  • I think Moving on from Kennard and drafting one of these guards to replace him makes sense. A reed sheppard could fall and could be an identical player with better defense. This then gives us a bit more cap space to sign or trade a starting calibre center

  • I’m fully on board with the Andre Drummond idea. Why Damichael doesn’t see the need for immediately replacing Adams’ skill set is beyond me. We have always been a below avg shooting team & have relied on rebounding for second chances. This team is going nowhere without rebounding. And we’ve seen how badly Ja needs those screens and Jaren needs to be freed up to roam and be his best defensive self. This isn’t rocket science. I say we sign Drummond and draft the best big available-whether it’s Clingan, Filipowski or Ware. If we need to trade guys to get what we want, give up Ziaire, Konchar or Santi.

  • I dont claim to be able to see the future but, if you look at the draft order, unless Spurs want Clingan, he falls to 9. Hawks and wizards are likely too smart to take Clingan at 1 or 2. Rockets already have a slow back to the basket Pf/C in sengun so they would be smart to pair him with somebody mobile. 4-i could see spurs taking sarr here and taking the best wing available at 8. 5-Pistons already have Duren. 6- charlotte already has mark Williams. 7-portland has Ayton 8- See above Thoughts?

  • Trade the pick on draft night? Try to leverage teams to trade for it and see if you land a good big from it. Could also shed salary like Ziare or Konchar to match the numbers. Vince, GG, Scotty might've made big enough leaps for the team to not need another rookie wing.

But you cannot be sure he is actually that player in the NBA. I'm thinking he could be more like Stef than the Bibby comparisons because of his ability to shoot the ball.

It was questioned if would be able to develop sufficient ball handling skills to be a point guard.

    @WEASEL8512@WEASEL851210 күн бұрын
  • The 9th pick in a historically weak draft class doesn't matter at all. What matters as far as the Grizzlies is concerned, is that their current GM values players who you can't win a championship with. You can't win the title if your "big" is a tweener and Jaren Jackson Jr. is a tweener. He's too inconsistent from three and he can't defend the smaller, more athletic 4's in this league to be a stretch 4. He's too weak to hold defensive position against strong players and he's too pathetic of a rebounder to be a 5 on a title team. They also value Marcus Smart who's shot selection and decision making is too erratic to be a starter on a title team. Until the Grizzlies get a GM who knows what type of players should be valued they will always be pretenders instead of true contenders.

Feels like now can we truly build for a championship run next season? Trade is difficult for us because other teams want us to give a piece back that we need. Another big is a must. We have to match these 7 footers. I don’t know but I have a concern Steven Adams gets back to form next year. We have concerns other places. We need another athletic defender taller than Smart and Vince who can score when needed. I am not with Rose and Pippen as the backup point guards especially if Ja has to be out. I don’t think Rose gets more healthier next season.
