If you think about it, both of those shows are just American isekai.
Both shows were pitched by creators to Disney, and actually watching both, they go in different directions over the episodes. When going with the same trope thing, then we'd be throwing Harry Potter and Percy Jackson together.

The Knight from "Hollow Knight" also makes an appearance in another small, unknown indie game called "Hollow Knight". If you look closely you can notice that you play as a character with a striking resemblance to The Knight and also share the same name. This may or may not be a little nod to the hit indie game "Hollow Knight". But maybe it's just coincidence and I'm going insane.
In fact, one of the characters from Hollow Knight is called "Hornet", and she shares a lot of similarities with the protagonist of Silksong, also named "Hornet" Strange, isn't it?

Went into school one day, and one of the art projects that a class did was on a wall. They were what seemed to be clay masks that depicted some sort of monster. There was one that stood out though.... Someone made The Knight, and it was deemed good enough to be shown on the wall. To this day I still don't know who this legend is, but godspeed to that man.
Similar story. There is this bulliten board where they post artwork from the Digital Design class that I pass every day to get to the cafeteria. Two separate pieces showed the White Lady and the Broken Vessel.
My university has a sculpting class and one of the showcase pieces is an environment concept of the Mantis Lords. Makes me happy whenever I'm in the arts building

What's interesting about Owl House is that because Eda goes over to the Human Realm to get trinkets to sell in the Demon Realm, the Hollow Night reference in Owl House might have been an actual Knight plushie Eda found and gave to King.

As someone who plays a lot of dead cells, the pure nail is a really interesting weapons, less for the upwards and downwards attacks, and more for the fact that it's the only melee weapon that allows you to move while attacking

The game "Tails of Iron" has a hidden statue of the knight with a full set of gear, helmet, cloak and nail & the game "cake bash" has a reference in it's collection, where the name of the great white butterfly decoration is >the Radiance< and the description reads: Gaze into the light and hear a distant choir.

OMG so proud of my Brazilian fellow artists. Getting Dandara and Turma da Mônica (which means Monica's Gang) - which is a comic book series about a small group of friends who lives in a small neighborhood. They had a lot of characters in different groups like Turma da Penadinho (about some ghosts and monsters), Chico Bento (showing a more rural part of the country), The Tribe (about indigenous people), and there's the Green Elephant which is called Jotalhão and is part of a setting about animals. Turma da Mônica is very loved by us Brazilians and makes part of most people's childhood. Great video!

Hornet isn't the only reference in One Step From Eden. There is a rest ability that has a clear image of the knight and says on it, "for when you're feeling hollow"

Something to note about the pure nail item in dead cells is that unlike all the other melee weapons, you can move left and right while swinging, there’s even a small amount of knock back in those opposite directions

Bug fables actually has another, more overt hollow knight reference! In the chomper caves, there's a hidden room containing the beserker badge. In this room there's a nail strikingly similar to the one carried by the knight.

There’s also a Easter egg in fallout: 76 as both games include many many bugs. A reference is in The Stars Above mod for Terraria, where one of the craftable weapons is called the "Gossamer Needle", and it's attack is just Hornet's needle throw attack, with a dash ability and her AOE as well. Very fun to see all the references to my favorite game.

there’s actually a pretty small game that does make a hollow knight reference called “blood will be spilled” that had the knight sitting in a saloon, i recommend playing this game it’s pretty good, though it does have some bugs litterally and figuratively.

In a little indie roguelite called Revita, there are 2 items that are references to HK. There's the Shade Cloak item which makes your dashes deal contact damage (obvious reference), and there's the Broken Nail, which makes you deal extra damage to corrupted enemies and bosses. Two simple Easter eggs, but Easter eggs nonetheless
In a little known piece of media called "Hollow Knight" there seems to be a character referencing Hornet from HK.

Adventure Pals was a game whose Flash version I used to play as a kid. It's very nice to see that it's Steam version has a Hollow Knight reference
Another interesting reference: in the less known Souls games, they feature an interesting concept of gameplay known as PvP. Once someone beats you in PvP they use the beloved phrase, “git gud”, which of course is a reference to Hornet when she enters the Hollow Knight boss fight.

I swear I've started every entry with a date or some kind of a time mark but now I've completely lost track of time. mossbag has put me into an endless loop in wich I must view his two recent videos ("Top 13.5 Hollow Knight cameos in other media" and "Hidden Easter Eggs in Hollow Knight" very good content btw highly recommend) repeatedly, clicking that goddamn link over and over again. I have now every line of the script engraved deeply into my memory. My thoughts have became Hollow Knight references themselves. This is true torment. I can not escape. I'm late by a whole year but that same thing with The Block happened with Ori and the Blind Forest. A track was playing in a nature docu-esk video on Netflix but i forgot what the name of it was. It was definitely Artic or icy region related though. It nearly gave me whiplash from how fast i recognized it. It feels so bizzare that random unrelated shows would want to draw from videogame soundtracks like that. Just outta nowhere.

Two other references in Bug Fables to Hollow Knight: *In the Chomper Cave, digging into a crack in one of the walls of the cave (after getting the ability to use it) and following it to the other side will pop you into a room with an Old Nail dug into a rock in the cave. Interestingly, the nail is significantly bigger than Team Snakemouth, suggesting that the Bug Fables bugs are a lot smaller than the Hollow Knight bugs. Or that it's someone else's nail. *The Item Tracker badge, which you can get in the Bee Kingdom as a B.O.S.S. system reward, is the spitting image of The Knight's helmet. That's really the end of the references though.

@@gregac1984 Eh, it has its own identity (I mean the game looks so much more cheerful than Hollow Knight does, and it certainly has much more dialogue too), though it does have more than a couple references to the other, bug-based game. Though, it does have some references to things like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, and, of course, Paper Mario.

I love how Hollow Knight has just wormed its way into the hearts of so many creators and fans that they just can't help but pay homage to the game. It really speaks to the great impact this game has had.
