What You MUST SEE at the Louvre! | After Hours Tour of the Mona Lisa to Winged Victory

Filming while the Louvre was empty was incredible! This museum is amazing, but often overwhelming. What should you see? 9.6 million people visit the Louvre each year. Many snap a quick selfie with Mona Lisa or Venus de Milo and then they’re off wandering Paris again. What they don’t know is that there is so much more to The Louvre. They’re missing the good stuff--thousands of national treasures and hidden gems.
Come with me for exclusive after-hours access to see gems like the Mona Lisa, but also suggest some works of art you might accidentally walk right by!
Thanks to the Louvre team for allowing us incredible access to film. Nothing compares to seeing the Louvre with everyone gone!

    • So great to hear! Honestly, I needed days or even weeks to film enough content. Hoping to return again and be able to dig a bit more into individual works, etc. Super appreciate the feedback!

    • Haha! Indeed it is! I could spend a year just filming content there. It really does help having a list of what you want to see, and what you might miss if you didn't know more. Thus, I'm trying to blend a bit of both! Thanks for the feedback and for watching!

  • Do you know if the portrait of Julie Manet by Renoir is some form of a copy? The one in the black dress with white collar?

    • Honestly, I don't know! I'd have to do some digging. I do know that's in the Musée D'Orsay, not the Louvre. Thanks for watching and subscribing!

    • Thank you for replying I did get that wrong but I hope you can find an answer. I have one identical and had the brush strokes analyzed. Was told there were to many that matched his, that they could not count them all. Also the one there does not have a signature. However, mine does. The size is only off by a few centimeters. I would really love to know if you get the chance to look. However, it may cause me more headache than fortune I am afraid but just knowing I could be holding a valuable piece of history would be amazing. Thanks for sharing your visits for those of us that can not see it in person.

    • I hear ya. Trust me, I needed days worth of time in this museum! Having only a couple of hours just simply wasn't enough. However, I'm really hoping to return again and focus on individual pieces and not so much the museum itself. Thanks for watching!

  • Yup. Winged Victory. A bench in the area is the exact location my jetlagged wife dozed off the first time I took her to Europe. 😅

    • Well, unfortunately I only had about an hour of extra time that the Louvre gave me to film whatever I could. Imagine the excitement but also the pressure! My background is in teaching , so I decided to focus on less works of art, and do what I could best with the time I had. Also, keep in mind how GIANT the Louvre is! Either way, hopefully it gives people a very brief overview. I am working on another set of videos focusing on a tons of works, which will release this year. Either way, appreciate the view and feedback.

    • Geez, a bit harsh. Him/Nate here. Sorry you saw too much of me. Keep in mind my background an art educator is teaching. Thus, I approach each episode as if I'm speaking to a classroom or group. Over 90% of our audience is students, educators, and museums, so I try to make what is often seen as boring art history a bit more fun. Either way, thanks for watching!
