the game because new players can emerge and players who just have advantage because of brawlers level can find a spot that accommodates to their level.

They also offered to throw the match for a girls number on my team. It wasnt genie but his teammate that did this. So true bobby I actually agree 100% with what you said, they focusing on bringing more players with crazy amount of gifts and skins that are actually useless... Just imagine an update where they only work on ranked system and ladder... A cool idea is the global ranking on masters to appear on your highest ranked icon... Also top 100 players could get something like 100 gems and top 10 to 1 even better rewards...
Hear me out..... Brawler Rank and Mastery Prestiges! They should make it so if u reach r35 on ur brawler, u can PRESTIGE and it would make u reset to 0 trophies (or some other amount), and it should upgrade the rank badge, similar to how it upgrades ur profile battle card after u reach ur previous ranked league again. This would give people an incentive to play their favorite brawler and enjoy them all while getting a sick upgrade to their existing badge. Now for *MASTERIES* , i think it would work better. After u master a brawler and get them to GOLD 3, u should be able to PRESTIGE, resetting ur mastery progress BUT giving u upgraded rewards and cosmetics to grind for. So like the gold rewards get increased, and the cosmetics could also get replaced by true silver, true gold and EVEN SOME NEW TRUE DIAMOND SKINS or maybe even a secondary title. They should also increase the requirements because these are PRESTIGES, they’re supposed to only be claimed by the most hardcore players, so instead of 24.8k points to grind for, they should make it x2.

Great video i played the first 4 days of the season got masters this season and last and barely touched the game after until recently, because the mutations update came out i think rewards that show your placements and achievements would definitely give me a reason to push higher in the leaderboard. Just to flex on my friends, im also competitive, and like to be a the top of my game so showing of my hard work would be awesome the closest thing we have to that is the battle card when we load into games that shows the masters badge so maybe next to your battle card you can have your highest placement i think that would be cool i think anything that shows your placements would be great or like bobby said some shelly or primo skin with the number of your placement anyways good luck this year with competitive we are rooting for you bobby Much love 😘
Bobby I’m so glad you made a video about this. I would watch you and other professional brawl stars players play power league and it was so entertaining. I would love how you guys would go up against each other and others that were really good at the game. Nowadays, you guys just go against random people and don’t get me wrong, I don’t think I could reach the highest rank in ranked. However, I miss when you guys would actually go against people who were really good and talented at the game. Its really sad to see how there is no competitiveness in ranked mode. I don’t really watch the ranked mode because of all this, I miss when professionals would have fun too. Honestly, I just watch old streams from professional brawl stars players on power league because that was when reaching the highest rank and getting on the leaderboard meant something.
These issues don't only apply to the top 1% either. Cool gimmicks, and mutations, and events and whatnot might make players interested for a short amount of time, but the returning players that have been around for a while just like casual Brawlstars. The game is successful because people like THE GAME... not all this random stuff. I would love ranked to be normal modifier because that is more enjoyable to me even though I'm not a top 1% player. Another BIG issue I see no-one discussing is playing with friends that are lower trophies. I have 43K trophies, and my girlfriend recently got into the game. It is impossible to play with her because all of our opponents are at MY max trophy range. There isn't an average among the teams. And it isn't individual brawler trophy. The game puts us against opponents who all have max trophies around 43K, and my girlfriend is left to die over and over and over again. It is the same problem even with my brothers around 20K trophies.
As for playing with friends there is no good solution. If they base it off an average then people will alt to help their friends push easier. If they base it off only brawler trophies new players will struggle even getting past 200-300 because they don't have maxed brawlers and are very bad.

An sollution would be that there is an option to reset your trofees on a brawler, and for a rewards you can get bling as an example. Like u reset 5 franks, u get an amount off bling. The higher the rank the more bling u get. So u have a reason to reset them and u can still play the brawlers you like. (Sorry for the bad english)

The core problem is that the game is to easy, masters and R35s are easily achievable by low tier players, there is no end game, that ranked profile score looks like a good idea, it adds something for the higher players.

Having that yellow number in your profile was so great. I'm not the best player, so having power play, and playing with a team every day was a grind and commitment, but so rewarding when I finally got it. It was nice to flex, and also would shut anyone up if they didn't have one. Honestly lost motivation to play after they removed if from the profile.
Some form on prestige on your brawlers for completing set quests on them(maxed out, rank 35, max mastery etc) could be a cool idea. Rewards could be as simple as changing the colour of that brawlers mastery title, just something simple to distinguish your grind
this all makes sense something is driving me away from bs but for now i deleted cuz od mutations theyre frustrating to do my dailies with. in the past i complained about bad randoms and grief play and although i had solutions they said the dev team is responsible and i should make friends
Thank you for making this video. I pretty much played power league exclusively since I loved the challenge. ranked just keeps getting easier. there is just nothing I can do in this game anymore.

They should have a rebirth system for individual brawlers where basically there is a cost, like 2500 power-points to completely tilt your brawler, and when you push it back up to rank 35 it will show something like rank 35 (2) or some cool cosmetic next to your rank. keep in mind this is intended for the higher end of players, or as bobby says, the 1 percent.
Two issues you didn't mention about rabked for me are that the pick is now random. Previously the highest elo player got last pick and the lowest got first pick. This makes sense because last pick takes a lot more expirience and thought than first pick. Idk why they had to change that so now random mythic players have the power to choose the most important pic in draft. The other thing that annoys me is that it feels like after masters elo isn't taken into consideration (so basically in matchmaking 9000 is the same as 11000) meaning that i face platers all the way in mythic and low legendary even though there is thousends of elo between us. Maybe its intentional but id prefer longer que times and more accurate matchmaking over basically a coin flip if your playing solo

I really see your points. Even me, I'm 67k (pretty bad) and top 498 in season 1 of ranked. personally I find the modifiers a lot of fun, even knowing that it's taking skill from the game. But the game just feels stale, I don't have many friends to play with, and also I often just play 2-3 games until I'm bored. All my favourite brawlers are 900+ and my worse ones 800+. The game is unplayable from 900+ without teammates, and even after 800 since I just have my bad brawlers so low, and I face all 50ks or 60ks in full teams with the best hypercharges EVERY, GAME. Its just so stale since last update cycle and it needs to change for me to be grinding again. Or else it turns into a once a month ranked kind of thing until I reach masters again
I agree with this video completely, now I have nothing to do in the game outside of scrims. Maybe a good idea would be to give you a title with your top in ranked like: #1 in ranked
I agree with just about everything you said in this video. I’ve played Brawl Stars since global launch. The team has always left some pretty wide holes in the endgame. My biggest complaint was not only the time for matchmaking drastically increasing but also there never being a permanent mode that isn’t weighted on trophies. Feels impossible to play with my real life friends because I’ve been playing for 5 years and they haven’t, and matchmaking would always give us opponents to fight people like me (still trash, just a veteran noob). They need at least one mode not trophy weighted so I can play whichever brawlers with whichever friends. You talking about all of your R35 brawlers being unplayable is an extreme version of why they need to do this at some point. As someone who can hit the bottom of masters, I think people in the ranked leaderboards should be able to distinguish themselves (…after they fix leaderboard ELO). My battle card, profile, jersey, or something should not be the same as those people who are intervals better than me. Dodging should have a higher punishment the higher you go. You didn’t talk a ton about it, but it’s super frustrating to figure out a good draft only to lose it almost immediately after finally queueing into a game. I also think they need to add a mini game in the matchmaking screen. Spinning star simulator needs an upgrade so it doesn’t feel like I’m waiting however many minutes for a game. Totally worth having a long discussion about all of that with the devs. Overall, huge W video. Thanks for making this vid for the people who might not see the problems at the top end.
another thing i noticed as a more upper midladder player, i got L1 in PL like 2 years ago and it was a GRIND, then i quit for basically the last two years, came back and got L1 in a few hours. its honestly just kinda comical how diluted the skill gap is because anyone can get to mythic pretty easily
When you talked about resetting the account in some way, it reminded me of the prestige system you see in Call of Duty. Basically, once you get the max level, you're given the option to reset your account back to level 1. Doing so will always give you a new prestige badge, depending on the game. It would give you different perks. Of course, I don't mean anything that extreme, but brawl stars could figure it out
Yoo I have a crazy idea for the ladder issue what do you think; When having every brawler on 1250 trophies, you are able to hit a button to go up a prestige (like in cod) which resets all your brawlers trophies to 0 while also keeping your trophies before resetting. It would also show in your profile and you can get prestige master or something, earn a skin or title idk
I think should make a “free play mode” that is unlocked after a certain amount of level 9 or 11 brawlers are achieved. Game mode should be maybe a full reset of playlists where players can play any of the current game/maps in rotation like normal, but only queuing with other “free play” players. The mode should include two different options, one being maxed brawlers only, and the other being what you have currently brawlers and stat wise. This type of full playlist rechange should be purely for fun with no trophy gain or loss, but again only unlocked once a certain amount of power 9 or 11s are unlocked. They could also add special rewards to it such as maybe a mini trophy road where you can actually gain or lose trophies to a NEW trophy road, not affecting the normal one! I think this would be pretty cool. It’s like brawl stars part two, but you are already beefed up
ranked must be like ladder in Clash Royale with more ressources exclusives emotes and the road must be longer. (in BS tho there bad are randoms.)
completely true i was a mythic 1 power league player but when ranked came around first season i manadged to get 10k elo it just felt so undeserved and easy so uncompetitive
i think they should put like medals. for example a high medal: get 10 mastery titles (and that gets u an own title, like „mastery grinder“ or stuff), just that small idea would be so cool
I think i have a nice fix for the unplayable trophy count, they should make another mastery road for reaching how many times you got that brawler to r35, just like how it is in Bloons TD Battles 2. You should be able to reset your brawler from 1250 to 0 and at rank 1. When you do that, you gain 1 count on your mastery track for r35 on that brawler. They don't have to but they could also add more rewards from that. And this mastery starts should show on you battle card, just like regular bralwer masterys. Hope you read this Bobby and try to reach out to the brawl team❤ I dont have any r35s but I am masters this season and I understand the struggle. The game you love and enjoy playing doesn't have any purpose to play😢
Hey Bobby - I don’t usually post but thanks for bringing this up. I’m pretty conflicted with the state of the game. Personally, I’ve always been a bit more of a serious gamer and quite liked the challenging aspect of brawlstars as you pushed higher up the ranks. More recently, I’ve really found the game near unplayable for reasons you mentioned in addition to: 1- hypercharges 2- unbalanced matchmaking in ladder due to trophy inflation (w/ streaks) 3- unbalanced matchmaking in ranked modes 4- unbalanced brawlers that fundamentally change how certain game modes are played ie: I commend the team at brawl stars for trying to be innovative, but I think brawlers like mico, melody, make certain other brawlers obsolete/unplayable and essentially not exist 5- now with mutations.. well we know where this is going With all these problems, the game just frankly doesn’t seem fun anymore, wins and losses feel random and outside of your control I’ve tried posting on reddit but this has been censored many times - I’m not sure how much impact you have but I’m really hoping you can bring more attention to this with the dev team Ironically, it seems like the game is doing well stats-wise with all these changes so maybe thats the direction this game is heading, and maybe that just caters better to a younger audience, but unfortunately that isn’t the game I signed up to play. Am also unsure how healthy this would be for the game in the long-run, for which we don’t have data for.

I justed to play ranked but in minecraft (hypixel skywars) and there were rewards only for the people in those ranks and then there were banners showing the position and stuff for when u were in the lobby (for brawl stars that would be the menu). Would be cool if they added some type of lobby reward or special projectile affect for the brawlers or whatever that makes it more special

I agree I feel like it’d be so easy to implement the cosmetics for the top 1% at least for a little bit while they plan future things out. Also I finally just got 120hz and then power league was removed 😢 so I never got to try masters and ranked is way too easy even for me
How about they add a setting that takes away the whole earning or losing trophies thing and switches matchmaking to random? It'd be a game-changer, letting us focus on enjoying the game without all the stress. I mean, who wouldn't want to play with their favorite high trophy brawlers? They should also let you earn mastery points based on the average trophy count of everyone in the match, because the whole "you don't earn mastery points if you don't play ladder" thing is dogwater. Like, I can feel myself improving even if its not ladder..
i just want to say that ranked has come a long way, like compared to power league with win trading in team power league this new ranked is amazing. The brawl stars team is doing amazing and i think if they just add a small number to the profile for ranked it would be substantial enough reason for pro players to keep playing
bobby great vid i feel ur pain as a former pls LOVER ENJOYER but every ranked system isnt rewarding alot high up cuz at that point it isnt really about rewards ppl wanting rewards dont get there ppl go to the top for the leader boards + adding alot of progg at the top would mean that is gatekept for the ppl who cant get there like that is a bit of progg a lowere skilled player would never be able to get till 4-5 yrs which again looses the retention i feel like they could do that u get more skins if u go higher from the ranked drops + they fixed the leaderboard this update give ranked a chance this season they did tons of changes alongside some attempts to lower the inflation

I couldn't agree more. As someone who's been playing the game for over 5 years, I have some of these problems. The brawlers I like playing the most, I push the highest...and once I get them to 1k, which is essentially my rank 35😅, I feel like I can't play them anymore. You run out of things to do really easily. I've decided I'm going push rank 35 on my main brawler who I'm best at, colt, but I'll need a team of people and stop relying on randoms. I've simply accepted the fact that once I get there, I won't be able to play my favorite character anymore🤷♂️😢
6:19 How about they make it so you can trade some trophies, say past rank 30 to get some credits. That way you're able to reset your brawlers and get some fame which already serves as an endgame resource sink
i’m not at top ladder yet, but an idea i thought of would be prestige, having prestige to play with other prestige players, with increased rewards.
One problem that I have, at around 37,000 trophies and in legendary for ranked, is a lack if coins. I have every brawler, but I can only play like 30 of them in ranked because I can’t get enough coins to level up, get gadgets, gears, star powers, and hyper charges

I feel like dodging is a necessary part of ranked. It’s annoying when it happens against me but even in masters I see people do things like force an edgar or pick 3 brawlers weak to mico which just auto loses the game.

What I would do to fix ladder is to add something akin to rebirths. Lets just say at rank 20 or above you can reset your brawler's trophies to drop them back to 0 for some kind of reward, be it gold, credits or an icon of the amount of times you rebirthed as that brawler. Masteries could stay maybe or get reset too so you can grind them out again but last 3 rewards could be altered since you already have them. And also, no, we DO deserve gems AND more resources. I can't say that i'm one of the pro players, but after playing a while I started to suffer from the lack of gold, since the only way you can get enough of it to upgrade someone is through pass, and I end up having way more power points than I could ever spend them because I have no ways of spending them, since I never have enough gold. And as of gems, they release more skins than you can buy, and since they basically removed the ONLY good pass the game had (gem one) all you can do for gems is buy legendary skins, which cost 300 gems. How long does it take 300 gems? 6 MONTHS. 6 months of grinding out the pass to the last level only to get 1 legendary skin. And by the time you buy it, Supercell releases 5 more of them. It essentially becomes impossible to max out your account because the game is leaning into Pay to Play more and more.
Lol this is ridiculous. In no competitive game is there excess rewards at the highest rank. League of Legends, SMITE, DOTA 2, all these similar competitive modes dont give you rewards for reaching higher ranks. You get leaderboard and you get rank name. You already have everything maxed out what more do you need.
but the feeling of playing ranked in any of those games is significantly more enjoyable and rewarding (in terms of reaching a new highest rank) top 500 in LOL for example, is undeniably more impressive and a measure of skill than top 500 in BS bc of ranked inflation and its overall unseriousness sure you can disagree with the rewards aspect and matchmaking issues but to deny that brawl stars has slowly made the game less competitive and rewarding from its transition from power play to power league to ranked is crazy

Now I only play community maps to get the 8 wins because of the godzilla eggs, but there's really no reason for me to play the game anymore, you can reach masters in 1 day and there's nothing to do. I have a lot of brawlers at 900 and 1k trophies but I play solo so its not really fun to play and as you said, the brawlers I dont have at 900 are not fun to play for me plus the fact you finish the brawl pass in like two weeks or less. Maybe they should add a Mastery game mode in which you won more Mastery per win but not trophies and you could go above gold 3 or sum by playing that game mode.

For the issue with latter I think the solution has to be a prestige system, trade your trophies for a prestige level that also comes with a reward of coins and power points and credits
I think they should give out unique title every season for the person who finishes 1st or maybe first 100 players on leaderboard or something like that. It would give people more of a reason to push even after they reach masters and idk if it's completely removed yet from masters but modes shouldn't be a thing in masters gameplay. They could add Brawler prestige where when you get to 1500 trophies, you have the option to Brawler prestige(Which will reset that brawlers trophies), which will give you a character prestige pin, that changes each time you prestige with that brawler.
My goal was to get masters solo PL, i was peak L1. Now the mode is gone, i will never be able to. I got ranked masters which is worthless. i have no goals anymore. Mutations in half the ladder game mode. Literally cannot play the game like you see in esports which is what i like the most about brawl.

I've said before there needs to be long term flex cosmetics. Top tier efforts need and players need to be able to really flex more than just a title. I think we need true rainbow or true diamond skins. Only obtained for the hardest of challenges. Then this can be built upon, like an exclusive spray for reaching rank 35 on a trio, or mastering a trio.

i feel like this ranked is way too easy to progress. like back when it was power league my highest was L2, i hit masters last season for the first time due to the new ranked mode. and on my local leaderboards ik not even ranked which tells me way too many people r masters who don’t deserve to be and i’m prolly one of those people
Maybe one idea for ranked would be to add a new rank for to top 100 players in ranked or something like that. Would make it more competitive and something to push for.
I feel like just fixing the leaderboard on ranked and give an exclusive emote if u end on the top 100 like they do on one of the clash royale events it will be a great thing to flex and its just an emote so its not that difficult to add to the game of course for that they will need to fix the leaderboard

i know its a bit late but i come with an idea, how about (on ladder) you can reset your rank 35 like its a prestige level on call of duty and it resets you to idk 500 trophies and when you rank again up the 35 rank simbol has a different art more simbolic or maybe just add a star to de mark every time you reset and reach it (and it also reset your stars per season) hope this idea can get to something but idk

Ive been a massive Brawl stars lover and have played almost every day for the last 6 years. Spent some money along the way and have a maxxed out account. Even making it to legendary in ranked now almost feels like cheese because its so easy. I hope that supercell figures out how to fix ranked because the elo right now is horrible and it seems like anyone can make it to masters nowadays and its ruining the competitive feel of old power league. Good video bobby and I hope supercell can make sure they can keep their most loyal players happy while still appealing to new players. One thing I think needs to change is stop releasing a new brawler every month! Its becoming way too much and were going to be at 100 brawlers by the end of next year! Theres no need for a new brawler every single month and I think it would help to make the game more balanced as well. Btw Slash is better than you at brawl Im still sad he retired😂

As a casual player i think that big problem for casual players is that powerpoints cant be used outside leveling. Almost every person i know has atleast 10-15k powerpoints but gets too little coins to even use these powerpoints. Supercell should add some way to for example buy hypercharges/sp/gadgets for powerpoints, because they are worthless. I have 20k powerpoints but i have 15 brawlers at levels 1-4 because i just cant afford them.
Respect to Bobby for speaking out about this ❤. As a F2P player close to maxing out his account, this really hits home. The state of the game for endgame players needs to be improved.
Maybe to fix the issue with rank 35 they could add ability to reset your trophies on a brawler and reach rank 35 again. Then after you reach your second rank 35 it would show you that you reached it two or more times.(you could use this only after you hit rank 35)
For The ladder problem, Prestigy should be fine. It's a way to reset your brawler to Tier 1 again, but you recieve a little medal/custom item on that brawler/icon of said Brawler that shows you achieved the Tier 35 one or multiple times

That totally true. I have 82k trophies and I’m good but not THAT good to push the trash brawler 35. I always face players that have the good brawlers than I have 35 and it’s so annoying cause I can’t play them. Thanks for the video!
one of the ways they could fix it is to create a rank store you basically play rank for elo, which you can then spend it in a store
my issues: wayyyy to many buggs, bad matchmaking, neglect of players, win traders, teamers, dodging, ranked is sometimes only 4h content for players and content creators and more. Tbh i think that brawl stars is turning into clash royal 2.0 with the bad management and the rising greed(my personal opinion)
Levels above masters obviously needed. Nice thing with all the new players is they have lots of money coming in. I watch content from spen and Bobby and some from a couple of others. It’s also great to watch great gameplay. Add 2 more levels. After masters make a real punishment for dodging. Zero modifiers. I really like the jersey idea. That’s a cool one.
